[Poll] Johto Times Favourite Pokémon Poll 2025

Hello Pokémon fans!

Darren here from Johto Times. I am making a post here to bring attention to the Johto Times Favourite Pokémon Poll 2025 edition. The goal is to reach as many Pokémon fans as possible, and determine which Pokémon is the fans' favourite. Between May 17th and July 31st, 2025, Johto Times will run a poll for each Pokémon generation, from Kanto to Paldea, and invite Pokémon fans to cast their vote on their favourites!

• Participants can vote for their six favourite Pokémon in each poll.
• Each poll will run for ten weeks, between May 17th and July 31st, 2025.
• In August 2025 we will reveal the results of each poll, and the top ten Pokémon from each will move through to the grand final, which will take place later that month.
• Please spread the word and tell your friends!

Update: 22nd May (Clarification): Pokémon which are tied jointly within the top ten will progress to the grand final. For example, if by the end of the poll, two Pokémon have the same number of votes in tenth position, both of these Pokémon will progress through to the grand final.

Voted in all the polls.

Had the hardest time picking all six in Hoenn and Galar. Picked some generations going straight down the line without going back. (Might have left off Volcarona, though. Whoops.)

Expects the eeveelutions to do well, at least in the first round. May eat into each others' share in the second round.

Will be interesting to see how the finalists from the Pokemon General poll last year fare as well. The list of those:

Was a bit swingy, though. Typically qualified if two people chose a Pokemon as their top pick for that generation. Adds Volcarona performing very differently in the poll for its generation versus the finals, at least in terms of points.

I have a list of my favorite pokemon. I noticed that the later the generation, the farther on my list I had to scroll to find the sixth candidate. Nearly exponential.

I'm glad to see both PokeCommunity and PokeJungle spreading the word about this poll. I came across this poll via reddit, so I was pleasantly surprised to see two sites I like a lot both promoting this.

Thanks for voting! I imagine it can be quite tricky. Keep in mind that this poll isn't connected with previous PokéCommunity polls, however it will be interesting to see how those grand final results look :)

Yeah they've been hugely supportive! We are very lucky. Pocket Monsters are also supporting this (although haven't made any post yet to my knowledge) and Bulbagarden have the poll on their front page! Let's hope it gets seen by many Pokémon fans from everywhere!

Thank you for your votes! Given the number of entries we have got, I think we are going to get a fairly good idea as to what people's feelings are towards specific Pokémon in 2025.

Voting for Kanto favourites was quite difficult given the two Nidoran lines already cover six slots! But it was entertaining and the other regions were quite easier to get picks from (it helps that each successive generation adds fewer likable Pokémon, but oh well that's what Nintendon't get us...).

Thank you for your votes! I guess it can be difficult to choose, even when you have six. It does make me glad that I didn't use six for this stage of voting!
