kids today will never know

Blowing on the catridge because Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt kept freezing every goddamn time I so much as tapped the NES.

Burning CDs in Windows Media Player and begging your parents to blast that shit in the car.

Actually utilizing local multiplayer in video games, instead of giving your online name away. You had to organize that shit with your friends! (*cough*SSB64*cough*Goldeneye*cough*Super Mario Bros. 3*cough*)

90's cartoons. Like, can we just say that those were the best days ever? Does anyone agree? Not that I hate a lot of the stuff now but... none of it can ever compare to the 90's. I pretty much grew up with 90's cartoons.

THIS SO MUCH let me throw all my agrees at you

  • Saturday Morning Cartoons - When you were nowhere near having any cable and the only oasis of programming that you enjoy is cartoons; these are especially nice.
  • FM Radio
  • MTV/VH1/CMT - When these channels ACTUALLY WERE DEVOTED TO PLAYING MUSIC VIDEOS AND MUSIC ALONE!
  • The Game Boy, GBC, and GBA
  • Boybands
  • Combination FM Radio/MP3 Players
  • Zune player - This is the same as above but was more advanced. I owned both a 1st Gen 30GB and a 32GB ZuneHD. I loved them dearly. The Zune absolutely DESTROYS the iPod in comparison...but Apple had the traction already. RIP Zune. You will be missed forever.

90's Nickelodeon.

"Hello?"
"Hi, may I speak to Roxanne?"
"Sure, one sec....ROXAAAAAAAAAANE? YO FRIEND MEG IS ON THE PHOWNE"

^Kids will never get to experience this. I have to go through my friends' parents in order to actually talk to my friend on the phone. These days we all have cellphones, so home phones are like...obsolete now.

oh, and emailing friends. this was before social media like myspace became a thing.

[PokeCommunity.com] kids today will never know

The Saturday (and Sunday) morning Disney cartoons :'( My childhood right there. Recess, Duck Tales, Pepper Ann, Darkwing Duck. Man I'm getting nostalgic just to list them haha.

Also the cool-ass GB games from back then. The Wario Land series, Gen I and II, the Zelda Oracles...

Myspace and custom profile pages were a thing back when I was growing up.

Basically me except replace MySpace with Bebo. Wow the amount of hours that I sank into that website was unreal. And it was still leagues better than Facebook. A shame that it has become a weird clone of twitter and some kind of simulator.

Oh my god I remember playing that at the library all the time. I really miss it. Apparently the maker of it got a C&D and had to take it down.
Ack, it did? Such a damn shame.

Personally I'm just very saddened that my descendants will never know the god-given gift that is Crayon Shin-Chan.
Me too, except replace "saddened" with "happy" and "god-given gift" with "visual holocaust."

Using twitter trends to gloat about their childhood being 'superior' compared to kids today.

25 years of this system.

VHS/Cassette Tapes. I still have a shit load of these and still use them all the time. Also having a landline phone.

I'm too young to to be posting here.
