Last One to Post Wins! v4

I'm also hoping they don't bring out any new one for a while- back with the 3DS I had the Pokémon Bank set to just keep me logged in, so I never really used the password. One day I went to use some funds to renew the subscription and it suddenly asked me for my password. I of course don't remember it at all, so I've haven't been able to get into since. I had to create a new nintendo account and everything when I started the Nintendo Switch games. And it's the same email address for both the old and new account, so I'm concerned that if I try to get the password for the new one I'll end up getting the old one, and then not have access to the new one. Ach...

I will buy Nothing Phone, rather than getting Switch 2, unless the later comes with some better hardware and more utilities apart from playing games. Their pricing is unreasonably high for the quality of products they make.

On the flip side of that, I'm glad the mainline titles that Nintendo releases are finished products. (with a couple of key exceptions). Because I don't want to always pay full price and have to wait for version 1.02 or whatever to actually play the game. They can usually be trusted not to pull stuff such as that.

Nintendo is really behind in doing sales though. Every other company has some amazing seasonal sales. Nintendo on the other hand will still value its launch titles at full price. It makes the console more expensive to invest in.

Nintendo is very similar to Disney in regards to their IPs. At the same time: Nintendo doesn't really have much else besides their IPs. Sony also sells all kinds of electronic devises and we all know what Microsoft owns. ^^"

It's just understandable that their a little careful when it comes to their series. There are enough other companies who would really love to take over Mario or Pokemon.

I think I've occasionally seen a sale in their e-store. Too bad I prefer physical games, which tend to only go on sale if the retailer selling them does one.

Even the occasional sales are lackluster. Will be lucky to see a game on sale at anything below 10% reduced.

I also don't like how they locked out the GameCube library for years just to sell 'remasters' at full price.

I understand it from a business perspective. As a consumer, it's inconvenient.

Death to Disney

Someone really needs to stop Disney- they took over Star Wars and almost immediately starting releasing absolute rubbish, and they haven't stopped. If anything, they've increased their production.

Didn't we hear some sort of announcement that we'd be getting more info on Nintendo's next system next year, am I remembering that right? I thought it seemed like a big deal when we heard about it but it's been a while and things have gone silent ever since. I just figured after... wow, seven years, the Switch would be on its way out. I just want a console with StreetPass again, it was the coolest thing haha.

I honestly never thought of it this way, but... yeah.
I don't think Nintendo has the complete death grip some people claim they do on some IPs, things like Retro Studios developing Metroid Prime and Donkey Kong Country Returns comes to mind, or Mercury Steam handling Samus Returns and Metroid Dread (yes i'm a metroid fan how could you tell) but for the big stuff like Mario or Pokemon it does seem like they want to keep that grip on them. Makes sense with how big they are. I just wish we got more opportunities for games like those made by other companies because those games are great and especially things like Metroid Dread feel like they have a level of quality Nintendo wouldn't really make first-hand.

Metroid 'Dread' didn't live up to it's title imo as it was just kinda annoying to me with those 'mess up the timing and you're insta killed' robots. The rest of the game was nice, though the final boss fight was too lengthy for my liking.

I'm looking forward to that DKC remaster that's coming... early next year iirc? Never played the original as it was on the Wii.

I just exist without hating any companies, unless there's a company that's just pure concentrated evil lol

That's Disney in a nutshell. They did a so-called 'nature' movie in 1958 where they had a scene of Lemmings committing mass suicide, perpetuating the completely incorrect myth. Here's an excert from the Wikipedia page for the movie:

In 1982, the CBC Television news magazine program The Fifth Estate broadcast a documentary about animal cruelty in Hollywood called Cruel Camera, focusing on White Wilderness as well as the television program Wild Kingdom. The host of the CBC program, Bob McKeown, discovered that the lemming scene was actually filmed at the Bow River near Canmore, Alberta, and further that the same small group of lemmings was transported to the location, jostled on turntables, and repeatedly shoved off a cliff to imply mass suicide.

I think it's safe to say that Disney fits your standard for a company to dislike.

And the games even retain their value after the consoles go off the market, which makes getting into their older stuff really hard unless you use... less then official methods.

Yes, they said they'd reveal more information about the Switch 2 before March 2025; although I feel neutral about the whole thing at this point tbh. It definitely makes sense for them to introduce a new console from a business perspective considering Switch sales are rapidly declining. But I feel pretty happy with the Switch as-is and don't really have the money to drop on a whole new console atm.

I remember someone telling me that they kinda Disney-fied Star Wars's storytelling. I wouldn't know. In fact, I kinda grew out of Star Wars long before the IP was bought by Disney. But I can believe that given how much I've heart from many people complaining about modern Star Wars.

Any bigger company/corporation is concentrated evil. Disney may be bad. But then you have the food industry (most prominently Nestle) who are on a whole new level of evil. ^^"

Had a cloudy rainy day yesterday and now it's back to sunshine without any clouds... Ugh.
