rainbow greninja? what was that supposed to be? a mix of all of greninja's SSB alt colors?

I think it was just called Rainbow Greninja because that it was the Code Name was for sun and moon, it is based in Hawaii, and Alola is linked to a lot of Rainbows right now with the 2 islands so far that we know being Yellow and Pink and the other islands probably having color names as well.

The name itself is what made me think it was fake. Because it wouldn't be called Rainbow Greninja. It would probably keep Ash-Greninja because that is how it was in the TCG and Ash can mean more than just Ash. Not to mention the Japnese name is Satoshi for Ash.

I'm glad that this "Rainbow Greninja" thing is fake, and looks like Ash-Greninja might not be happening after all, which I'm kind of glad, because I don't want any new mechanics, nor do I want any hint of Ash in the games, even if his Greninja is pretty awesome.

I don't think it's fair to rule it out. There's no set timeline, so just because they didn't reveal it doesn't mean it's not coming.

And even if Ash-Greninja does get in the games, I doubt they'll keep the name, or even be a big story point. It'd probably just be some random form change they gave to Greninja because popularity.

I don't know, because Greninja is a starter and giving a form that its Kalos starter cohorts can't use is what I call too much fanservice. I usually don't like it when one starter is given special treatment over the others just because it did well in a popularity poll, as shown with Greninja being voted the #1 most popular Pokemon in a recent Japanese poll.

it might be too soon to rule it out given how quick they where to put it into picross & shuffle.
also anime based pokemon and references to the anime always make their way into the games.

• Pokémon Yellow is a direct tribute to the anime.
• Pokémon Puzzle League is also heavily based on the anime, with Ash Ketchum being the player character and all other characters coming from the anime.
• When Red was battled in Mt. Silver in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, Pikachu's moves were changed from the original moves in Generation II to reflect Ash's Pikachu's moves in the Diamond & Pearl series.
• In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, Clair has a Gyarados in her team, much like in the anime.
• The Jigglypuff with a marker appears in Pokémon Snap.
• Pokémon Channel uses the anime voices of Pokémon, including Maddie Blaustein's Meowth. It also features an episode exclusive to the game: Pichu Bros. in Party Panic.
• In the Japanese versions of Diamond and Pearl, one of the default names for Barry is Shigeru. In the English versions, one of the default names for Lucas is Ash.
• Riley appears to be based on Sir Aaron, a character that appeared in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Riley has a Lucario, a Pokémon Aaron also had, and they both are capable of using the Aura. However, he appeared later in the anime.
• The mysterious GS Ball, a Key Item in Pokémon Crystal, was introduced during the Orange Islands arc.
• The Generation II games said that Cinnabar Island was evacuated because of the eruption of a volcano. While the games do not show any volcano, the anime clearly shows Ash fighting against Blaine on the top of a volcano.
• In Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal a female NPC near the Lake of Rage makes a reference to the Pink Butterfree. She comments "Come to think of it, I've seen a pink Butterfree."
• In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, the Trainer at Zone 35 states "I've heard someone has the same team combination as me. Do you know him or her?". With a team consisting of Cacnea and Chimecho, the person with the same team combination is James of Team Rocket in the anime's Hoenn region arc.
• In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, an NPC named Luis will sometimes participate in Pokémon Super Contest with his Pikachu, nicknamed Sparky, much like Ritchie's is.
• Route 224 has Ace Trainer Rebecca, a Trainer who analyzes battles using her laptop. She challenges the player with her Metagross. However, this cameo was not recognized by translators, as English versions call her Jamie (in Japanese version her name is ヒトミ Hitomi, like in the movie).
• Also, the two Ace Trainers that appear on the southernmost part of Route 229 have their teams based on those of Butler and Diane in Jirachi: Wish Maker. In the Japanese version, as well, they are named as Butler and Diane, but, as with Rebecca, the English translation team did not notice the relation to the movie characters.
• Swimmer Katelyn on Sinnoh Route 220 is based on Lizabeth from Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea. Her Japanese name matches that of Lizabeth, but the relation was missed by the English dubbers of the game.
• The most important of the Super Contest judges is named Dexter, much like Ash's Pokédex was during the anime's early seasons.
• In Pokémon Stadium, Brock's team includes a Vulpix and Giovanni's team includes a Persian. In Pokémon Stadium 2, Misty's team includes a Togetic while Red's team contains a Tauros and the evolved forms of the three Johto starters.
• In Pokémon Snap, Mew uses a bubble with acts like a shield. In Mewtwo Strikes Back, Mew were seen to create bubbles with it inside for the seemingly same reasons.

    • In the English version of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, Sean Schemmel, who voiced Lucario in the movie's English dub, returns to voice Lucario.
  • Pokémon Trainer's trophy in the English version of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS references the original Pokémon Theme, as well as Ash and three of his conpanions; Misty, Brock, and Iris.

It's just.... to me, Worlds would be the best time to reveal something that huge in the games, what with Pokemon fans of all kinds being there. But instead, we got Crabrawler. It just seems too huge to drop in a random trailer or corocoro magazine, but I could be wrong. Corocoro did introduce us to Mega Evolution after all.

I guess it's safe to say the Rainbow Greninja rumor has been debunked, but that won't rule out the possibility of Ash Greninja being a thing in Sun & Moon.

Not sure if you guys saw this or not, but it looks like we have some concept art of Pyukumuku's evolution.

Also, we'll be able to take part in the Pyukumuku chucking experience, for a nice 20k too.

Not sure if you guys saw this or not, but it looks like we have some concept art of Pyukumuku's evolution.

Jeez that looks like one of those aliens from Beyond Good and Evil. Do they want to give little kids nightmares? :P

I could see how that Pyukumuku evo would potentially work. It would be good to see how it actually looks in game, a lot of the time they differ in appearance compared to concept art.

Ahaha that is great. I said I thought there would be a gameplay trailer that might not show much and look what we got :D

Anyway, I don't really like that drawing.... But it is also really terrible.... That definitely isn't really concept art, even for concept art it looks like crap and I really don't think they would draw in blue ink.

It looks pretty simple ... That's why I can't see what it is supposed to evolve into ... It's kinda like Goomy. I couldn't imagine anything about its possible evolution, and I sure wasn't expecting it to evolve into a Pseudo-Legend... Yoooooo, could you imagine Pyukumuku actually evolving into a Pseudo-Legend for Sun and Moon? That sure would be a surprise xD But I doubt it >-<

Pyukumuku would look very weak if it doesn't get an evolution. That's just my two cents though.

I think the only Pokemon I could see being stand-alone are Turtonator, Mimikyu and Togedemaru. That's just speculation for now, but I could be proven wrong at a later point.

Yes, I can totally see Turtonator being a stand-alone Pokémon (although it could be like Mudsdale or Bewear. It could actually have a pre-evo. If yes, then I think they'll reveal it sometime soon). As much as I'd like Mimikyu to evolve, I can't see it evolving :/ And Togedemaru ... I don't really have any opinion about it ... It's just a pika-clone :/ But let's wait and see!
