Every day, a random number between 0 and 65535 is generated by the game. If this number matches the first two bytes of the personality value of any Pokémon in the player's party, then Mirage Island will appear.
Have you ever encountered Mirage Island in your RSE playthroughs?

I haven't and tried so many times each day. My friend had though, and I remember wishing that were me!

I have never gotten the island, no, and I really don't feel like trying. It's not worth it in the long run...tbh? Like, all that's there is a berry for boosting attack. Nothing else. And Wynaut I guess. I'd be more enticed if there was more there.

I've never encountered it, I thought ORAS was the first game it was in. But I'm pretty sure most of the time I've played Gen III it's been on a cartridge with a dry battery, so I don't really think I've ever seen most of the time-based stuff in it. I'd like to experience it just to see what it's like, but I'm sure it's also more trouble than it's worth.

So, there's a common thread through the older generations of making things elusive or difficult to obtain for no real reason. Like they didn't outright acknowledge EVs until Gen 6 when they decided to make a whole ass minigame for them. TMs were single use til gen 5. Battle Facilities rewarded you 1-5BP for beating 7 battles and the best items cost 48BP, some of those being TMs.

Mirage Island fits up there, and it will forever bug me. Wild Wynauts (already got the egg, thanks Game Freak) and a bunch of berries (that would invariably be lost by accident through random consumption/etc).

Make it worthwhile. Make the rare Pokemon that appear there, actually cool. Give some rare items for the Secret Base, or something.

I have encountered Mirage Island. And it's not that long ago. I grinded it for Loomie's The Lampent Challenge in 2022, because I wanted to get that level 50 Wynaut. It took me about 2 months, but I found it. Phew, it was worth it for the Wynaut, but I don't think I'll do it again.
