New Pokémon

The official site says that Grubbin can be found near power plants because it loves electricity. This makes me think it might evolve to have an Electric typing, but I also wonder about a Ground typing because it's also said to dig underground.

I wonder when the dog and koala will show up on the site? It's kinda strange to me that they haven't shown up on the official site, although I do remember Serebii stating a while back that particular issue of CoroCoro was supposed to have "exclusive" info about SM. Does that mean the dog and koala won't be up in the official site and were only meant to show up in CoroCoro like they did?

There is always a few days to 2 weeks between corocoro pokemon being in trailers. They still have to reveal the US names for them. I doubt they will wait for the games to come out to do that, especially with the internet being the place to go for info. They know by now that the world knows about the other 2 for the most part, they are just waiting to reveal it. It is possible that they aren't on the first few routes, so they have to go to another island or further on the first island. That was on Route 1 that they were on as far as I could tell. So that route was between the beach and village. That leaves a few more routes and a cave on the first island.

Grubbin doesn't look like it would have a butterfly or moth-based evolution. I want to see Game Freak take a different direction for the early Bug-type.

Usually when I think of a grub, I think of worms and flies, I know they aren't related, but that is what I think of when I think of grubs.. We it most likely being an Electric type based on it's description, I wouldn't mind it being a butterfly or moth. I think it will be a unique bug though. In Unova, all the bugs were fairly unique.

I still think we will get multiple bug lines this generation. Wouldn't mind having another spider pokemon either.

There is a bug in Hawaii that is endangered known as the Pomace Fly, so it would be a great addition to the bug types, especially if it turns into electric and not flying. But they may use it in a different bug line.

For me Grubbin either go for a Fly or a Beetle.

To go along with the conservation theme of the new Pokemon, I think having around 70-90 Alola-native Pokémon would be fitting. I would hope to get a bigger number than that, as I too would like to use all of the new Pokémon for my team... but on the other hand, there's plenty of older ones that I like and wouldn't mind using on my team. My favorite Water-type is Shellos, and I hope we can obtain it in Alola.

So there is apparently a Coconut rhinoceros beetle that has a grub larvae stage, so they might go off of that for Grubbin. it kinda looks like Heracross, but I can see them making it look like a coconut, which could be cool. But I am hoping for something electric inspired.

This time last games, we ha more information and even Noivern, Sylveon, Skrelp, and Clauncher were released. WE NEED MORE POKEMON!

Correction: It's the Alola region, not Kalos. It does remind me how people are still speculating a return to Kalos when I feel that Alola is already another isolated region to the point it won't happen.

Corrected it, I had Kalos on the brain since it was mentioned several times in this thread.{XD}

Would be pretty random to have Kalos connected with Alola. Would be awesome, but random ;)

I have a feeling that megas are not going to be numerous this time. The storyline might actually be the focus like a lot of great RPGS. It would really be cool to see a better connection with characters... including the pokemon that will be able to speak with the trainers through the rotomdex...so rumors say.

I cannot wait to see Eevee tell us about more ways it can evolve. I really hope to see a new Eevee

^ Probably won't be as many Megas. I think Gen 6 was the opportunity for GameFreak to introduce as many megas as they possibly could to players since it was still a new concept at the time, and to get players more accustomed to it. This generation most likely won't be so heavily focused on mega evolution and the concept of it, so we'll probably see like 2-3 megas at the most.

At least, I hope we won't hear much about megas. Not gonna lie, I was personally tired of hearing about mega evolution lore after Kalos and ORAS. x.x

There's also the possibility Mega Evolution may be scrapped so we may not get any new Megas at all and we'll only be getting Synchro (or Burst) Evolutions instead due to being the new mechanic.

After all the marketing and emphasis put on Mega Evolutions, I HIGHLY doubt they would completely scrap them. If Synchros do end up becoming a thing they'd portably just put greater emphasis on them but still have Megas.

Yeah I highly doubt they are going to scrap Megas, especially when Prof. Sycamore was the Prof. of Megas. Would make little sense to stop it. That is basically what Gen 6 was entirely based around. Especially with the Mega Pokemon League in the anime where everyone basically has a type of Mega.

Anyway back on the subject of new pokemon. I said is another thread that Grubbin was based on a Larval Beetle. Which is also known as a grub. Apparnely they are the larva of Japanese Beetles, June Beetles and Chafers.

We have no confirmation, as of yet, how many evolutions Grubbin has, but it might pull a Wurmple, having 2 or 3 Evolution lines. I think 3 may be pushing it. It appeared in the WHF play through, but I am not sure if they caught it or showed the dex entry.

They did end up saying Grubbin has three stages and Yungoos has two stages.

I made the mistake in thinking Yungoos also had a 3 staged evolution. Grubbin will be interesting to see considering how 3 staged Bug-type Pokemon usually turn out completely different to their initial stages.

Wouldn't mind having another spider pokemon either.

I remember there being a rumour in the lead up to sixth gen about a Bug/Ghost spider pokemon. I think something like that would be pretty cool.
