Nintendo Direct announced for 18 June

No. Don't have any interest in Nintendo as a whole, and hence no point for me look out there.

I've been making it a tradition to watch Directs live whenever I'm able to, so I'm super excited to catch this one live, I've been waiting for a while to hear the date for the June direct!

I was playing the audio on my phone while showering. (So attention was about 25%).

I heard Dragon Quest music and almost slipped trying to hurry out.

Dragon Quest is my all time favorite franchise.

The Zelda game is neat too.

[PokeCommunity.com] Nintendo Direct announced for 18 June

METROID PRIME 4 ISN'T DEAD LET'S GOOOOOOOOO!!

There was so much good stuff this direct! Opening with a new Mario and Luigi game got me super excited, because it's a series I love so much and was worried for so long that it'd be dead after AlphaDream's bankruptcy. It's so cool to have a new Zelda game where you play as Zelda and have it clearly take inspiration from the direction Tears of the Kingdom went in, even if I personally wished that 2D Zelda would still continue to follow the formula of the older games and build upon something like Link Between Worlds.Donkey Kong Country Returns is one of my favourite platformers and it's cool to see it on Switch so people don't have to choose between playing it on Wii where motion controls are forced or on 3DS where the screen is smaller, now we have one proper release where you can play it on a big screen with the 3DS version's bonus levels. And Ace Attorney Investigations 2 is FINALLY getting an English release after how many years?! Finally we have every Ace Attorney game available in English, and all of them except for Layton vs Wright are available on Switch in the same place!

But for real, can we talk about how GOOD Prime 4 looks now that we actually get to see gameplay of it? Both Dread and Prime Remastered look amazing and it's so wonderful to see Prime 4 respect a lot of the detail those games put in, both in looks and how it seems incredibly faithful to what was good about the series. Every second of gameplay I saw made me think "Yes, this is a new Metroid Prime, they didn't try to change or revolutionize something that was already good" and that makes me so happy. I'm so happy to be alive...

Bigger than expected, but nothing of much personal interest. Hoped for the Zelda game to be more action-oriented. Looks pretty puzzle-heavy, though. Makes sense as to why (Triforce of Wisdom). Killed interest in that, however.

Paid attention to the damage numbers in Farmagia (by Marvelous, the makers of Rune Factory): 95 damage for no weakness, 1176 for a weakness. 1176 / 95 = 12.379. Imagine Pokemon with multipliers like that. Amounts to more than maxing your offense and getting a super-effective attack off (x4 * x2 = x8 damage). Sounds far too rock-paper-scissors.

I can see why are people excited about the direct, but personally, I didn't really get excited for anything announced.

Mario ans Luigi looks interesting, but I always get turned away from this type of Mario spin-off by the battle system. I don't like this weird mix of turn-based combat with QTE. But I might give it a try one day.

I'm glad new Zelda isn't another boring open-world. It looks really cool.
