Race: Honey Bee Faunus (Queen Bee Specifically)
Personality/Backstory: Cole is organized, efficient and overpowering. Those traits come naturally to a faunus raised to control an entire colony of other fauna. Unlike their arthropod counterparts, the regular honey bees, the bee fauna are not a part of a hive mind. They can communicate telepathically with one another, but their evolved brains fare too difficult to be controlled by any number of queen bees, let alone one. Cole's mind and body are both far more advanced than those of her brethren. This is because she was fed the royal jelly, that amplified her growth process for the sole purpose of keeping the colony alive. However, she never did occupy her position.
She was a dwarf Queen, a replacement just in case of the reigning queen's death. She wasn't alone, there were 4 other dwarf queens in her 'hive', all her step-sisters of course. In fact, the queen bee at the time was her step-sister as well. Cole never wanted to be queen. Few queens did. It was a tiring process, they were forced to attend classes and colony training, day in and out. She was almost always tired, but she kept the royal facade about her. Both her parents were dead; her father the day he met her mother and her mother the day she resigned from the throne. The only real communication she had was with her step-sisters, and they too were cold and distant. She did find solace in the time with her bees, and those care free hours were what stopped her from mutinying. Those were also the only times she had no outbursts. The hours and hours of pressure and solitude took a toll on Cole. She was the most 'emotional' of all her sisters, she was prone to outbursts of anger and sadness. Unbeknownst to her, this was the reason why she would never become queen. All of the hive knew, except for her. She dreaded the day she would ascend to throne, when in reality she would never. Everyone could've told her, but no one did. In mind and in soul she was truly alone.
However, all bad things must come to an end.
She couldn't bear with the thought of running a hive, even though she never was, so one day she appealed to the Queen Bee. She wanted to leave the hive. The Queen was delighted, but she feigned sadness. Ah, Colelle, my sister, I am deeply saddened that you wish to leave us. Alas! If that is what you want, then who am I to deny my little sister? Cole was also delighted, but did not bother to feign anything. She was grinning ear to ear by the time she left the Queen's quarters, and she couldn't control her laughter by the time she reached her quarters. She was finally free!
2 years later she looked at the large doors of the academy with the same grin on her face.
Appearance: Cole is a scrawny, dark skinned, 6'5" female Faunus. She has short, fuzzy and black hair, tinged with streaks of yellow. Hidden beneath this fuzz, is a pair of antennae whose tips poke out of it.
Her arms and legs also have similar fuzz, but is very diminished as it is a remnant of her bee heritage. Unlike worker bee fauna, she does not have compound eyes, she has more advanced mammal eyes, identical to those of humans. Her entire face is identical to that of a human, and is particularly nondescript. A narrow nose and large eyes on an almost triangular face. The only major difference is her mouth. Though she has regular lips, she can produce honey from her mouth. She does have a longer tongue than most humans, and tubes that secrete the honey as well.
She has a pair of vestigial wing and a pair of lumps on either side of her rib cage. In some fauna, those lumps can grow to form working arms. She does have one unique organ on her lower back. It is commonly called a hive, but it is a remnant of the abdomen of a queen bee. It is a paraboloid, alternately colored in black and yellow rings tipped with a stinger. The stinger is not covered with barbs. It contains a dense network of nerves and blood vessels, and is in close association with Cole's spinal cord. The hive is called such, as it is both the breeding ground and storage of bees. That is what sets Cole apart from regular Bee fauna. The hive acts like a regular beehive, it contains a Queen bee, worker bees and drone bees. The hive opens in hexagonal pores all along the rim of intersection between the hive and her skin. The worker and drone bees can freely emerge from this region. The entire 'hive' is lined with hair and the rim is lined with even more so. The honey that Cole secretes from her mouth comes from the hive. Every other aspect of her is undoubtedly human. The hive is slightly bigger than an american football, and protrudes outwards.
Cole wears basic leather armor over a yellow tank top and black jeans. This armor extends to her hive and covers the tip of it, but leaves the rim open. She often wears a cloak over this, in order to hide her hive from sight.
Semblance: Cole's semblance is Hive Mind. She has the ability to control the bees born in her hive to certain extents. As her power is now basic, she can only control the drone bees.
Weapon: Cole had never had access to advanced weapons, so the only weapon she has is a pistol, modified to shoot darts tipped with honey bee venom.
Roleplay Sample: Cole took a deep breath as she opened her palm. Concentrate. You can do this. She continued taking deep breaths and shut her eyes. When she opened them, their irises were milky, and the cornea was webbed with hexagonal red lines. At that moment her mind was not only in one entity, it was in the bodies of both Colelle and the drone bee in her palm. She willed the wings of the tiny insect to flap and she willed it to move to her other palm. This exercise was getting easier by the day. The flow of shifting from her mind to the insect's and back was getting increasingly easier. Her instructor had said that controlling one bee was the first and most challenging step, and the steps afterwards became easier. This did not comfort her in the slightest. Using her Hive Mind was a painful process, and she was never eager to do it day after day. At that moment in time controlling one, lone drone bee seemed like a Herculean task. She had no idea of the potential she had in her. No idea at all.
