depends on what the song is about really

cynthia's theme and emotion are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.
The anime's Pokemon anthem, one from the 90s and one from the mid 2000s.

Some of the pianists I got were fucking amazing. I wanted them to play anything. Some though, were hardly hearable :<

My favourite Pokemon piece would have to be Through the Sea of Time, or the Questionnaire theme, both from PMD 2. I had two out of body experiences to the former song, actually - one the other day and one back in May/June of last year. Strange stuff, but fun. Music is my life.

I've been listening to Elton John for the past hour or so. Thinking of popping in the Whale & Wasp. That track is amazing.

More than anything I'd like my stress to go away. Thank my stars PC isn't so stressful for me anymore, it helps.

But um, haha. Yeah. I just had a slim jim. It was greasy, but good. I want to sleep.

I'll listen to just about anything that isn't like hard metal or something like that. My music taste is very broad so I like to take a dip into all genres.

I'm sorta the same taste as you. The reason I hate metal is because my mother loves it and she basically lives a life running a fanclub for the genre, and I think metal is nothing but music that's full of screaming.

Yeah I think the screaming kind of turns me off too idk. I am guilty of listening to more mainstream music I guess.

i still hear Bring Me To Life all the time on the radio here.. and every single time i get war flashbacks to the dark ages of edgy AMVs.

You wanna hear a depressing song?

And there ain't even any lyrics.

I like screams in my music. Not the grunting they do in metal, but more the screaming found in hardcore punk/post-hardcore. I feel it complements high guitar notes really well. When it comes to piano, I've never been a huge fan of the usual piano sound in rock music. I like organs and synths more.

I've grown out of my phase of going against the mainstream and thinking I'm superior to those that listen to the radio. it's kind of a waste of time. plus there's definitely some very good stuff going on (even though most of it isn't great, obviously, but that's the case with everything).

@Alex, I can name two more depressing tracks on Jar of Flies -- Rotten Apple and Nutshell. those songs Fuck me. honestly I think if they'd made it a four-song EP just with the first four, it would've been perfectly fine. I have no use for the last 3 personally.

People who don't like mainstream need a bitta fun in their lives imo, who can't bop along to a cheesy song!

I'm also in a debate with my innerself on to get pizza or not

I don't listen too most radio music, but that's just because it's not my taste. And even though four chord songs aren't 'as complicated' and thus 'not as good', I still enjoy some of the mainstream music. Uptown Funk is a blessing, and I'd be lying if I said I don't know the lyrics to "Shake it Off" by heart.

I love pretty much every Alice in Chains song there is, and both sides of their discography too. Their slower, more mellow Sap/Jar of Flies stuff is really nice, and when I'm feeling good songs from Facelift and Dirt are great as well. It's so out there, so abnormal, and I love it. They didn't give a fuck what people would think about what they wrote and it came out awesome.

The Harmony between Jerry and Layne is really amazing, too. Not to mention Layne is a beast of a singer.

I have absolutely nothing with most grunge music. Nirvana is great, and I love some Post-Grunge stuff, but most Grunge I just can't get into. Just like Classic Rock. I always feel a bit bad about that, as I feel like there is just something I should like about it, but it all just gets lost on me. I appreciate the musicality behind it, but I do not care for the music whatsoever.

I remember Jerry Cantrell saying that the whole concept of grunge was a joke one of their friends made up back in '93. The bands never really saw themselves as anything but separate entities, and you know... I can agree with that. All of them are really distinct from one another, so much that you may think of each band as a "flavour."

Music like this, though, is lovely to sleep to. Gets your mind relaxed and happy.

this is one of the better songs to sleep to as far as I'm concerned. and maybe this. but they're both similarly transcendent to be awake to as well. I adore them both. Smashing Pumpkins are my favorite band with ties to the grunge scene (other than the Afghan Whigs but I'm not sure they really count): "1979" in particular is completely undeniable.

also, nah, there's no way Cantrell came up with 'grunge' in '93. pretty sure it was Mudhoney who coined the term? back in like '87? or Green River or something. I'm not too familiar with the genre (anymore) so I could be wrong about that, but it was definitely around way before '93, especially considering the year after that is when Cobain killed himself and grunge was most certainly a thing for almost the whole time he was making music.
