Ignoring the March 2018 flop that was the Pet Thread here in Other Chat, it's time to show off your pets!!! Lots of pictures of your beloved animal compantions please!!!!

This is Jude Nyathis, my ragdoll (well, partial ragdoll?) cat. He is a sweet boy who is sometimes very naughty. With him is my latest addition to the family.

I will just post this one pic for now bc I intend to absolutely spam this with cat pics if tyler lets me. And he will, bc otherwise I'll bully him.

Here's my last kittykat, aptly named TC [Top Cat]. He was a very old boi when this was taken, I think 8/9 years old???? He was a bit grumpy but super affectionate when he wanted to be and he had the most adorable little black spots just above the eyes, otherwise all white (which was annoying because he'd get dirty a lot)

Friends have told me he looks like a fake cat in most pictures bc his face is so plush and cute.

My first chinchilla, Chinderella. Unfortunately she passed away in March but I still wanted to show a picture of her.

I'll start my post off with my new rescue boi, Briggs. He's a big boy, a Black Mouth Cur, and while he has a high prey drive, he's a very sweet pup and loves people and other dogs. He really wants to chase my cats but we're working on training him out of that. I've had him for 13 days now and we went out to a festival today, which marks the first time he's been out of our house since we got him. He has anxiety and really wants to be around my s.o and I. He loves to snuggle and is very obedient, especially when there's food involved, lol.

Here's our other rescue pup who was unfortunately bounced around from house to house by an owner who was never quite financially stable. She lived in several dirty houses due to the owners being hoarders. Then she landed in a backyard and was forced to be an outside dog. But now she lives with us in our home. She's an attention whore and loves to get pets and affection. It's the whole basis of her obedience training because she's not particularly food motivated, but she's a great dog who can be trusted off-leash. She knows how to do several tricks, but she's really stubborn about her 'speak' command, despite that she's very vocal. She's a GSD mix with what I've surmised as a Husky but we have no definitive proof.

And here's my late dog, Tachi. A Chocolate Lab, he embodied everything that made a Lab great: he loved to please, learned quickly, was empathetic, and he loved to swim and fetch. He was an amazing dog and will be fondly remembered by my close family and especially myself forever. Plus, he was a handsome boi. But in my current batch of pictures, I only have his urn. At some point, I should get other pics of him to post here, too.

Here are a few pictures of Briggs and Cocoa together. He still doesn't quite understand why Cocoa's allowed on the couch but he is not, but he'll eventually earn that privilege.

And onto my kitties! I only wanted two cats because I much prefer dogs, but I have three due to someone allowing their cats to breed, with no game plan no less. The cats came from the same hoarder house and often lived in crates, but were let out throughout the afternoon and confined to a bedroom. The owners didn't even realize the cats had had kittens until they saw them one day. Blows my mind. The mother had twins (mom and dad went to my grandmother's and I got the twins). This one is Venus. She's kinda skittish and doesn't like to be touched, but she will chill in the same room with new humans before the other two cats do. She's a lap cat and often falls into such a deep sleep in my lap that she looks dead, lol.

And this one is Deziree. Deziree is a friendly cat who takes a while to open up to new people. But she's ballsy. She was the first to come out with Briggs here and since the third day, Deziree has been standing her ground and unafraid to show Briggs whose boss. She was also the first to learn the 'sit' command out of the three, due to her desperate love of food. She also our biggest cat without being overweight -- she's just large and stocky. She's another lap cat.

And here are the girls together after about 15 minutes of intense play with our new feather toy that they all go crazy for. Cicero was going to be in the picture, too, but he decided to get up and walk off the second I got my phone ready. He does that.

And here is our original cat, Cicero. He's needy and affectionate and will cry for attention 5 minutes after having laid in my lap. Yes, all three of my cats are lap cats. Sometimes I feel like a cat jungle gym. Cicero loves to be held, too. Deziree tolerates it, Venus hates it, but Cicero adores it. He's also very trusting and will ragdoll in my arms expecting me not to drop him. Guess he's right, though; at 5 years old, I've only dropped him twice, both times from him ragdolling over my arm and expecting me to keep him up. Whoops. He's a very handsome boi, though.

These were some of the pics on my phone currently, so I don't have pictures of my late animals: Tachi, Mitzi (tuxedo grey cat), and Blitz (beautiful blue-grey and white Dutch rabbit with gorgeous icy blue eyes). Nor do I have pics of the reptiles on here since I've been so preoccupied with Briggs these past two weeks. I have a River Cooter named Titus and a Uromastyx named Wilson. Titus loves carrots and Wilson loves dandelions. Wilson also loves to whip people with his spiky tail to show them who's boss. ♥ Hopefully I can upload pics of these animals some day.

Here's a big post, chock full of animal pictures. It's been a tough post to make, considering the wounds of Tachi's death are still very fresh, even 2 months later. Pretty sure half of my time making this thread has been me bawling over him but let's not put a damper on everyone else's enjoyment of these adorable pictures. We'll start with the boi of the hour (and the day and the month and the year and the forever): Tachi!

Not only was Tachi the best dog ever but he was also the most photogenic! These are only just scratching the surface of just how many pictures I have of this handsome chocolatey boi. He was so smart and friendly and funny and empathetic and amazing and this list could continue with infinite 'and's. For those of you who've seen my blog posts, expect an All About Tachi at some point down the road! ♥♥

He wasn't always a Tri-pawd, though. Here are a few pictures of him when he was younger and had all four legs with which to do his favorite things: running, jumping, swimming, and playing!

I only had a few pictures of him in puppyhood. Unfortunately, I didn't have a camera phone back in, what? 2005? Damn those years. But the ones I do have are all super cute! I selected one that showed off his handsome greenish eyes, before they turned into an even more handsomer amber. Here he is as the most adorable puppy ever! ♥♥


And here are some of him with Cocoa, since they were together for about 3 years before Tachi passed away. They were great friends and loved each other very much. After he died, Cocoa, Cicero, and I all wound up in one big pile trying to comfort one another. She's been whining at me since I started making this post, she knows I'm upset (though she probably doesn't know why at this point since it's been so long).



Speaking of Cicero, he wants to be shown off since I only had that one pic of him on my phone last time! First thing's first, showing off his love of dogs! He's been around dogs since we got him from the shelter when he was about 8 months old. He's 5 now! How time flies!


Sometimes, all we see of him when he sleeps is his feet.


... Or everything but his head xD


And other times he likes to be cradled like a baby. Yep, you read that right. He LIKES it. Not just tolerates it, but LIKES IT.


Cocoa's been on the side lines for a while in these pics. Why not show her off again? Just the two this time, you already get enough attention.


Finally got a picture of her with her bottom teeth out. Dunno why she does it, but she must be self-conscious. Every time I try to get a pic of this, she leans her head down and avoids the camera!


Now what about those that got no love last time? Titus is our turtle! We found her where we think a bird must've dropped her after taking her from home (which was pretty much confirmed for me since I saw a bird flying with a huuuuuge fish in its talons right in the place where Titus was dropped 5 years ago!). We didn't know where she belonged since we found her right in the middle of three different creeks. If we took her back to the wrong one, she'd wander across highways and goodness knows where to get back to the right one! So we took her in instead. Unfortunately, entirely my fault as I had no experience with baby turtles, I wound up feeding her too much protein and she wound up with some very minor pyramiding. Luckily, though, I caught it very early and the vet said she has suffered no lasting damage. I certainly cut back on the fish and shrimp after that!

And yes, that is indeed her on a fluffy pink cat bed. She's such a large species of turtle that she can't bask in her water tank because commercial basking platforms don't hold her up. So she goes into her light tank instead where she can curl up on the bed, under her blankets, or inside of her den if she doesn't want to be under her lights.

I seriously feel like I'm breaking a rule with all these attachments... Maybe I should split this into two posts? I think that's what I'll do. Next up, we got some Wilson, Blitz, Briggs, and a pic of the girls in their favorite spot!

Continuing where I left off! Let's start with the other baby who didn't get any love last time. Wilson! He and Titus are so difficult to photograph due to their tanks.

Wilson is our only pet that isn't a rescue. We bought him at a pet store (before I really understood what goes on in these sorts of pet trades) because he looked cool and is one of the few lizards that is purely a vegetarian. I hate bugs and never wanted to get a beardie because I knew they needed insects. So even though bearded dragons are cool as hell, I avoided them. Imagine my face when I found out Wilson, a yellow Saharan uromastyx, not only subsists only on plants but actually cannot have any animal protein whatsoever because it could put them into kidney failure. So our vegetarian lizard has been part of the family for 6 years now! He was the first pet my partner and I got together and he's been whipping us with his spiky tail ever since! Even though he's only about 1 lb and no longer than my forearm, he can draw blood with that weapon of his. But he's sooooo handsome and cute and I love him anyway even though he hates me x3 ♥♥




Him with his favorite food of all time: dandelions! He's very upset that I put it on his head and then took a picture of him, but then he got to eat the dandelion so things were all good. Well... All less murderous. Look at that homicidal look in his little brown eye. You can also see his muted colors here. That's because this picture was taken after he'd been under one of his hides. The other two were taken after he'd been basking in his light. He turns such a gorgeous yellow when he does that! ♥

Can anyone tell how much I love lizards based on this post? xD I looooove lizards, they're so cool!

Who else did I mention? Ah, yes, little Blitz! Who's Blitz? She's our late dutch bunny. We knew nothing about her past going into her, just that we got her late March from someone who found her hopping around the neighborhood. After many lost pet signs and a couple weeks with that family, my partner and I were called in by his aunt who was a neighbor to the woman who found Blitz. We took her in because the woman had a dog that really wanted to chase Blitz (who they'd named Angel) and they weren't sure how to care for a bunny.

Blitz was a brave, sweet, stubborn, affectionate yet highly independent bun. She loved to get petted and I would spent upwards of half an hour just laying on the ground until my arms were tired petting and petting and petting the bun. We both loved it. Blitz would lay her head (and sometimes her whole front half!) in your lap and let you pet her. If you stopped prematurely, she'd stomp her foot and groan irritably. She also loved doing that if you didn't put her food down to her fast enough! She terrified my mom when my mother had to babysit while the partner and I took our pups on vacation, haha. My mom tried to hand feed her but Blitz honked and swiped at her whenever my mom got near her food, the greedy thing! So funny xD ♥

We're not sure why Blitz died. She was suffering from bloat which, despite our perfect diet (vet's words, not mine), just happens to bunnies sometimes. But after about 5 days of this, she developed a cough that turned... Well, I won't go into much detail, but the circumstances of her death were so very strange and it happened so suddenly. According to our vet (who didn't do an autopsy, I just had Blitz cremated and given back to us), rabbits are simply very fragile creatures. And even when you do everything you can, they sometimes just die. It was heartbreaking to lose such a funny, sassy baby from our family, but her and her beautiful blue eyes will be remembered always.

Here's a surprise guest! Our late cat, Mitzi. Her passing wasn't like Blitz's. Her passing was gradual and she simply was old. Kidney failure is what led to us putting her to sleep. She also had a strange protrusion above her eye that wasn't a tumor. Our very experienced vet had no idea what that was, but I didn't put pictures of that up here. Instead, I've got a few very sweet pics that show off her experience with us and her personality.

This was her first night with me. Wow, I had a twin bed back then. Still have that Pika pillow, though! She'd been living on the streets for at least half a year at this point. She was skinny, dirty, and beaten up from the other stray cats in the area (which led to an extreme hatred of cats from her). I'd never seen her this relaxed before I finally brought her in (I was living with my grandmother then. If it was just me, I would've taken her the first day after she'd slept on my porch all night). She got on my bed, laid across my Pika pillow, and fell right to sleep for the rest of the night.


This is her when I moved out on my own. I wound up having a penchant for putting bows on her collar (which she had because she broke out once and scared the hell out of me). She looked sooooo cute! I always changed her bows out and she never minded.


Sometimes Mitzi had room for fun.


.... Buuut she usually looked like this. We called her the demon cat because she looked perpetually pissed off.


She eventually went deaf and became the bravest cat to ever stand there and look at the vacuum like "uhh, no, you go AROUND me, I'm not moving". Mitzi would just sit there whenever we had repairmen or other large dudes come into the apartment to look at this or that. They were always impressed by Mitzi's ability to not care at all and FORCE them to walk around her!

And this is one of his favorite poses as I sit in my computer chair. He's so tall that he can just push himself right across my leg, no tip-toes or anything!

And finally, the moment cat lovers have been waiting for, the pic of my twin girls in their absolute favorite spot. Just look at how close they are to our 9 ft high ceilings! They love to sleep up here together. For some reason, though Cicero likes the hutch right beside the corner cabinet, he never goes up on top of it like the girls do. Dunno why.
