So uh, what's going on here? This is like, directly above the area I was carving out for my Hobbit Hole, meaning I can't really build anything on the surface if I want to.

That'd be me! I've had signs on the top there claiming the build space for awhile and nobody asked about it or said anything about it to me, so I've been slowly building it up every day.

Ah, well my attendance on the server hasn't really been great so I guess it makes sense I didn't notice.

So guys, thanks to the donation of Chace and Penta, I'll start slowly working on the road project I named Operation: Pathfinder.

And I have a suggestion. Would anyone like neighborhoods splitting up Detroit? Like make a subcommunity where the residents of that neighborhood could slowly build up their neighborhood to look flush and stuff? For example, the area where me and Juno are staying, we could call it Spruce Heights and we could grow tons of spruce trees and make a spruce tree farm for everyone's use? Or how about everyone living in the Roofed Forest biome, and call it Dark Forest? Or where Anna and the others are staying could be called the Plainlands? We could also make flags for each neighborhood which are based on the official flag of Detroit which we still need to create? What do you guys think?

I am actually working on a map similar to this already! If anyone wants to suggest names for certain locations, let me know!

Are we choosing names from the actual districts of Detroit or can the name be anything? In any case, can the area that includes my Diorite house be named Grand Circus Park? That's where Comerica Park is :D

Okay guys! This is the Detroit Points of Interest map! This is a concept and obviously the town will continue to change and grow as our border does, but this will be a fun way to make some neat landmarks and points of interest for guests and our own residents.

It should be fairly self-explanatory, but on the map, letters A through P are already pre-selected points of interest, only...many of them do not have names! This is where YOU all come in! Start thinking of some names at the locations available and consider which of our residents are close by. There's a forest near a few people, as well as a plains near several of you. Consider those people when thinking of names for unique and interesting locations.

As you can see, a few locations bear their founder's name. Klippith Observatory is named after Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles as it is the highest point on our map and has a nice lookout of the entire town and beyond. Border Watch Plains is named as such because it is the location you can view how our border is expanding and how long per border watch we have grown.

Think of some clever names and if your fellow residents love them too, we can add them to the Detroit Points of Interest map.

Also consider: Q through Z are available points of interest. If you would like to make your home, build site, landscape, or otherwise into a point of interest, simply post with your landmark's name and the location of your landmark (it should be obvious, otherwise it's not worth being a point of interest).

Beyond that, have fun with this! The map will be modified soon and will be in a semi-complete/beta stage once the current (A - P) landmark names have been selected officially AND when we have several "privately-owned" landmarks. :)

Ooh really nice map :o Detroit looks a lot bigger than I thought it did.

Would it be possible for me to reserve a point of interest between J and G, where the forest meets the plains? The closest house to that spot is mine, and nobody is building anything in that area.

I put forth the petition to name M, either Lake Sprucia or Lake Leijuno which the first one, coming from the obvious Spruce Woods, and the second one, coming from the two residents that are the nearest to the lake.

Also, can the area that encompasses Juno and my place be S, which I would suggest be named Spruce Heights?

Is it higher than the Community Storage and Observation Tower in the middle of town? Because the tower has a really nice view of everything as well (the top floor is open on all sides).

I like Spruce Heights. Although the "Heights" part doesn't really apply to me anymore since I razed down the hill that used to be there to build my house lol.

I've unofficially named my floating garden Little Eden, but it's quite small so I don't know if that needs to go on the map.

Btw, I put a bit more polished andesite in the chest, Leijon. c:

Also, ARE THERE NO CHICKENS IN DETROIT? I saw one way back but was too lazy to bring it home, and I've never seen one since. I don't even hear clucking in anyone's farms.

If Anna doesn't have any chickens, then no one has any chickens.

*smacks gavel* Motion accepted. Please submit the required documentation to the City Planning office and also provide a name for your newly dubbed point of interest.

If you and Juno can decide on the names for M and eventual S, then you two can pick what those are called. :)

K (or at least the general area) is my place :D It's pretty unfinished at the moment but I'd like it to be called The Ribbon. The name will make much more sense once I start making more progress :p

Yeah, it is (I think). But the tower is part of A.

There are noooo chickens at all. Our world border does not include any land with chicken, but I'm sure soon enough we'll hear the cluckers.

Would the area in between F and I be considered part of J?

Also I just lost ALL of my stuff because someone dug a hole really deep near my home. Who the **** did that!? I am so pissed right now! >:l I couldn't get down to it because surprise surprise all my gear was at the bottom of the hole!
Spoiler:

Next time show some common courtesy and plug up your holes.

My entry is complete. I have named it Necrum's Creepy Crypt.

Oh, Klippy, could you replace the Podzol in back of mine? I dug it up to try something but I didn't like it and now there's just dirt there.

I think we should rename C River Klippica. If you look at it from above (from the map), it looks more like a swelling in the river than a lake. We can call my castle "Citadel-on-the-Klippica" or "The Citadel" for short, the name's got an old-fashioned ring to it. We can give it Q.

As for L here are some suggestions:

"The Transklippican March"
"Transklippican Fields"
"The March"

I dunno, not too creative atm.

EDIT: so in addition to "Citadel-on-the-Klippica" I'm also considering "Citadel-on-the-river" and "Kanzler Hall".

I'm good with Spruce Heights for S, and probably Lake Leijuno for M just so they're not both spruce-related names.

Aw, that sucks. I want to bake cakes and build a bakery. One day.

And I have a suggestion - I highly recommend turning on Peaceful mode during the judging of the haunted houses for your own safety - a couple of us have purposely left our houses rather dark for the ambience and hostile mobs spawn in there all the time.

Anyway, if it's the same forest, it should be named Mudomo Forest. Mudomo being one of the tribes that were buried in Necrum. :D

I'm not going to be on for a couple days, lightning storm knocked out my dsl modem. It worked, sorta, for the past couple of days but it was constantly dropping connection every so often, though reconnecting fast enough for the issues to appear like a massive lag spike. Modem went out completely last night.

I'm using a satellite connection right now but the ping is extremely high so online games of any kind are pretty much undoable.

Also, I had chickens. I had them in one of my farms, but got rid of em since I decided to make the next two underground levels just for animals. I've got a few stacks of eggs in my inventory though, so next time I'm on I'll finish another level and start farming additional eggs for anyone interested.

Edit - Tried getting on to put the eggs where someone could get them, but the lag was a lot worse then I was expecting.
