[PokeCommunity.com] [PoTW #1] Giants of the Elements

    approved by h-staff.

Come R/S/E, we were introduced to three giants. One ruled over water, the other ruled over land, and then we met the final one, the master of the atmosphere. These three have impacted us as not only the keepers of the main three life-giving elements, but as the cover legendaries for our favorite region am I right? They differ immensely from appearance, to abilities, to types, everything you can imagine.

Of course, as with everything in life we all have preferences.

Who of our three element masters is your favorite? Will it be the colossal magma lord? The aquatic titan? How about the O-zone's serpentine protector? Why? What makes you like that specific one?

    Discuss!

I really like all three. I'd go as far to say they're my favorite box art trio, haha. But since I have to pick one, I'm going with Kyogre. I guess I'm a bit biased because I played Sapphire, but I just find it more appealing than the other two. It's design is so sleek and majestic and the sea is mysterious. Plus I just really love the name. idk. Is that a good reason? lol

Despite Emerald being my first game, it was always Groudon that I liked more. Probably some of that comes from how cool it was animated in the sixth movie, but also because it was the first of the trio that I actually caught. And despite my general affinity for water and loyalty to Aqua, Groudon's typing, ability, and design just were always cooler to me. (hah)

Ever since I saw Kyogre and Groudon, I went to Kyogre because blue was my favorite color at that time. The fact that it's one of the most dominant Ubers made me like it even more.

Rayquaza is my most favorite of the three, without a doubt. I like its design, and personally, I've always felt that it was as powerful as the likes of Mewtwo and Arceus, whether it actually be true or not statistically. Its primal or mega form might not have been revealed yet, but if Groudon and Kyogre have gotten one, I'm sure Rayquaza will get one, too, eventually, and I'm really looking forward to that.

For me it's a toss up between the three. I love Groudon's plate like lines and his colossal look even though it's not that tall. Also I like Kyogre because of her blue sapphire color, and the contrasting red lines. I love Rayquaza because she screams power with her majestic movements in the sky. In the end I think that perhaps Rayquaza wins, mostly due to that scene from Emerald...and maybe Emerald itself.

I voted Kyogre, because it's blue and I love Water-types. Also, it's the one that can make full use of its STABs thanks to the rain boosting its Water attacks, plus it gives Thunder perfect accuracy. It's pretty much hard to take down if you're not prepared, and its Primal form looks even more awesome.

I voted for Rayquaza seeing at it is somehow the strongest of them all, the mediator, the auspistice between Kyogre and Groudon, and tbh Rayquaza looks totally majestic. I might choose Kyogre second of them haha xD

voted for Kyogre. saw that Kyogre is one point ahead. MY VOTE IS DECISIVE

Anyway I have to say all three are epic, and I'm not considering Rayquaza because there isn't an official primal forme released yet for ol' Ray.

But at a customary glance I must say I was moved when I saw Kyogre's new design. I mean, the new splash of colour and the alpha sign... seriously, why isn't the 'modern' Kyogre like that? Groudon was... well, up to expectations as I thought the design was sufficient for a mega.

And anyway, I've used Kyogre in the originals where I loved to spam Thunder (higher PP than Water Spout) during Drizzle to beat the pulp out of all who don't resist it. Then I learnt about STAB and rain power, and I used Water Spout instead, and at full HP it was an almost assured KO for anyone who stood in the way. I let me Kyogre hold Mystic Water and gave the PP Max and Kyogre was just OP...

As of now, Kyogre stands on one of my tops as he combines powerful moves with a powerful bulk and ability to dish out powerful blows. Any notwithstanding Pokémon would then be soaked and soaked and soaked... for eternity. Not to mention freezing. Or lighting-struck. Aruggh why don't they tell us what he can do with the new forme yettttt

I'm hoping that Groudon becomes Ground/Fire and Kyogre becomes Water/Ice, though.

I chose Kyogre. It is the strongest Pokemon in the game. Plus water is an amazing STAB. It's design is the coolest one imo. Ever since I've know about it, It's always been my favorite legendary. It's primal form looks Awesome too.

Rayquaza for me. I love the design, colour (both regular and shiny) and that it's the kind of mediator between the other two. Emerald was also the only Hoenn game I had, so Rayquaza being the box art and therefore first Hoenn legendary I was introduced to played a big part in me liking it best :)

Between the other two I like Groudon a lot more, mainly for design but also cause it learns Solarbeam which is one of my favourite moves :)

Kyogre's and Groudon's formes look super cool, but they will never be as cool as Rayquaza. Its my favorite type and mascot of my favorite game, and its position as ruler of the skies is pretty cool. So its got my vote, always. Sorry others!

I hate Groudon because I don't like sunlight or heat. (but really I love Groudon he's my broski <3)

I love the rain so therefore Kyogre is the best

But sometimes clear days are nice, and Rayquaza is just a sexy beast with a sexier shiny form, so I'm going with him. d:

I suppose it's time for me to respond with my own opinion then!

I'm definitely going to have to go with our serpentine guardian. I'm a huge fan of reptilian creatures, especially ones that resemble dragons. Though.. wings wouldn't exactly suit them I don't think. XD; Anyway! I like their design the most out of the three, how they stalk through the air like a snake, and their power over air is even more OP than land and water. What's not to like? :D

I am so pumped for Rayquaza's Primal form. gkdjgk.

Kyogre is my pick. In games, the Water element is always my first choice, so I tend to gravitate towards that type of Pokemon, and this beast is basically the most powerful of them all! Ruler of the seas, and a positively epic design make up this wonderful creature. Groudon and Rayquaza are cool, no doubt, but this goliath of the ocean wins in my book. Also, quite a threat in the Ubers tier of competitive battling!

I've always thought Kyogre was really cool but Rayquaza's been my favorite ever since he was on my Pokemon Emerald team as a frontrunner, prior to being a victim of random deletion while I was using the cloning glitch. Sad story really. Anyway, I love his design and his versatility and his cry and he's really awesome in general, no downsides!

Gotta go with the dragon. Besides having the coolest shiny color palette of the three (though purple Kyogre is pretty nice as well), Rayquaza's got a really interesting design and has always been the most difficult for me to obtain (especially since my Pokemon were underleveled when I faced it often). It's also pretty good at handling the other two, and it even stopped a meteor from falling in PMD RRT/BRT XD Looking forward to seeing what Primal Rayquaza will be like~

Design-wise, I like Groudon better. It just seems so manly with his magma and lava. Kyogre, however, I had more fun using in battles. Primarily because I really do like rain teams, in-game and competitively.

Rayquaza never just appealed to my senses. Although I do like its shiny coloring.
