there are like a bunch of questions that I suddenly had after I realized I can never find the report button right away anymore lmao. It used to be on the postbit didn't it? Along with the post comment button? That's another thing I still can't find half the time even when it's there.

So how often do you report? How long did it take you to get used to the new spot for the button? Am I the only one that can never find it? What are the most common reports you find yourself sending? If you don't report then why don't you?

It kind of depends. I do make reports every now and again if the forum is on lesser active side of things, but if we're talking about a board that's often visited by others--ROM Hacking or Video Games, for example--I'll usually assume the report has already been made, so I don't wind up doing anything (it likely wouldn't mean much if I do, haha).

Very rarely have I ever had to report anybody. I don't see as many idiots that post senseless stuff, and as mentioned above it's likely that someone else could already have dealt with the matter at hand. So, again, not commonly.

@ashley I see where you're coming from with the more active forums but tbh if I modded a v active forum I would rather more people be reporting in it than less? Like if multiple people report then it's like yay I got this covered but what if everyone is assuming someone else reported and the forum is far too busy for me to read every single post like I had done with PokeAni? then it goes unmentioned and unresolved :/

@pendra it's not just people being a bit dumb that needs reports though! things in wrong sections, suggested interventions, suggested thread merges etc can all be reported!

By the time I get to reporting something, it's already been reported. That's why I usually just let someone else do it. I always have a hard time finding it at times too. I do know it's important because it helps the staff but... I'm slow. XD

The report button is actually very easy for me to find, but must be a forum skin thing. Still, I always like to use it when I catch a rule-breaker because sometimes the mod may not be able to catch everything and reporting is like you're giving them a helping hand in a way.

I use it quite frequently I think! I don't sit around and look for things to report because I kinda feel bad for members who have posts that are reported for simple mistakes, but if I see one I make sure to let a moderator know. As a previous mod I know how difficult it can be to have to feel the need to read through every thread multiple times a day to make sure nothing is going wrong. Being able to be notified in advance because someone else noticed it is really helpful!

I've made a total of one report. I was never one to go about reporting everything I see that people did wrong. I figured that if I had seen it then someone else or a mod had too and it was either reported or they thought it was fine and decided to leave it so I didn't bother with it.

I've been using the same theme all my PC life, so I kinda memorize its location now... Yeah, really, I don't think I'll be switching from Winter Friends any time soon lol. I don't browse around that much to report a post, but I always report posts I see that breaks the rules.

I report if I feel like something merits moderator attention; but only then. I don't suppose my report count is very high really. Honestly I worry more that I might be wrong about reporting than not so I don't unless it's blatant or I'm reasonably certain.

As for the location I've always been able to find it quickly enough...so no complaints here. For me I use Lets Fly Together [Legacy] personally as I do not prefer the PC 2.0 look at all. Sorry, call me old or stubborn but I find the legacy layout more functional to me.

So as it is I see it in the top right hand corner next to the post # and link icon. I know it's moved in the past; so it's not like I won't be able to find it again if I get stuck with a modern theme...I just prefer the legacy one for now.

I have no trouble finding it and I use it whenever I come across trouble in other sections than my own two.

Don't assume someone else sees it, guys! It's much better with an overflow of reports than a risk of no reports at all.

    huge reportwhore
"Report whore made me laugh so hard. XD

    Anyways,
I've never used it. Ever. I don't see why I should use. If there's something I've learnt from the internet, it's that not to get offended on the internet. The insult is not worth aything. It's on the freaking internet. If it was in real life, maybe that would mean something. I actually don't even know where the report button, but I really don't need to, because I never use it.

I report when there's something that needs to be reported. As a former staff from other forums, I would appreciate it a lot if people send in reports. It really helps a lot than checking every posts and threads, since we were required to check the hot thread of the sections we're in charge of. Grrrr.

I've only considered it once, a couple months back, shortly before I decided to leave the Treehouse. Reasons why I decided against it:
    - it's the Treehouse
    - people like that person, so they propably wouldn't bother deleting said post
    - it's the Treehouse
    - I left that hell hole shortly after, anyway

    ^ Same.

I've reported a lot of posts.

It can be very amusing to see the reasons people give when reporting something.
