    Battle of the Bands

    VIP community members, break out your guitars and belt out some strong notes, as you're about to enter into the VIP Forum Battle of the Bands: 2000's Edition! You think your artist is the best of the best? Well put them to the test here! In typical tournament fashion, we will see which artist was the best artist of the 2000 era (i.e. 2000-2009.) So what are you waiting for: fill out the application today and rock on friend!

    Rules

    • Each user is allowed to nominate one artist during the 2000's era. This doesn't necessarily have to an artist who started their career in the 2000's era. However, all songs chosen must have been published between 2000-2009.
    • With every win in the tournament, a new song from the same artist must be chosen. For instance, if my artist was Mumford and Sons, I could pick Little Lion Man for one week and then Babel for the next week. Once Little Lion Man was picked for a week, I could not use it again - so plan your songs wisely!
    • Users each week will vote on their favorite songs. The artist/song that amasses the most votes per week will move on to the next round.

    Prizes

    1st Place: The ability to create a winner emblem based on their artist, a $10 Supportership or gift card towards Steam or video game console equivalent, and a virtual hug from me.
    2nd Place: The ability to create a participate emblem based on their artist, a $5 Supportership or gift card towards Steam or video game console equivalent, and a virtual high five from me.
    3rd Place: The ability to choose the next "Battle of the Bands" contest​

    Reason: Because this artist is the sound of the times. While he got his start in the '90s; he really rose in the '00s and became a noteworthy artist who voiced the era. He released 4 albums in the '00s and was a big voice during it.

    Best of luck everyone! I may take part in the future but for now I'm fine with just voting, and it looks like some of you may be well on track to getting a vote from me, but we'll see.
     
    Maybe it's just me, but I'm unclear how the rounds are going to work. The winner of this round moves on to the next round? Does that mean that all the rest have to choose a new song and the winning song gets to compete in the next round? Or is it just a bunch of rounds with the same artists and new songs each time and it's whichever artist wins the most rounds is the winner?
     
    I'm pretty sure the one who gets the most votes moves to the next round, just like another music-related event Matt runs (the Daily Bloggity Radio Jams). I'm sure he'll be able to help explain how the competition will work.
