Spinners

These are overworld trainers that will move around or turn in many directions/even spin instead of staying in one static position. Avoiding these trainers from seeing you so you don't have to trigger a battle with them can sometimes be quite the challenge.

What is your opinion on "spinner" npcs in Pokemon games? I find them especially annoying. I sometimes wait for them to face the other direction but a lot of the time when I'm walking they'll turn as soon as I walk near them so I can't avoid battling them. Trainers that are stationary (unless stationed in a completely unavoidable corner) you can just walk around to avoid, but these trainers that move around are not as easy.

During normal playthroughs I pretty much just fight every trainer I see lol
And I don't do challenge runs so, that's pretty much it =p

So I guess I don't mind them. They have inconvenienced me a few times where I wanted to run back to a Poke Center to heal my mons, and then I'd be stuck in a fight I can't avoid and be forced to use items to heal instead (usually due to ledges or the like preventing me from avoiding them). This is pretty much the only scenario where I'd temporarily try to avoid them tbh.

Yea, pretty much the same as what ReKoil said for me too. I try to fight every single trainer I can so they're only really annoying when I'm trying to rush to the Pokemon Center. There aren't really even that many trainers on a route for it to be an issue (except ones like those incredibly long ones in Hoenn before and after Fortree City)

i fight everyone, so they don't typically bother me unless i'm avoiding them for a particular reason. some of them just look in each direction a few seconds and they're easy to get past - the trick to getting past these trainers is to NOT run. running alerts trainers that change positions into looking in your direction and they'll always see you. some of them do have more erratic patterns though, but still, just don't run and you can hopefully manage to get past them.

Ok its not my imagination. I don't use this word that often I'm a natural pasafist but. I absolutely hate them. You could be really into the story on you way to who knows where to stop ghetsus or maxie and then this random trainer not even a grunt shows up and challenges you

I'm so glad I don't mind and enjoy battling because otherwise these trainers seem like they could be annoying to people, lol. But there are very occasional times where I just want to pass someone (like if my Pokémon are at low HP and I want to heal) but they turn around to face me right as I try to walk past. Those ones are so mean. :')

like some in this thread, i tend to fight every trainer unless my pokemon are low on health, in which case spinning trainers tend to be rather annoying to avoid. :x

I'm doing a playthrough where I'm trying to avoid as many trainers as possible, though, which is why I made this thread, tbh.
