SUPPORTER COLORS

Not this crap again...

[PokeCommunity.com] SUPPORTER COLORS

I've gone through two color changes. Isn't that enough?

I'm glad i wasnt around for that many changes haha
But really i dont see any issues with the current system as i love being gold and i dont need to figure out a new system im still learning things as it is! The only thing i dont like is that crystal looks pretty much the same as the regular blue for regular members except italicizes but thats my issue and im willing to accept it instead of having the entire system changed yet again for probably the 6th time haha. Also most people enjoy the different colors and would probably dread a single color ik id hate to lose my gold tier color but for those people who have donated over 100 they kinda deserve to be recognized although i dont agree with paying more for a color but then again my supportmanship was donated to me. And how would a single uniform color help? Its not all too confusing with the current system is it? And for the most part a lot of people seem to like it :) but there will always be people who dont like it and its impossible to please everyone if PC did change it again about 70%-90% of users would probably complain which i dont need to explain how bad that would be. Also i agree with team fails post :3

I don't like how dull the colours are, at all. Crystal and silver are solid but gold looks like chestnut acrylic paint, and platinum... ugh. It's too light and fluffy. It needs to be more solid. Also, where are our userbars? I want those back!

But yeah, those are my only issues. I'm game for all the usernames being lumped together with one colour, whatever colour that is, or having us spread apart with different hues (considering my earlier note). It's all fair game to me, meh.

Personally I'd rather MORE color options be added than less.

Like have a set of three colors for each tier; with the ability to stay with a lower tier's color if you liked it. So if you're like me and are Crystal, you get 9 choices. And yes I think that the fact that supporters are italics only makes them differentiated enough to be able to reuse other group colors; or at least venture close to them.

So it'd be like:
Silver
Regular
Silver
[Alternate Color #1]
Gold - Includes above choices and these three:
Gold
[Alternate Color #2]
[Alternate Color #3]
Crystal - Includes above and these three:
Crystal
[Alternate Color #4]
[Alternate Color #5]
Platinum - Includes all of the above and:
Platinum
[Alternate Color #6]
[Alternate Color #7]

While it could seem enticing to have a color choice, the main problem is that it could confuse those members who are new to the forums, and they need to know how to identify a staff member. If we have too many colors they could get easily confused and think "I don't know if this member is staff or non-staff because I need them to help but I want to make sure it's the right person to ask my question to".

I understand the concern but the userbars/titles make the ranks clear; and staff are the only ones with bolded names

Basically this would be lovely, haha. Not sure I think Platinum tier should get even more options though. That's kind of the hidden extra rank, right?

Colors are nice, and lets us express ourselves. PC isn't just a forum for asking questions and getting answers, it's a place for showing off who you want to be just like you'd do with clothes or hairstyles in the "real world". Really. ToggleCommunity

@ Hikari's concern, have you actually met a member who is confused about who is staff and who is not? Because I haven't. As default when you register on the forums, there's also big badges saying "Moderator" under our usernames, while supporters don't have any badges (as of now). This confusion seems to me like a myth.

I know I've had several newcomers who confused me for a mod, it was really evident when the supporters used to all have the same shade of "too similar to mods" blue. Granted I am someone who's an active poster in TWL and somehow do posts that have a very "helping hand" vibe to them (so it's something I'm familiar with) but yeah some do struggle with knowing the supporters' roles at first.

I'm still wondering why the old steel blue was even changed to begin with.

Still strikes me as unnecessary but whatever.

inb4 all colors are removed and you'll have to switch to a different PC skin if you want a special link/username color

There's a toggle (<3) in your options where you can turn off usergroup marking already, actually. No colors for anybody. However, I think that feature was broken last time I checked. Since some people love colors, this is the best solution for those who don't, yeah?

Although, I guess the italic and bold disappears too, then.

Sorry if this is offtopic but when was 'Platinum' added to the Supporter tiers? I don't even remember.
When some people donated so much over the Crystal tier that it felt nice to reward them with a "secret" tier. But we can't exactly keep going forever with extra tiers and ask people to donate ridiculous amounts towards this pokémon fansite. So the line seems to be drawn at Crystal tier being the highest official rank. At least this is what I've heard, but it might also be Rukario being bored some late night and adding another tier for fun. Stranger things have happened.

I believe just to help differentiate between mod and supporter easier, but really it wasn't that difficult.

I'm okay with these colors though maybe something brighter gold would be great. So I'm down with the alternate colors idea.
