swearing

I pretty much never swear. I just feel like it's unattractive, and it's kind of a turn off for me when other people do it too excessively (unless they use swear words in humorous ways xD)

But...swear words have been known to slip out when I get really upset D:

"Bitch" is one of my most-said words, like I call my close friends as well as my closer enemies that ;3 I usually swear for the moment, and when it's all smack talk, etc. I don't like to overdo f-bombs because, c'mon, it's not the only vulgar word to exist! XD

It's actually odd that when I truly get mad (like when someone has crossed the line for me), I don't swear at all. Apparently, this happens, so all my friends tell me.

Most of the time I only swear when I get upset...either that or when I go on a tangent. I used to be really bad with it but I've since then toned it down.

I don't swear a whole lot. I'm in locker rooms a lot and have two older brothers, along with parents who swear so it doesn't bother me. It's something I don't do unless I'm comfortable with you. It's most often just a sh** or da**.

I personally feel that they are just words and can show more emotion. They mean the same things as other words as far as denotation, they just have a stronger connotation.

I'm very bad with profanity. I use it in half of my sentences. =\ There is rarely a sentence where I'm not using one. I need to control it.

I don't swear much at all, I'm pretty good at keeping my tongue pretty tame. I slip up, of course, but I've gotten much much better than I was in years past.

Depends upon the company I am with. Professional? Not professional? Family? New acquaintances?

I almost always avoid "goddammit" and "jesus christ" as well as any racial term as a general rule. But, for "fuck" sake, if language is neutral to any social identity, in an informal setting, I don't give a "shit".

Though, that's assuming it isn't directed at someone, like, "fuck my life" is different from "fuck you". Similarly, calling some a "piece of shit" is different from describing a "shitty situation". I only call someone a curse word when they are a close friend and it is totally sarcastic (or involves a dorky pun). So, tread lightly and think about how you say and phrase something, and when to just avoid it all together.

Similarly, in heated situations, inserting a curse word can just aggravated things, since others might perceive them as being directed at them or their actions. When in doubt, just refrain.
