The Daily Chit-Chat, Chat-Chit, Chit-Chit, Chot-Chut Choot Shoot Chute Thread

I kinda agree on this. Then everyone's gonna want a shortcut to their most frequent sections. It's just plain simple to bookmark the page. It takes 1 second to do so.
But bookmarks clog up my toolbar... You could subscribe without a email notification. Then just use subscriptions on the homepage.

Thanks for bringing this up Penatrait. The reason I suggested this in the community forum was because DCC has a really big legacy here on PC and I just thought it would be nice to have a shortcut for the members and to have it memorialized on the front page (even if it is only a link under the description of Other Chat). Yall should also go post in the actual thread a voice your opinions there.

And also what I posted in my thread was that it can really help get new users more active and more acquainted with the forum faster. DCC can be a little less threatening than some of the more specific forums....so it would be nice to highlight it on the main page.

If we let it have a shortcut based on the principle of how active it's been over x amount of time, are we drawing a mark? Because then other threads who manage to reach the same popularity or importance (important enough for a crowd of people to be debating over whether or not it deserves a shortcut lol), should we not give those threads shortcuts too?

I just find it to be a bit too specific for no reason. Hey all of a sudden the DCC gets a shortcut on the first page as a memorial! It's so random. If shortcuts were something to be introduced to PC, I would much rather be able to choose myself where I get to shortcut. If not, then I don't really think any particular threads should be getting any favouritism over other threads, regardless of how popular and for how long it has been lasting.

And I can't help but feel it's a bit ironic that the one thread we choose to praise at PC is one that probably discusses Pokemon the least.

Many threads might reach the popularity, but not gain the significance. DDC has been around the beginning...and in the world of an online message board where things can change drastically within a month or even a week...that is something to be said when ONE particular thread can last more than 8 years.

If we're considering significance and length of survival, I would rank the DCC straight up there with a few of our games in Other Trivia. Threads like "The One Above" or "Ban the Person Above" have been around since we all can remember, and in fact always travel from Forum to Forum. You'll find those types of threads in any forum that has a booming community and an equivalent to PC's off-topic discussion board.

The DCC is no different. It, too, passes from board to board. Although you might argue that Other Trivia is just composed of mindless games, the DCC is composed of nothing more than chit-chat. Am I wrong?

Giggle....it's kind of silly to talk about the DCC in the DCC thread...

Anyway: it seems like MLP is a fad again...oh no...

They might have been around just as long, but they don't have nearly as much activity than the DCC. Just putting that in. While the DCC is chit-chatting, far more people journey here than Other Trivia as a whole on a daily/weekly basis, whatever the case is.
