Chit-Chat: the daily chit-chat (jan2019 - jun2019)

I'm used to live chat since I've been using it since the IRC days (assuming there's anyone around here that still remembers those lmao). So that's why I don't mind Discord, really.

discord is evolution, baby

I've heard some shady things about the Discord admins (of Discord as a whole, not the PC server) but the service itself is probably the smoothest way to chat online. I'll take traditional forums over sites like reddit any day though.

I don't mind browsing reddit, but I do feel like it's kind of an impersonal way to chat online compared to forums. I joke that the lack of avatars is a big reason, but really it feels like everyone is an anonymous face compared to smaller forum communities where there's more opportunities to get to know each other in not quite as fast-paced setting. Then again, I realize not every subreddit is the same and perhaps this kind of feeling can be had with certain subreddits, as well.

Discord to me is what Battle.Net was back in the day(if anyone played Diablo 1/2, Starcraft 1 or Warcraft 2/3). Then add in IM and being able to stay in touch via Mobile and its the next step or Evolution. Discord, in effect, is the perfect medium for gamers. I'm just old enough to remember Forums, IRC(yes I know it, never really did it though) and old school IM like AIM, MSN and programs such as Trillian that merged them all together lol.

Silly.

I regret volunteering myself to be on 'standby' for a cover shift today, just not feeling it. Praying that the guy actually shows up for his shift, but not hopeful.

Man I really hope that the place I applied to this weekend gets back to me this week!
