.... Is there really not a thread about the bird?
initially we all thought it was Fletchling but on closer inspection that's 100% a new bird Pokemon. it has a large tuft on the back of its head that Fletchling lacks, and when the wireframe's model gets a texture applied to it, you can see it has zygodactyl feet-- which means two toes in the front and two toes in the back. Here's Fletchling for comparison:
considering this new bird has zygodactyl feet, its species can be narrowed down to only a few kinds. (most birds have three twos in the front, one in the back)
a woodpecker, owl, cuckoo, or parrot all have the same type of feet. i'm thinking woodpecker, definitely.
