Alright, before I say anything else, Sheep allowed me to make a new thread because my old one was spammed by certain people whom I won't name. This time, I want this thread to STAY ON TOPIC, and make it about ME, and NOT have jerks spamming it and liking rude posts. Any spam posts will be reported faster than you can blink. I'm serious, let's keep it clean this time. (So until I have a better or more creative title for the thread, this is what i'll stick with.)

Anyway, my name's Scott. I'm 23 years old, and currently possess an English major at a private college in Pennsylvania. I was formerly a communications major, but I changed that one at the suggestion of my professors claiming they would be a lot of work, more than they believed I could handle after a while. English is still worth something for me because i've heard there are plenty of jobs out there an English major can do for you.

Speaking of which, one important thing about me that I may have shared in the past is that I have ADHD, and I learn differently from a lot of people. I used to not get along very well with other people in real life, so I had to go to a private school that had more support for people with disabilities.

As for Pokémon related matters, I have been into Pokémon since basically the beginning with the original RBY, and have played every version since. My favorite generation is surely the fifth generation, with Black and White and Black 2 and White 2, given the former's story, the utilization of only new Pokémon, and final battles with N and Ghetsis. And the latter's great variety of Pokémon, the wide post-game among other aspects make them my favorites in the series. XY are a close second, though (with my order being B2W2, XY and BW). My three favorite Pokémon would be Lapras, Scolipede and Houndoom, which I can expand on more if necessary.

I joined Smogon way back in 2005, but there I was highly looked down upon and always getting busted there for being stupid. I did re-join a few years later when DP were a thing but wasn't quite as active. And I joined the Marriland forums back in 2012, and I still post there but not quite as much as I tend to here nowadays. I watch his videos, and have since his Pokémon Diamond Adventure in 2007 - today with his Nuzlocke and Wedlocke series done with HD recording programs, his commentary and style of playing has gotten more engaging than ever. But I found this forum while I was watching some Monotype videos, and stumbled across that of a certain user here who was doing one for this forum, so I wanted to join. Next thing you know, bam, i'm here at PC. In general, when it comes to Pokémon i'm more a challenger than a casual player, one that likes to do things like Nuzlockes, Monotypes, Mono-Colors and especially Wedlockes. I do still play my main copies of White 2 and X every so often, though. I've completed the Pokédex on both of them and have lots of bred Pokémon on those two.

But as for other hobbies and interests, I mostly like listening to music, being outside and walking, writing, and other things. I am a bit of a sports person, not as much as my dad and brother but I do like watching them rather regularly.

Well, now that i'm done telling you things i'm sure nobody cares about, with that said, ask away! Except this time, let's be normal people here, okay? Sounds good.

Of all the Pokemon Marriland used in his Nuzlocke/Wedlocke videos, what was your fave Pokemon that he used?

What was the most heartbreaking death in any of your Wedlocke challenges?

Do you think Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire will be the best remakes ever? If not, what flaws do you think could be present?

That's a great question. I have three in particular:

Salad the Bellossom (Emerald Nuzlocke) - A surprising one, i'm sure, but I really liked how he used Bellossom late in the game. It fared him really good and was quite effective at taking Ice Beams, and I liked his usage in the Champion battle. Not to mention although it was a male Bellossom, it was still kickass.

Ninjarisu the Pachirisu (Platinum Nuzlocke) - Who would have thought Pachirisu would ever see the light of day? I sure didn't, and this one was a big standout using moves like Charm, and having Electric-type attacks that came in handy against foes like Crasher Wake and Cyrus. Also, he was one of the only two that remained after Cynthia.

Turkey the Garbodor (Black Wedlocke) - Again, this is probably the last thing you could count on him to use. You could just see how unenthusiastic it was when he was forced to throw this thing on the team, but I would never believe that a Garbodor would do so incredibly against two Elite Four members and N. Although it died untimely against Ghetsis' Bouffalant, it wouldn't have lasted because he still had a Bisharp. Didn't make it any less awesome, though!

I'd list more but this post is about to get a bit long as it is.

What was the most heartbreaking death in any of your Wedlocke challenges?

I don't think one death will be enough to answer that.

That Pokémon Center restrictions run in X I did last fall, that was just a nightmare. I don't even know where to begin with that… To start, after I arrived in Shalour City, I was at the Gym and I was at the last trainer before Korrina. I kept asking myself before then if I should give my Scolipede Swords Dance instead of Screech (which was about to run out of PP), but I opted not to. The last trainer had a Hariyama. I miss with Screech and she uses Belly Drum. Poison Jab, she lives with a sliver of health, and Smelling Salts OHKO's me. Thing was 12 EXP from Level 31. So, my main weapon for Korrina dies at literally the VERY LAST SECOND, ONE HIT POINT from her. It was a gigantic slap in the face. That was the last death until Frost Cavern, and between there and before the Anistar Gym it was a bloodbath. Things just kept getting worse until Victory Road, where I made undoubtedly the stupidest decision I have ever made in any Nuzlocke or Wedlocke of mine ever, which is what made Chrysemis the Blastoise by far THE saddest death I had to put myself through.

For White I didn't have many deaths (six in total, one against Grimsley and two to Ghetsis), but my Simisear was an unfortunate one as I could have avoided it by giving Grass Knot to it to take Cheren's Simipour on Twist Mountain. (Maybe not, considering it was raining, but still.)

As for White 2, I don't know. I'd have to say Andromeda, my Crobat which died against Ghetsis. Considering how she lived by the skin of her teeth against Colress, and the fact that I really didn't know what to do when the time came to fight Kyurem and Ghetsis, I just felt entangled in what I had to do and ended up losing her and her partner. Aside from that, there was also Hercules the Aggron, although that was more jarring than heartbreaking (missing against my rival's Simipour with Rock Slide while I had +2 Attack and Speed). Although I did lose Grus, my Unfezant, against Iris, that one wasn't as tragic, but probably only because it was the final fight and I knew full well how weak to Ice my team was.

In my second go of X, arguably my Azumarill. When I took on Clemont my team was horribly weak to Electric and had to go with my gut feeling using my Fairy duo. His Magneton had used Electric Terrain after being knocked to Sturdy, and I didn't even think about how long that would last. I could have tried to stall it out with Dig, and my Florges' Protect, but I didn't and they both died against Heliolisk. Thankfully the Quick Claw activated and I got off a Bulldoze, otherwise my Greninja most likely would have died too. So that one considering I didn't think to attempt to stall out Electric Terrain, and I could have saved him had I done so.

And then we have Heart Gold, I think one of the toughest for me was Horn the Fearow, given (although I told you about this one already) I could have gotten rid of that Sitrus Berry from Chuck's stupid Poliwrath had I gave him Pluck, and then I would have taken it from there. But Saxophone the Tentacool was one that almost made me quit on the spot, given it was to a wild Goldeen during training, that hit with a critical hit Flail after I hit myself in confusion when I could have just fled. That one infuriated me so much, you have no idea.

Do you think Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire will be the best remakes ever? If not, what flaws do you think could be present?

They very well could be, if they keep the Battle Frontier that will surely be a blast with the new things in this generation, and i'm sure they'll make some nice new additions like they did with HGSS. I just hope they make training more bearable than in the original games, that's part of the reason why RSE are my least favorites in the series (well, aside from GSC, but those are really only because they have remakes). Additionally, we saw that the Gym Leaders may be getting a nerf, so we'll have to see what happens.

Out of all the online communities you've been to, which one has given you the most enjoyable experience?

What generation would you say is the best to do challenges in?

And where does the name "Pendraflare" come from?

Out of all the online communities you've been to, which one has given you the most enjoyable experience?

I've been to several, there was one back in like 2005-2007 that I was at for a while, it was decent but there were some people I didn't like there but as I may have mentioned that site went defunct. I'd honestly say either Marriland or this, because i've gotten the most acquainted on these two sites (and the former because of how i've tuned in to his walkthroughs and videos).

What generation would you say is the best to do challenges in?

That's a good question. I think Gen V, with Audino and the Lucky Egg, and having some challenging opponents in BW (especially N and Ghetsis), and while B2W2 isn't as tough on Normal Mode, if you have Challenge Mode it makes that more fun, and even without that it has lots of stuff for you to use. Platinum is another good one as well, given the Vs Seeker, some challenging Gym Leaders and of course Cynthia. I want to say XY, as well, given the abundance of Pokémon to choose from but (and a certain user mentioned this) that can also make it harder to choose between six that you would settle on, not only that but the Gym Leaders aren't as strong as most other games. But at the same time it does give you a chance to use your favorites :P

And where does the name "Pendraflare" come from?

Scolipede's Japanese name (Pendror) + flare, part of a previous name I used.

Hi Stargazer! Questions coming your way.

What are you planning to do with your English major?

Good question - i've heard there are quite a few things I can get with that, but i'm thinking I may become a journalist and write about events.

How do you cope with your ADHD today? How does it affect your everyday life?

Honestly there's not much to it, I get help from advisors and just do my work as I need to. But I find myself having a hard time attempting to talk with other people, so you can say that's one way it affects me.

What kind of sports do you play/watch?

Well I don't play any today, but I did play soccer a long time ago (when I was not even 10, to be exact). But as for what I watch, I like NFL, NBA and MLB, sometimes we check out college football and basketball as well. I've been to the stadium at my college for some before, even.

What strategies do you use for Lapras, Scolipede, and Houndoom, assuming you use them in your main battle team? If so, then how do you cover their weaknesses in order to put up a good fight?

Now that OR/AS is out, I think it's time for new questions!

What surprised you the most in the remakes compared to the original versions?

Any particular plans you have for your next challenges?

Who do you think are the hardest opponents in the game so far, in terms of general difficulty and also likely "Nuzlocke Killers"?

Speaking of which, one important thing about me that I may have shared in the past is that I have ADHD, and I learn differently from a lot of people. I used to not get along very well with other people in real life, so I had to go to a private school that had more support for people with disabilities.

Synerjee already asked a bit about this, but just a few more (I have my own mental health disorders, so I'm curious about others'):

    - How did ADHD affect your learning style exactly?
    - How were you diagnosed, and when?
    - Do you feel that if people know about your ADHD that they stigmatize you?

Wow i've ignored this thread... The first two questions I saw quickly but never got around to them. Time to do something about that! (And I apologize for the notifications that this is about to spam some of you with...)

What has been your favorite challenge to participate in?

I really don't know, but I do have to say I liked the mini-challenge events like the Stadium Arcadium, Sableye's Carnie Games and Delibird's Stocking Stuffers. But I really enjoyed using my team from the Haunter challenge in the Carnival of Horrors, as well as the GT11 back in July. There are so many teams that I can't pick just one.

If you could repeat one event over in your life to get a different outcome, which event would you choose and why?

Another question that's hard for me to really answer. I guess I can't think of many things I would like to have had gone differently for me.

    Favorite NFL team?

Well I don't have a specific favorite (yeah, you can tell I should have answered this sooner) and although i'd like to say the Eagles since they're from my home state...yeah, they did better this season but still came short. So I can't really determine. No preference here.

What strategies do you use for Lapras, Scolipede, and Houndoom, assuming you use them in your main battle team? If so, then how do you cover their weaknesses in order to put up a good fight?

Sorry to say...but i'm not really a competitive battler. Can't really answer this, sorry :x But in-game I mostly give them coverage moves, except Houndoom who can learn Will-O-Wisp, and I guess Scolipede can learn (Toxic) Spikes and Baton Pass. So yeah.

Now that OR/AS is out, I think it's time for new questions!

What surprised you the most in the remakes compared to the original versions?

Well, there was being able to get Latios/Latias on Southern Island, and how many more characters were introduced, and at least the fact that Brendan/May and Wally have more to them than they did in the first games. Not to mention being able to take on Deoxys, too. That was fun.

Any particular plans you have for your next challenges?

Well I already did a Wonderlocke on Alpha Sapphire, which i'll post the last part of once someone else posts in the thread I have there. And there was the Blue Mono-Color I did, which I still have to finish posting on Marriland. But i'll likely do an itemless Wedlocke on my second copy of Omega Ruby (like HappyWaffles and BulbaJohn from Marriland did) and probably a WonderWedlocke on Alpha Sapphire (which i'll actually get right next time) in due time.

Who do you think are the hardest opponents in the game so far, in terms of general difficulty and also likely "Nuzlocke Killers"?

Well when I first played through Omega Ruby there was very little I had much trouble with at all, even though I didn't use ANY items in battle and entered the Elite Four at a relatively low level (51). But I guess there's Norman with his Slakings, and Winona's Altaria that instead of going Dragon Dance off of a relatively weak STAB attack and Earthquake, utilizes Cotton Guard and Roost.

What are your favorite video game series other than Pokemon? Do you like them better than Pokemon?

Well there aren't too many in particular, I guess you can say that i've come to like Nintendo in general over time. But there aren't many series that I can really think of off the top of my head, so I can't really answer. Pokémon is still #1 for me.

What are your all time favorite movies in general and what is your favorite Pokemon movie?

I don't really have a favorite movie, to be honest. Given how many there are out there, it's hard for me to decide on one. But my favorite Pokémon movie? It's really a juggle between Spell of the Unown and Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea, both of which had amazing action (the former you can kinda say is nostalgic, but the latter was just amazing, particularly near the end).

Well I don't remember how or when I was diagnosed per se, but I just have a harder time remembering things in class nowadays. And i'm not exactly stigmatized, either, random passerby students don't know about it upfront.

I bet some of these answers to the questions i've asked sound vague...you can tell I haven't been in this in a while.

I also have ADHD as well, which leads me to ask you somethings... what would you say is the worst part of having this condition? Do you think you've improved well over having it? Also, if you have, what are some things you've done to make things easier? Do you also take medication as well? (sorry if these have been asked before)

I just ask because I'm always struggling with it, especially when it comes to my writing and stuff. I can't seem to finish my stories at all. I get bored of them easily. I also end up fucking them up as well. It really sucks greatly and has caused me to lose a lot of interest in the one thing I cherish the most. :( I do take medication for mine, and I have since the second grade when I was first diagnosed with it.

Hi Pendra, will you ever go back to Stargazer or is this username your true calling?

If you would get a gift from a friend tomorrow, what would you wish it was?

Horse or sheep, which is the best animal?

You're not in the Roleplay Corner here, are you? Why not? :)

I don't even know, to be honest. I find myself hard pressed to talk to other people and focus on the work that I have to do in classes, and I don't take medication for it personally, although I think things have worked better by meeting with my advisors.

hey! since you said you were on smogon - were you there for battling or general pokemon things? would you want to get back into battling on pc? (if you haven't already haha)

Well I was mostly there for general Pokémon matters, and back then people made me out to be really dumb and never knowing what I was talking about, at least in 2005. But in 2007 I visited a bit less although it was alright. I don't post there anymore, and I might get into competitive - I keep saying I will, but I never end up doing so.

Hi Pendra, will you ever go back to Stargazer or is this username your true calling?

Nah, I think this name is me. I think it sounds cooler and fits me better, it just works really well. So yeah, probably not changing this anytime soon. Can't really think of what i'd change it to, haha.

If you would get a gift from a friend tomorrow, what would you wish it was?

Oh wow... I don't even know, to be honest... Maybe i'll come back to this one.

Horse or sheep, which is the best animal?

    I guess the sheep.

You're not in the Roleplay Corner here, are you? Why not? :)

Because I don't really get Roleplaying... It's a lot for me to really know how it works. But this is kinda making me want to have my hand at trying it, to be able to check out something new.

Hey Pendra! I've seen you around a bit, never really said hi, though I should have by this point. So I'll break the ice this way haha.

What is your favourite Zodiac sign, and which is yours?

What would you say is your biggest achievement to date?

Do you have any particular wish for yourself in life?

And lastly, how would you describe yourself with only one word?

#1 I've heavily noticed that you are a big fan of Gen 5 but may i ask this. Gen 5 still has its haters no matter how much we try to defend how great of a generation it actually is (they know who they are), what do you think are the things from Gen 5 that these "haters" hate that much?

#2 Would you date a woman who's taller than you?

#3 I've also noticed you often refer to the tuber Marriland from time to time. What made you such a fan of him?

Haha, that's totally cool with me. Always nice to have people coming in.

What is your favourite Zodiac sign, and which is yours?

I'm a Taurus, in fact my birthday was a bit over a week ago. And i'm content with that Zodiac sign, I like the bull.

What would you say is your biggest achievement to date?

That's a difficult question. I guess getting to go to college and going through a private school that was much different from public school? Yeah, it's not much.

Do you have any particular wish for yourself in life?

Not really, because I think it would be more meaningful to get what I would want by accomplishment. Or at least there aren't any I can really think of.

And lastly, how would you describe yourself with only one word?

Reserved. I do try to be active out enough to let people know I exist, but I don't approach many others.

Well I guess there are the Pokémon, especially Garbodor and Vanilluxe, along with how the region in BW was deemed linear. Some people might have been turned off by the massive amounts of dialogue, the characters, or even the important battles being too easy.

But as for me, I will always like Generation V, even in the light of the ugly haters and the major BW fans who are B2W2 haters that I really have a hard time putting up with.

#2 Would you date a woman who's taller than you?

I would not be opposed to that. Although I have seen females before who have been quite a bit taller than me here at college but none i've actively went after.

#3 I've also noticed you often refer to the tuber Marriland from time to time. What made you such a fan of him?

Well, I first found out about him first from his Diamond and Pearl walkthrough way back in 2007 (heck, 2006 even, while the Japanese versions were out). And I remember his Diamond Adventure, and his Platinum Adventure too when that game was new. I didn't pay too much attention to his HGSS or BW video series at first, but I did read the walkthroughs for those games on his site as I remember when I was getting ready to play those games back then. And when he did his Japanese Black 2 Adventure Let's Play Thingy, I "accidentally" came across it and that was when I got super hyped for B2W2 (when I saw his video against Black Kyurem and Ghetsis) and it was every bit of what I anticipated. He did his White 2 Adventure, which was fun, then he went into a series of Nuzlocke videos that he's been doing and i've enjoyed a lot. So there.

Interesting answers. I'm quite enlightened with the #5 question.

What are some aspects of commentators do you actually find interesting such as commentary style and gameplay style? Marriland is quite interesting, and I assume you've also seen some of Chuggaconroy's past work with pokemon lets plays as well. And there's stuff from other dudes such as the openly black Shofu and the rather nasal MunchingOrange.
