Done! I hope.
Spoiler:
Name: Nick Guisoo, The Sun's Radiance or "Helios"
"There's no one quite like me. Well, I mean, no one else has my power. I think."
Age: 20
"19 years of self pity and helplessness. A year ago, I found a glimmer of hope... Man that sounds soooo cheesy, it made me hungry."
Appearance: Nick stands equal to what his father once stood in his prime - an impressive 6'3 when standing attentive and proud. His barely kept hair adds an extra inch or two to his height at any given time. His body shape is somewhat slim, with some slight chubbyness visible. Dyed to a lovely shade of lavender, Nick's favorite color. His piercing golden eyes barely show through the mess that is his bangs. A goofy grin is often upon his mouth, matching his 'live and laugh' view of life. Nick has gauges in his ear, size 00.
"All the ladies love me - or at least, that's what my mom tells me. I know she's just saying that sarcastically."
Attire:
Nick likes to wear comfortable and cheap, as he can't afford anything too fancy and expensive. Nick likes to wear a worn and beat up gray jacket that he's had for a few years now. Underneath is his "work shirt" or a simple blue button-up shirt he bought just for work. Underneath the button-up is another simple shirt, but this time its a white tank top. Nick wears a pair of gray sweats that are a size too big. When it's hot outside, Nick will sometimes tie his jacket around his pants. Nick has an old pair of glasses, black with thick rims. Slightly cracked on the right lens.
His tattoos include two golden suns on the back of his hand, lines on his arm leading to a third sun on his back, that constantly moves and shines just like a real star. Nick believes that this one in particular is the Sun.
Personality:
Sarcastic / Friendly / No Common Sense / Jokester
Anyone who knows the Guisoo family would say that Nick is a spitting image of his mother. He received her sarcastic way of life, which can be often a bad thing. On more then one occasion Nick has almost lost his job due to his sarcasm and sass.
Nick lives for laughing and making people laugh. While in all honestly his jokes aren't funny, his misfortunes and attempts at humor makes people pity laugh for him. While he knows he isn't particularly funny, he would go out of his way just to make anybody laugh. Even restore to do something at his own expense, like stepping on a shove and hurting himself. The pain doesn't bother him, as he lives by the motto, "Laughter is the best medicine."
While Nick isn't exactly dumb, he isn't the brightest either (Well, he is literally, but you know what I mean ;P ). For example, he is also extremely flirtatious. When talking to a girl, he can not pick up hints at all. He believes every girl is automatically into him if he is into them. Truth be told, this means he has never had a girlfriend, and doesn't actually know how to talk to girls. He also has zero common sense. He is clueless as to when to do something or when not to do something, and often needs to be told what to do. So when he received his powers, he was clueless as to exactly what to do with them as... well, they don't come with instructions. He once used his powers to put on a light show for a crying child. He realized he shouldn't have done that with all the stares he was feeling while he did his buisness, and decided to hide it until he heard about The Resistance.
Powers/abilities/weapons/etc:
Human Flashlight: Nick is a walking, breathing flashlight. At will, he can emit light energy from all over his body or where ever he pleases. More often then not, he prefers to use his palms as it feels the most natural to him. His rays of light act just like a weaker ray of sunshine. Nick can intensify the light into lasers. He can make said lasers hot enough to melt through metal, or weak enough to be a simple cat laser. Nick tries to find a happy medium between the two; as having a super intense laser drains his energy, but he also wants them to pack a punch when he's saving the day. Using just a simple beam of light is no sweat for Nick.
John Cena: Another power Nick received, and also his most powerful ability, is how he can bend the light-rays around himself to turn completely invisible to the naked eye. Due to the concentration needed for this power, Nick cannot use any other of his powers.
Also, something interesting Nick found out about this power, is he can also only allow a certain colors wavelength through to himself(and then bounce back), making him turn a different color. Probably won't have a practical use, but Nick always thought it could be a cool party trick. The color changing ability also works for his light.
Praise the Sun: Nick's main weakness is his neediness of the sun. The sun seems to be the source of his powers, as when nighttime rolls around his powers dwindle down. His beams aren't as bright, lasers are super weak, but his invisibility seems mainly in tack. It just drains him faster. Being inside only has a small effect to Nick, but a near to completely dark room will sap away his powers.
Other weaknesses include: He isn't physically fit and his lack of common sense.
Origin Story (history): "Wanna know how I got thesescars tattoos and powers?"
The day started as any other usual day - or rather, night - Nick helped his mother get ready for bed, as she was elderly and couldn't do much for herself anymore. After making sure she was sound asleep Nick grabbed his lunch, a single slice of lunch meat and a slice of cheese, and his gray torn up jacket. No car keys this time, as he felt there was no need to waste the gas for a 20 minute walk. Even if there was a light drizzle outside, Nick headed out, braving the bone chilling shivers the rain put upon him.
As he trekked on wards towards the gas station that he worked at, Nick became increasingly tired. From the coldness sapping his strength, to simply being out of shape, he needed somewhere to catch his strength. He has time to spare, anyway - he left early because he figured this would happen. He spotted somebodies back porch and decided to sneak his way there to rest. Nick let loose a sigh as he sat down on a chair that was set out on the porch. As he sat and listened to the rain falling down, he almost passed out. The hypnotizing pattern of the rain hitting the roof made him feel at peace. Drip, Drip, Drop. The peace ended however when a blinding light penetrated his eyelids.
What the? He cliche-ly said to himself, as he squinted towards the source. What he looked at seemed to be a fire in the middle of a cluster of trees just outside the yard. Nick scratched his poorly shaved shin in confusion, as he couldn't understand how a fire could be going in this rain, even with the trees covering it. Afraid that the light woke up the owners of the house, and curiosity, Nick walked at a jogging pace towards the odd source of light.
When Nick finally got close enough where he could see it clearly, he marveled at how beautiful it was - whatever it was. Hovering a few inches above the ground, evaporating all rain that comes near it. It looked like a magical fireball to Nick. And he was pretty close to being right. Leaning down to study it, Nick was amazed at how much it looked like the sun. Another thing that came across his mind was how he didn't feel any thing emitting from it. No heat, only light, even though the grass below it burnt to a crisp already (Although it didn't start a fire, thankfully). As the saying goes, "Curiosity killed the cat." Except it was Nick not a cat, and he didn't die. He slowly stretched out his hand towards the mysteriously floating fireball, curious of what it would do. As his middle finger brushed against the surface or the orb, the ball itself started crawling on his skin. Freaked out, Nick panicked and stepped backwards, but the his body kept absorbing the star. As his vision got replaced with a golden light, Nick passed out.
When Nick awoke, he was sitting on the stool behind the cash register at his work. He breathed heavily, shook from what just happened. However, he thought it was all just a dream... until he went to the bathroom to splash water on his face. As he glanced up towards the mirror. Something seemed off... then it saw him. His eyes were no longer the baby blue they once were. Instead, they were a pure golden color. With his heart now beating against his chest, his eyes began to glow lightly. In the corner of his eyes he noticed the same glowing emitting from his arms and hands. He looked down at them, and saw strange tattoo-like images of stars on his hands, and a line on his arms leading to his back. The stars on the back of his hands began to glow as well, just like his eyes. As he turned over his hands, he saw a beam of light coming from his palm... and all over his body.
"Nicky, you're destined to do great things. You'll probably only do mediocre things, but try your best." - Nick's mom, after learning about his new found powers.
Any other notes about your character:
*Is allergic to peanuts
*Might be slightly insane. Swears he can hear the Sun speaking to him.
*Momma's boy.
Roleplay Sample:
Nick was in the back of the gas station, glaring upon a varied selection of candy bars. He was indecisive on which one to eat for a snack. "Heh, I'll go for a Milky Way I think. Its taste is out of this world." He silently joked to himself. He giggled at his own joke, and headed back towards the front when he heard the door bell jingle. He looked up towards the mirror towards the front pointed towards the entrance, expecting to see Winna, an elderly woman that normally comes in around this time. Instead, a person dressed in all black was standing in the doorway, shaking as they held a gun. Crouching down, Nick's eyes widen as he looked down to his palms. "Uhh... I've never been robbed before. Usually that happens before my shift, damn it. I'll just convince him to go." He planned to himself. As Nick began to stand up, his knee made a cracking noise that echoed in the deathly silence store. "Shit."
"I heard that! Come out now or I'll shoot you!" The robber yelled out. After facepalming himself, Nick obeyed. Hands up, he was now face to face with the robber and his pistol. Nick could see that the robber was a young man, probably only 15 or 16, no older. He was so nervous you could hear the gun shaking in his hand. Nick smiled at him, trying to calm him down.
"Hey man, we can just tal-"
"Shut up! There is no talking! Give me your money." The robber yelled, interrupting Nick.
"Listen buddy, I'm all for donations, but I kinda have no money." Nick replied with a smirk.
Nick obviously said the wrong thing, because the robber fired off a shot at Nick - it missed, unsurprisingly due to the shaky nature of his aim. Nick could feel a wetness form in his pants, but he didn't let anybody know about that afterwards. A look of relief was obviously shown on the face of the robber. The bullet that he fired hit glass somewhere behind Nick - he could tell thanks to the faint sound of glass scattering across the floor. Nicks right ear, the side the bullet flew by, rang like crazy. He could barely hear anything. Only his left ear allowed him to hear.
"Shit dude..." The robber said, panicking. "I didn't mean to do that. I didn't want to... They're gonna arrest me now Well.. they might've before, but now it's serious..." The rest of what he said was gibberish to him, other then a few words as, "Witness," "Money," and "Run." The Robber walked over to Nick and hit him across the head with his gun. Nick, now in a dazed state, was knocked to his side and couldn't move, forced to watch as the robber stole all the money from the register and some other bits and goods from the station. As the robber finished his business, he came over to Nick and pointed his pistol at him, with a more steady aim. "No witnesses." He whispered to himself, cocking the gun.
As he laid there in silence, Nick felt a similar yet different power than his light emit from his radiance, and closed his eyes in focus. All other sounds, even the robber's whispering and cocking of the gun, were drowned out. The tattoos on his body began to beam out a golden ray as the light around Nick bent to his will. No longer was he visible to the naked eye, not even to himself. As Nick opened his eyes, he was shocked. He never knew he had this power before, and it showed up at the best time. The robber didn't share the same feeling, however.
"What the ....?!" The boy yelled out in confusion and anger. Nick got up from where he was kicked down, moving to put the boy in a choke hold. The robber, having no other options, shot at the place Nick once was. The bullet ricocheted. On the floor, then the nearby wall, then it whizzed past Nick and right into the poor boy's chest.
Turning visible, Nick quickly came down to his knees on the robbers side. Disarming him, Nick looked into the boy's eyes as blood spilled from his mouth. After choking on his words, Nick finally was able to speak.
"You're a friggen idiot man, you know that? Never shoot at what you can't see. I seriously just want to punch you but that'll just make it worse," Nick said, then paused for a moment, glancing at the wound. "What's your name, man?"
"Derek Jones." Derek said between coughs. He became paler by the second.
"Well Derek, feel proud. You're the first person to witness that new power of mine. I didn't even know I could do that. So thank you. At this very moment, I decided that I should probably use them for good and all that. To stop idiots like you from hurting themselves, or others. Live is hard enough as is without people like you making it worse." Nick sighed as he finished, and looked back at Derek. The boy was already dead, died sometime during his little speech.
"Well, Momma always said the dead were the best listeners. To me, it was just a bunch of dead weight." Nick kicked himself when he made that pun, and brought out an old notebook he kept in his back pocket.
"In memory of Derek Jones, aged 16. Male. Brown eyes, Black hair." - The first thing written in that small black notebook.
"There's no one quite like me. Well, I mean, no one else has my power. I think."
