Type matchups you often forget?

For me it's the Fairy Type (since I never played the games past Gen 5). I often forget they're weak against Poison and Steel, which more than often got my Sylveon fainted in romhack playthroughs :p

Also somehow it always slips my mind that Bug is super-effective against Dark types. I think it stems from the fact that it just doesn't make natural sense to me lmao.

Do you suffer from forgetting type match-ups like I do? And if so, what are they?

I always get confused about what can hit steel or dragon types neutrally. For some reason I always think way more types only do 1/2 damage to dragons. I also had a misconception for a long time that psychic type was 2x effective against grass type, not realizing that most early grass types were duo poison types.

    This.

I always thought psychic was super effective against grass when I first started playing pokemon. I remember psychic attacks were super effective against Budew and Roselia, and I didn't realize they were also poison types, and thus for a long time I made the incorrect assumption that psychic was strong against grass.

I also always forget the types that steel resists and I have to constantly remind myself that steel types no longer resist dark and ghost.

Furthermore, I always incorrectly assume that poison resists ghost and that ice resists water.

The finer points of Bug and Poison for me. I often forget that Ghost resists Bug, and that Rock doesn't. Also, for some reason I always think Dark or Ghost resist Poison (which they don't).

i used to think grass was neutral against bug because one time i used a grass attack on a nincada a while back and it did neutral damage

while i failed to take into consideration was that said nincada was part ground

Oh my god yes. I will forever be confused as to whether Ice resists Water or vice versa lmao.

Water resists ice because....ummm...ice freezes water when extremely cold temperatures happen...so even though theoretically ice types should be strong against them....

....they aren't but Water actually resists ice....

    Of course.

Recently learned for some odd reason Bug...resists Ground?

Kinda makes sense they could just be all over the ground running hard to hit...I guess?

I'm sensing a pattern here. 90% of this thread is people not knowing about Bug type match-ups lmao. Makes me feel bad for the Bug Maniacs out there.

Well honestly there's no Bug /Dragon as of yet so I guess I'm just slightly inexperienced with the moves, plus I always use something Fire, Rock, or Ice on them so I never really notice what DOESN'T work well...
