Unattractive "Shiny" Colorings

There's quite a few, really. I absolutely despise any 'shiny' Pokemon that are just slightly different shades from their normal version (someone used Togekiss as an example and that's exactly the kind of thing I mean).
The one that really bothers me though is Espeon.
If Espeon wasn't my favourite psychic type then I probably wouldn't really care, but it just looks so bad. Especially when you compare it to its counterpart, Umbreon, who has (in my opinion) the nicest shiny version in the game.
I mean normal Espeon is this really nice lilac/light purple colour, easy on the eyes and all. Then you get this really nasty almost neon green thing and it's just... I want to know who thought it looked good when they were coming up with ideas?

I actually like quite a few green ones, like noivern (being green makes it look less like a bat and more reptilian) and beedrill (it looks like a bee/beetle hybrid, and it looks great with blue eyes).

The worst, in my mind, are the ones who's colors don't match their themes. Espeon, giritina, and crobat come to mind.

Honestly I wonder how they pick some of these shiny colors, and whether or not they plan them out or just pick random colors.

The regular colors are so nice why must these clash so much :(

Along with any green shiny where the original Pokemon wasn't green as well, a shiny with a muted color of the original, or one where you can barely tell the difference between shiny and regular.

This one right here. I like normal Garchomp's shiny coloring. So plain that it is almost not there. But this. Oh, Garchomp doesn't need this.

I really, really can't lie - after how much of a negative reception regular Garchomp's shiny form has been received with, I found pink shiny Mega Garchomp to border along the lines of so bad it's good. xP

I honestly tend to like most pink shinies, but vaporeon is an exception. A mermaid cat shouldn't be pink.

It's not terrible, but if I found a shiny eevee, I'd much rather use it on umbreon or sylveon.

Did anyone forget this duo lmao?

Oh and wtf gamefreak? Another "Gengar" Shiny?

I have a lot of shinies and some are extremely disapointing!
To name a few......
Garchomp (what the heck is there even coloring? Its mega is pink which i dont see Garchomp as)
Mega Charizard X (a bluish color would have been better)
GENGAR (no explanation needed)
Dewgong (^)
Persian
Chansey
Once again theres loades that are terrible.....

Most shinies are awfully bad in my book. Unlike apparently everyone else, I like shinies that are only slight variations on the original colour scheme, since they look like plausible subspecies/breeds, although I would agree that they should vary a little more from the originals than they currently do.

I like that one, actually. Looks like autumn foliage.

I don't like any shiny Pokemon that have little to no color difference with the original. It just seems uninspired and lazy. Garchomp comes to mind... I'm not a big fan of shiny Druddigon. I'm just not very crazy about the color scheme. Helioptile's shiny just makes him look sunburned so I'm not a fan of him either. I don't like Trevenant's shiny as well. He's another example of a color scheme I dislike.

I dislike :
Pink and green combinations
pink
purple and red combinations(makuhita...)
hardly any different to original shade(garchomp..._
.
I like : blue , dark green, golden brown(not to be confused with gordon brown ;) )

And here's another I came across:
[PokeCommunity.com] Unattractive "Shiny" Colorings

That red, or brown, or whatever its color is, really does not suit Cacturne well. If Cacnea and Cacturne are meant to be desert dwellers, then that color wouldn't be one that is appropriate for such to me.

Honestly, at the top of my head the only ugly shiny I can think of right now is Druddigon. It looks like someone barfed all over it and called it a shiny.

And I'm actually surprised to see so many people not like all the awesome shinies! Like, seriously, most of the shinies people have posted on here are pretty cool in my opinion :P

I'm generally not a fan of dark green, lime green, piss yellow, or any colorations that you can barely notice on the Pokemon. There are a few exceptions to the latter, like Zigzagoon/Linoone. While some might complain that it's just a lighter shade of brown, I like it more than the normal color. It makes them look brighter and less dull in my opinion. But then you have shiny Garchomp. If you didn't see the sparkle go off in a battle with one, you'd probably have no idea that it's shiny.

I like blue, pink, black, and sea green shinies, for what it's worth. ;)

I also agree with the barely-different-at-all shiny forms being frankly dumb. You wouldn't notice a shiny Garchomp if it wasn't for the shine effect.

Holy shit, I go back to read what everyone on the first page said and saw this. I swear I didn't read this before I made my post. I can't believe we basically said the same thing...Jesus. lol

Here's another batch of shinies that definitely look bad to me.

[PokeCommunity.com] Unattractive "Shiny" Colorings

I am not a fan of this red color on Absol at all. The normal black and white Absol was just so perfect.

[PokeCommunity.com] Unattractive "Shiny" Colorings

This red just looks terrible on Armaldo. I mean seriously, what's with this salmon red color? It's so unattractive on almost anything, that it is nothing to sneeze at.

[PokeCommunity.com] Unattractive "Shiny" Colorings

It's true, pink and green is just not a good look for Crobat.

[PokeCommunity.com] Unattractive "Shiny" Colorings

Green and orange tend to not work well, and this one's definitely among the worst. Donphan's normal color is way better than this. It shows how much I hate the snot green look.

[PokeCommunity.com] Unattractive "Shiny" Colorings

That snot green. I'd just utterly puke at a shiny Fearow.

[PokeCommunity.com] Unattractive "Shiny" Colorings

I know that gold looks cool on Steel-type shinies, but they badly overdid it on Forretress. It's a case of a gold shiny that knows how to be unattractive.

[PokeCommunity.com] Unattractive "Shiny" Colorings

Again, if you were viewing this from the back you couldn't tell if Glalie was a shiny at all. The eye color is just not enough to make a difference, and same goes for the Mega as well for having no difference except for again, the eye color.

[PokeCommunity.com] Unattractive "Shiny" Colorings

Yellow is an okay color, but if you overdo it that's when you make it look bad. That's the case with shiny Hoopa here, too much yellow.

I personally despise Druddigon's shiny form, it just looks like a green and orange clown. Too bad it's one of the few shinies I've randomly encountered. >.>

I liked shiny Absol and Druddigon... )=

Anyway, here's another:
[PokeCommunity.com] Unattractive "Shiny" Colorings

The lighter orange makes it a rather weak shiny to me. This one could have been better.

I would nickname this fella Pepto based on its coloring.

On the other hand, I was seeing Aggron take some flack, and I beg to differ on whether the coloring works, because it looks so awesome on the mega.
