News: [UPDATED] 7 New Pokémon Leaked For Pokémon Sun & Moon

I love Vikavolt, He Reminds me of the Seltas from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for some reason. However I hate Drampa, He looks like Falcor from Neverending Story.

Honest initial reaction upon seeing them all this morning:

They all look absolutely awful. And if I must accept that they are real Pokémon, I hope to Arceus that those aren't their English names.

Personnaly I feel like this Pikaclone is different! The typing is interesting, the Pokemon is a bit more badass than the others (like a kawai sandslash?). I hope it evolve tho!

Badass is definitely not a word I would use to describe it. :P

The trailer has revealed abilities for the 7 new Pokemon.

  • Drampa's new ability is called Berserk while its other ability is Sap Sipper
  • Bruxish's new ability is called Dazzling while its other ability is Strong Jaw
  • Togedemaru has either the Lightning Rod or Iron Barbs abilities
  • Cutiefly has either the Honey Gather or Shield Dust abilities
  • Grubbin's evolution Charjabug has a new ability called Battery while final stage Vikavolt has Levitate
  • Tapu Koko's new ability is called Electric Surge while its signature move is Nature's Madness
  • Komala's ability Definite Sleep is called Comatose in English

Bruxish is just going to break the metagame with that ability. If it can work with abilities such as Gale Wings then the likes of Talonflame will be screwed.

It, Yungoos' Stakeout, and Komala's Comatose they are all anti-meta abilities~

As for if Bruxish's ability affects Gale Wings and Prankster, why wouldn't it? All other abilities still work against altered moves. Moves changed to electric by Electrify still get nulled by Motordrive and Lightning Rod. Flying moves used by Talonflame or non-damaging moves used by a Pranskter holder become priority moves so Dazzling should block them.

Only way passed it should be Mold Breaker and Mold Breaker like abilities.

Bruxish's ability is certainly game changing. That is for sure. I really want to see it's base stats though before I get too excited about it. Water Pokemon aren't known for being super fast so if it's speed is in a lower tier bracket, then it's ability to stop priority moves(at least in single battles) is not that big of a deal. Hopefully though it will have the stats to make use of both of it's abilities. I am hoping for a fast physical attacker.

Although the designs are quite intriguing and nice, especially Charjabug and Drampa, the names are mostly terrible. BRUXISH? TOGEDEMARU? TAPU KOKO???

I apologize. I just love their designs, but the names... Ugh. Don't get me started on the names. At least Vikavolt sounds kinda cool.

Also Cutiefly is adorable. I seriously hope Togedemaru and Vikavolt can at least be a little useful in battle, seeing as Togedemaru has Iron Barbs and Vikavolt looks badass.

I really like most of them. Cutiefly is really cute, Togedemaru is the best pikaclone so far (sorry paraschu) lol can't spell
Drampa is really funny looking, tapu koko looks really fast and strong and also a signature move woo!
Charjabug is a cube :3 Vikavolt looks really cool

Bruxish is just wierd though.

Iwanko is now revealed to be Rockruff and Nekkoala is Komala. Neat!

I'm pretty sure I'll continue to call them by their japanese name. Kmala isn't bad, but Rockruff... I love the way "Iwanko" sound! :o

I feel like a problem with some of the pokemon are their names. Names like Rowlet, and Popplio are easy to say, and you transition between the syllables smoothly. Rockruff isn't as smooth a transition.

Tapu Koko seems badass, I'll def use it on my team :3

Bruxish doesn't deserve the hate it's getting :( obviously it's supposed to look ugly. That's the point of it's funky design.

Anyway, glad that they're taking some risks with the designs in this gen! Gen 6's designs are paling in comparison so far.

Rockruff is easy to say. Tapu Koko and Bruxish are the more off-putting ones.

It's easy to say, but it's just not as smooth.

Apparently, Tapu Koko is revealed to be genderless. Given its guardian status I am highly assuming it'll be a Legendary Pokemon since legendaries are usually genderless.

Well, I think that Gen 6's designs are way better (From what we've seen so far), so it's subjective . If u ask me, gen 7's designs r weird and too detailed.

I think the 7th Gen designs so far have had more thought put into in regards to the species of animals they are based on:

  • Rowlet is based on a Pueo owl
  • Litten is based on an Iriomote cat
  • Popplio is based on a Hawaiian Monk Seal
  • Lunala is based on a Ghost Bat
  • Rockruff is based on the extinct Hawaiian Poi dog
  • Bruxish is based on a Reef Triggerfish, which is Hawaii's national fish
  • Pikipek is based on an Imperial woodpecker
Just some examples of the detail there, and there's a couple of obvious ones such as Komala being a koala and Solgaleo a lion, but still it shows how well-detailed Game Freak have been paying attention to with these games.

After seeing the new designs, Vikavolt really stands out to me because of its generally menacing appearance. I can make a lot of brick or taser jokes about Charjabug. Bruxish is rather ugly, IMO, but it can be useful competitively to block priority and bonus points goes to it for being based on Hawaii's state fish. I initially thought that Cutiefly was a mosquito, but now I like it because it's based on another obscure animal (bee fly).

Tapu Koko is interesting because of its arms doubling as a mask and its ability to summon Electric Terrain in battle considering that the terrains weren't really used in X/Y.

Drampa is adorable. It also has good abilities. Coverage wise, Normal and Dragon are redundant.
