    Vote on your Favorite Protagonist!​


    Hello and welcome to a new multi-platform event, that will last several weeks!

    In this event, your objective is to vote for your favorite Pokémon protagonist across a series of polls. To begin, we will start by region*, and see who is the favourite protagonist from each area**. Afterwards, the winner will form a tournament round, where we will do 4 sets of up to 4*** winners, and then take the top two options from there into 2 sets of four, then a final poll.

    Where can I vote?


    You can vote for the first set of people in this thread at the top - the Kanto nominees! You can also vote on our social media pages: Twitter (will use its own poll system), Bluesky (a Google poll), Instagram (a Google poll) and Facebook (a Google poll). Yes, it's better to not go around voting multiple times, but we won't be monitoring things that closely. But don't cheat, that's just boring. This means the winner of each poll will be from all polls (here, Twitter, Google poll) added together, not per platform.

    Polls will run roughly 4 days, and be posted every week as a new thread (or on social media, as a new post). We may speed things up for the spin-off regions.

    Meanwhile, share some propaganda for your pick each week! Take about why you're voting for your character, and make fun of the others (respectfully, of course). We'll also use the results and input for a Daily article summarising the whole event once it ends.

    * Hisui will be treated as separate to Sinnoh.
    ** Spinoff games will also be considered! Orre will feature, while we will also consider the Ranger games' regions separately, but lump the Snap/New Snap regions (and hence protagonists) together.
    *** We may see what the Legends: Z-A protags look like before we hit the tournament phase... pending TPC(i). If so, we'll do a poll on them! Otherwise, one set of 4 polls will have less options... Or we can consider a second chance for the losing protag with the most amount of votes!

    Rules

    1. No Trolling - This includes things like voting on behalf of other users, inputting joke responses in the Google Forms, using bots or creating alt accounts to try and game the voting system, and other dishonest activities. Please don't do that stuff.
    2. Have Fun - We all love Pokémon, and we hope that you derive enjoyment and have a good time with this event!

    Kanto: Red, in a narrow win over Leaf! Chase and Elaine were well behind.
    Johto: Kris, in another narrow win over Gold! In fact, Gold won on the forums, but not in the other two platforms. Lyra was a distant third.
    Hoenn: May, in the first clear victory in these series of polls. Brendan and his hat were no match.
    Sinnoh: Dawn, who basically murdered poor Lucas in the polls.

    AMY! AMY! AMY! AMY! (er, Hilda rather, I suppose lol 😅) I loved her design and general energy from the game. Rosa's... Alright. But Am- Hilda will always be my fave of Gen 5.
     
    Rosa. Her memey expressions in Pokemon Masters kinda make more more memorable than Dawn but with bigger poofy hair (Hilda). And, as usual, the male protagonists are boring and plain looking.
     
    I'm casting my vote for Hilbert, the coolest male protagonist the series has ever had. If he doesn't end up in a matchup with Kris, I'm going to vote for him in every other round I can. Hilda takes second place, Nate a close third, and Rosa a distant fourth.

    I don't have any glaring issues with the outfits this time, but some of them wouldn't work as well in certain seasons. Hilbert's outfit would be great in winter but overdressed in the summer. Hilda's outfit is quite good for the summer but not enough to keep her warm in the winter. Nate and Rosa's outfits make a nice middle ground for the spring and fall, but have both issues to a lesser extent, not being quite warm enough for the winter or cool enough for the summer.
     
    Rosa, and it's not even a contest. Hilda's outfit looks horrible and the guys are typical Pokemon boring and generic.

    Surprisingly, she's still the only protagonist to wear tights (at least in her default, non-customized outfit), which is something I'd like to see on more female Pokemon progatonists going forward.

    Rosa is my favorite Unova protagonist. Her outfit is absolutely adorable, and I love her hairstyle!
     
    I wasn't kidding - it really did get close! Firstly poor Nate was last, but he did get a respectable turnout I feel, certainly more than the last place in the Kanto and Johto polls. Hilbert beat him out, but was placed third overall - mind you, on Twitter and Google he was second!

    Rosa won one poll while Hilda won two - what about the total number?

    I think the BW1 female protagonist is one of the better designed female protags in the series, but I was very close to not posting in this thread at all until I recently found this really good comic:

    Asking out of complete curiousity, how did you come up with that name for her? :pikathumbsup:

    Certainly a more fitting name for her than what I've heard was the canon name if I'd say.

    Her very tomboy appearance mainly. It didn't seem fitting to call her something especially fem-sounding like I did with Dawn (Ashley) or (what was her default name again? 0_0) the HG/SS girl (who I named Naomi). Hilda's character looked more fitting for something short and simple, therefore, Amy. Thanks for the interest btw.
