I was told Windows 8 wasn't that good at all and it was ugly. I never really saw Windows 8 yet.

I'm gonna get a new coputer in a while but I'm gonna stick to XP. My sis got windows 7 and I don't get the heck of it lol.

XP is too old. Updates will stop being made for it in June 2014, well before any computer you buy now would be anywhere close to the end of its life. Give learning Windows 7 a shot. Once you figure it out, you'll be set for another 6 years or so, and wonder how the heck you could even use XP. It's actually a heck of a lot easier to find stuff with Windows 7 than it is on Windows XP.

And to believe that almost every company, business and school still use XP and haven't really bothered to upgrade to either Vista or 7. Hopefully before 2014 they'll be able to like.. upgrade and "stick to modern technology".

That's still two and a half years away; clearly enough time to use XP and update when it actually does run out.

By then, you should be updating to Windows 8 anyway XD

But yeah, Vista was a clear mistake, 7 is the true upgrade to XP, and yet an incredibly large amount of people don't want to update because they are too used to teh "familiar" to get a nearly-identical and yet highly improved new OS.

But hey, lots of people still use Firefox 3.

It bugs me that school computers still use XP. Sure it's more stable than Vista, but IMO they could switch to 7, and should sometime soon. Heck, libraries still use Windows 98, at least some of the one's I've been to. I have to remember how to work it every time I go. xD;

& Vista really was a mistake.. too bad it was a pretty mistake, and everyone originally wanted it / got it, and realized the horrors.

One thing that really annoys me is the browsers constantly upgrading to 'newer' versions. I think Chrome's at 17 now? And the stable version of FF is at 8 or something? Really screws with the add-on compatibility.

Most schools are still using XP because thats what the donated computers have. Unless the school is new, most of the time when they switch computers its because someone donated a lot of computers to them.

As for not wanting to switch, a lot of people jumped on the wagon and switched to Vista real quick. When Vista turned out to be a lemon (Not only that, but a rotten one) people switched back to XP and gained a fear of switching OS'es.

Windows 98? That's really, like, ancient! XD The last time I used Windows 98 was about 2003 or 2004. Because the same computer could run Windows XP pretty fine, so... (It was a 1.4 GHz Pentium 4, 128 MB RAM, a 20 GB HDD and a GF2 for the GPU.)

I think Windows 7 is pretty much what Vista should have been, have it gone through the necessary optimizations. And prettier, to boot! XD

Firefox 3.6 will probably die in 2 standard (in FF terms, it's 12 weeks) release cycles once the extended support version for corporate environments is out.

Hurray for dinosaur!

Don't have it in a computer, but I've got a couple drives with some version of DOS. It's been a while since I've played around with them, but I think they are version 3.something.

Edit - I was using a computer with 98 until... late 02, early 03. I used Vista for a while (Can't remember how long.) in mid 07 before switching back to XP. Used XP until half a year ago.

Right now I'm running Windows 7. (Yesterday I tested out the Developer Preview. Wasn't my cup of tea - I felt that I should have brought a Windows 7 tablet to test it out instead, but I don't have one.)

Hikari10 not Oshawott now? :O

I think I remember there being a commercially released and also DD game that somehow has the supported operating system list to be like this:
Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista/7

...and then require 1 GB of RAM just to run. XD

Mine is a random cute anime girl I found on Pixiv... actually an older pic. I would have like to done Leaf, but it's hard to find fanart of her in Christmas attire... and even harder to find such fanarts where she's alone...

I've actually done Christmas themes every year since 2007 or 2008, barring last year since I was busy/lazy/unmotivated.

I used Windows '98 until about 2006 (which was when I subsequently got a new computer, with XP). I still use XP 'til this day, and will continue to use it until it expires.
