My primary Pokémon opinions that I would defend to the grave are generation five being the best Pokémon generation and Electivire being a great Pokémon. I am sure there are more, but these are the ones that come to mind first!

Bringing in all the old Pokémon in B2W2 sucks.

Like I get if they wanted to make sure you could complete the Pokédex in that generation...but you can't. In fact it was the first time you couldn't complete the Pokédex within a generation, even with events. You can't even catch a wild Pikachu, and that's the franchise mascot! So what you have is the opportunity to revisit a region that introduced the greatest number of new Pokémon since Gen I yet actually have a decreased variety of those Pokémon available in the early-game.
I'm playing through Black 2 now, I've caught every Pokémon I can before challenging Gym 3 (Castelia) - 32 in total yet only 14 are from Gen V! By contrast at the same point in Black I could have caught 24 Pokémon all of whom would be new. I'm not saying they should have made Floccesy Ranch contain wild Deino and Axew, but just give us more time with the new guys!

Also a lot of Gen V Pokémon are cool. I'd say they have about an equal cool:sucks ratio as the original 151. Although once they start evolving, definitely my least favourite bunch of starters (except Samurott. Samurai-Otter is always gonna be awesome).

gen 5 was the best in the series-
BW aswell as B2W2 are some of my favorite games of all time, and yes that has much to do with childhood, but I've played this game next to others and I personally perfer it then others, I feel that the starters are best then any other starters, they're the perfect mix of cute and cool, I also feel like their designs have perfect characteristics, Snivy is smug and honest but clearly kind, oshawott looks shy with a bit of a temper, and tepig is a happy go lucky pokemon, I'm 100% sure this is my personal viewing, but I get more from this then any other gen, like gen 2 which I wanna say is the worst gen, despite loving all the starters, but I feel like gen 6 is probably the worst one, nothing about it is very memorable, Gen 7 has gimicks, which is all it feels like to me, a gimick pretending to be a game, not that its a bad gimick, just that it doesn't feel like a game, and then gen 8 drops everything that made the original games fun or imersive, and made it a baby game (yes I know it still has its fans but it makes me turn away) Gen 3 was great, Gen 4 was fine, i haven't played in years however, so I'm not 100% sure, and Gen 1 was..... fine? i guess, I still love pokemon but I still feel that Gen 5 is the best one, its got more of a big world and story, and its really impressive for the ds

Pokemon Super mystery dungeon is the best one- Alot of people like the 2nd game more, but this one has better atmostphere, better characters (fight me) i wanna say more emotional moments but I haven't found out yet, i actually like The PSMD gameplay more, and I like the exploration teams more, plus I like how you got to school at the beggining, and you like, actually stau there and change locations, Also the partner is better then every other partner, though from what I've seen thats a very tough competition, I will argue about this day and night

Up to Gen 4 was seamless and perfect, and the series truly peaked with Platinum, and nothing has compared to it in terms of the complete package after.

I'm guessing you're not too into gen 5 in that case? Quite a few people I've seen who think Pokémon isn't as good anymore tend to comment how it started declining to them from gen 6 and onwards rather than 5. Just curious! I find BW/BW2 really good but respect people who don't feel the same, of course.

    - there absolutely needs to be more mini-games in pokemon games besides contests. contests are ok for those who enjoy them, but i'm looking for something more akin to pokeathlon in hgss, or mantine surfing in usum. something fun, yknow? mostly to appease people who aren't 100% into battling and all that

This is an excellent opinion and I couldn't agree more. I do enjoy contests, however BDSP oversimplified them and they now feel more akin to generation 5's musicals than to the OG contests. Minigames add so much replayability and are the best part of any pokemon game, in my opinion. I genuinely think I've devoted more time to the pokeathlon in HGSS than to actual gameplay.

    Some of my opinions include:

    - Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky is the best game in existence. Nothing will ever surpass it. PMD games in general are superior to main series games.

    - Generation 5 introduced some of the best designed pokemon to date.

    - I much prefer gym leaders to trial captains, however, I do love the designs of each of the trial captains.

    - Samurott and Primarina are the superior water starters!

-Lillie was a fabulous character. I found her fascinating.

    - The infamous cutscenes in generation 7 were one of the best parts of SM, I found they contributed such sentimentality!

    - Gen 8 had some of the most memorable and least memorable characters simultaneously. It was immensely incosistent. You had riveting characters such as Leon and Sonia and others devoid of substance such as Chairman Rose, the supposed "villain." Furthermore, generation 8 was beautifully designed yet suffers from a complete lack of explorable locations which made the countless picturesque cities feel lifeless. It was exasperating to see so many breath-taking buildings yet being barred from entering them.

    - Gen 1 pokemon are oversaturated to the point where I consider the majority of them to be unappealing.

    - Everything about generation 4 is perfection. The anime, the games, the soundtrack, the newly introduced pokemon, it's seamless, the golden age of pokemon so to speak.

    - The Best Wishes Series was unspeakably horrid. 10 year old me really tried to enjoy it, though was ultimately unable to, despite my efforts.

    - X/Y were very enjoyable, and Kalos is by far the most immaculate region in terms of aesthetics.

    - Chesnaught is one of the best-designed grass starters, falling short to only Sceptile and Serperior.

    - Drew was an exceptional rival and felt close in proximity to Paul in terms of his douche-baggery, which is likely why I find him so appealing. Building off this, Paul was the best rival Ash ever had (that I've seen, I stopped keeping up with the anime around a decade ago.)

More opinions! Now featuring both canon games and fangames.

-The Hoenn Battle Frontier was tedious and I didn't really miss it when OR/AS cut it out; I much preferred the Sinnoh Battle Frontier and was legitimately devastated when I realized it wouldn't be ported to BD/SP. (That said, there is an exception: I like Noland way better than Thorton as a Factory Head. Older man bias aside, he actually looks and acts the part of a "factory head"; Thorton's way of speaking just irks me.)
-As I said in my last post, Gym with type preferences/type specialists should absolutely stay and coexist alongside gimmick-based Gyms if that's the direction Game Freak wants to go. That said, both CAN be done at the same time; for example, physical/special monotype teams, or something like a Ghost-type specialist that uses only Ghost-type Pokémon based on possessed household objects (such as Banette, Polteageist or Lampent/Chandelure). There's just so many themes to exploit!
-I'll admit it: I have a bias against Fakemon. If there's one thing Game Freak has never failed at, it's designing creatures that are consistent with one another. Don't get me wrong, some Fakemon are really well designed, but... they don't really give off the feeling of belonging alongside canon Pokémon when put side by side, as I learned the hard way while playing Xenoverse. That said, fanmade regional variants and evolutions fare MUCH better for me, because they build upon Game Freak's template and reimagine it in some creative ways.
-Speaking of regional variants, I absolutely don't mind seeing a prevalence of reimagined Kanto mons. Let's face it - most of the original 151 designs are a little bit outdated, and shaking them up a bit really helps them stay relevant while updating them to a more modern aesthetic. Not to mention, some of these variants are just as good or better than the originals - such as the Alolan Vulpix, Geodude and Grimer lines plus Alolan Marowak and Exeggutor, Galarian Mr. Mime, Weezing, Farfetch'd and Slowpoke lines and the Legendary birds, and Hisuian Growlithe and Voltorb. Keep them coming in, they're super interesting! And please, give us reliable ways of getting these forms in future games! (Looking at you, LGPE)
-In fangames, casual references to the plots of other canons such as the anime or manga are fine: Game Freak does it often enough. However, it irks me when fangame creators try to pass these references as game canon without even trying to work them in properly. (I'm looking at you, Xenoverse.) My other biggest pet peeve in canon-based fangame plots is basic timeline inconsistencies - Uranium being the biggest offender. There are reference materials on this out there - look them up!
    -And finally... Xenoverse spoilers:

Yay, unpopular opinions! And I have a LOT:

    - My thoughts on "regional variants" can be summed up with the fact that I refer to them as "horrific radioactive mutations."

-HG/SS are, at best, mediocre games that failed to capture the charm of the originals and yet also failed to correct some of the most glaring issues in the originals.

-I hate Pokemon following me. I think of it as an act of insubordination and disobedience.

-More Pokemon need to be based off of inanimate objects. If Game Freak ever introduces a car/truck/SUV/van/bus Pokemon, it will instantly become my new favorite one.

-I like the feeling of marching into a Gym with my Pokemon 35 levels higher than the Gym Leader's. That poor fool doesn't even KNOW how badly they're gonna get steamrolled.

-The new super-forms they started rolling out in Gen 6 are incredibly stupid ideas.

-Most spinoff games are crap. Colosseum and XD are the rare exceptions that rank up there with the very best of the main series games.

-Platinum was peak Pokemon and the franchise has been very hit or miss ever since.

-I will never play Pokemon Go. Part of that is due to the fact that I will never own a smart phone, which might be the most unpopular opinion on here.

-Red would be the biggest idiot in Pokemon games... if Hop didn't exist.

-I don't care about Legends Arceus. A lot of that stems from the fact that I don't care about Pokemon history/lore in general (I also mashed A to get through all of Sonia's blathering in SwSh.) I'm just here to shut down the evil criminal enterprise and battle my way to be Champion, I don't need the history lesson, thanks.

-I enjoyed SwSh more as a fashion/dress-up game than as an actual Pokemon game.

_I call Pokemon Centers "Red Roof Inns" and BD/SP's Ramanas Park "Ramada Inn Park" instead. I may have an undiagnosed hotel/motel obsession.
