I finished Kirby and the Forgotten Land to my liking last night. So... is everyone saying this is the 'best' Kirby game ever made/of the entire franchise true and/or accurate? In many ways... it is. However... I don't like calling anything the 'best' of a series/franchise. Because at the end of the day... it's all subjective anyway and your going to get different answers from different people. Most of the game is pretty damn amazing yes. The graphics is probably the best graphics of the entire franchise. It had an ANIME OP-LIKE THEME SONG. ALL OF MY YES. Not only that... the music in this game might just be the best Kirby music/soundtrack I've ever heard. The mouthful mechanic/gimmick is probably the funniest mechanic/gimmick I've seen of the franchise, maybe ever. The gameplay is incredibly good and fun and being able to upgrade copy abilities is the BEST THING THEY MIGHT HAVE EVER DONE. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO THIS FROM NOW ON OR DO IT AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE.

There's just one problem. One thing that has been made abundantly clear at this point when it comes to the Kirby franchise. They can't seem to find a middle ground in terms of 'difficulty'. Star Allies was too easy. Now... the missions to rescue the Waddle Dees in this game are ridiculously and overly difficult at times. Especially the boss missions. Are you kidding me with this BS with speedrunning and not taking any damage? This isn't Dark Souls I'm sorry. Some of the missions in the regular stages were just as bad as well. They really need to make up their minds on difficulty. But they clearly can't and clearly won't. This shit ruined my experience and I can't get past it and I shouldn't be expected to. Sorry it just did. There is no reason and no need for shit like this I'm sorry. Get it out. I would have preferred a 'collectible' mechanic like in the previous Kirby games over this shit. For that reason alone... it didn't overcome the thing that many seemed to be hoping it would (and I was too honestly). Because there's no reason for this.

But I did play post-game (don't have a heart attack) and it's the closest I've ever gotten to 100% in a Kirby game (90%). So there's that I guess. It's just the ridiculous difficulty of the Waddle Dee rescue missions that ruined this game for me. Other than that... yeah I'd guess I'd say it's the best Kirby game of the franchise/ever made. But that's still subjective.

Next up for me... is the Sly Cooper franchise on the PS3. Yes I'm playing the PS3 in 2024 what of it? Yes ALL OF IT (Sly Cooper franchise). I know that seems like a lot but most of them are short so it might not take as long as it appears. Though I will be attempting the Platinum in most of the games except one I believe (Sly 3 I think? I can't remember which one it is). So there's that to keep in mind as well. I won't be giving my thoughts on each and every game. I'll be giving my thoughts on the franchise as a whole so you won't hear from me again until that point. One more new thing for me is slots. I've been playing such games for just a week or something, so I still have some time to discover everything, but I can say that it's so interesting to me so far. I'm more into card games, but I always try to play something new, and I could never imagine that I'd like slots that much. I can't tell which game is my favourite one for now, but at https://1wincasinoar.com/, there are so many of them, and I wish I had more time to discover. But I'll take my time, and soon, I'll be back with some more recommendations.
I'm one of that people who says that Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the best one of the franchise. I loved everything about that game.
Lately I don't have a lot of time to play, but I play Elden Ring, Celeste and Final Fantasy XIV

I been going back and forth between Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash and One Piece Odyssey.

Celeste and FFXIV are both great! They mean a lot to me.

I just came back for a second play session of Infinity Nikki since the game seemed really appealing to me before launch, and it's taken me a while to really decide on how I feel about it. After about 6 hours I think I generally feel positive about it though, and I really cannot resist a cute dress-up game.

I've been dealing with shoulder pains the past couple or so weeks as well as a big slump due to a lot going on, so gaming hasn't been as usual for me, but my FFXIV group was finally able to clear the Alexander Savage raids in FFXIV after doing them on and off over the course of over two years, and we've had a lot of content in mind to do afterwards. I've also gotten really into Balatro, and did my first solo playthrough of Borderlands 2. I just got really sucked in, remembered why I think BL2 is my favourite shooter, and am going through True Vault Hunter Mode to eventually make it to UVHM and maybe OP10? I still haven't cleared all the DLCs either.
My bf and I have also been playing through a game that's really special to me, though he's taken a break from it to focus more on FFXIV's Arcadion Savage so we'll probably go back to it later at some point.

Been way too hooked on Total War Rome Remastered, a childhood game in which I had 0 idea how to play it so I died at the start every time, but now my brain can comprehend how it works so now it feels so much more fun :'D

Also some FFXIV on the side, the static fell a little apart so we're halting M4S prog progress, but will go back to that eventually. Other than that just getting more gil and renovating the house.

Currently playing Pokémon Rumble World! I loved this game a lot as a kid and I've nearly caught all the Pokémon. It's near impossible to play after the eShop shutdown since diamonds (the currency used to get more balloons to get more Pokémon) are very hard to come by without purchasing them, but I won't give up until I catch them all.

Anyway I just defeated an Umbreon as a Kricketot lol

Currently doing the Christmas special event in American Truck Simulator, which involves hauling Christmas goods between IRL cities and locations in an idyllic "Winterland" that's decorated to the nines for Christmas. It's also the only area in the game that has actual snow cover, with the expected issues with sliding and loss of traction.

(Naturally I'm doing these deliveries in my signature Serena-themed big rig.)

My multiplayer games at the moment are FF14, Pokemon Unite, and Marvel Rivals.

Single-player wise, I'm working through the Dishonored franchise for the first time, after many many recommendations. I just completed Indiana Jones and the Great Circle earlier this week, and that was a wacky fun time where you just get to be the guy,

And that's Live A Live completed with both Bad Endings and the True Ending. I have to be completely and brutally honest with all of you... that was probably the best HD2D game I've played thus far. That... doesn't exactly say all that much though consider the only other one I've played is Octopath 1 lol. Still though. It has problems. Obviously. Prehistory story is absolutely atrocious, Ninja chapter is too damn convoluted, and the Present Day MC has no character until literally the final fight of the chapter. But there were great moments too. I still really liked the Ninja chapter and it was really unique (just wish it wasn't so god damn convoluted), Near Future was probably my favorite chapter and Distant Future was a close second (CUBE BEST BOI). BUT GOD DAMN THE FINAL BOSS FIGHT IN THE FINAL CHAPTER (trying my best to avoid spoilers here sorry lol). Made everything SO GOD DAMN WORTH IT.

So yeah. Loved it. Wouldn't mind another one. It'll never happen unfortunately though with Square 'focusing on major releases'. Oh well. At least I got to experience this one I guess.

Next up everyone... it's finally happening...

It's time... to SURVIVE

(Digimon Survive)

Over the holiday season I picked up Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons because I really like my cute little Picross spinoffs, but hearing the music and seeing some of the characters again made me really miss the series. I tried playing Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, but it felt like it was a different game than what I was looking for. I may go back to it, but when I think of a game like this I think of something closer to Friends of Mineral Town or Stardew Valley, so I continued looking and I think Pioneers of Olive Town is a lot closer to what I'm craving, so I've been playing that over the past few days. I've been enjoying leveling up tools and begging Reina to fall in love with me, and it's my first time trying to play a game like this without a guide, which feels like a fresh experience.

Some shoulder pain I had over the past couple months feels like it's getting better so I've been spending more time gaming at my computer, including finally clearing the Omega Savage raids in FFXIV with my group, and doing all the DLC for Borderlands 2 on UVHM with my bf, starting to farm for drops like Pearls and Seraph rarities against raid bosses and finalizing my build. They're both really engaging parts of these games that I've never seen, and the thrill is really engaging, especially the FFXIV raids. We're planning to start the Eden Savage raids later this month, and I might finally be trying to do Arcadion Savage as well.

I mostly used to play only World of Warcraft lately BUT I tried Balatro last night and it was super fuuuun. I'd probably be playing it right now if I wasn't so swamped with projects to work on.

Grinding my behind off in Palworld because my inner Pokemon Breeder could not take a break.
485 hours... just a bit over halfway towards the target of reaching the 999 hour mark I had on my Pokemon Moon save file.

And just when I thought I had max stats figured out, the Feybreak decided to bring more Rainbow-tier passives to the game. No rest for the wicked.

Finally got and playing Black Myth Wukong, a game I've been wanting to get at for a while. A big fan of Journey to the West and Sun Wukong...but....the game is absolutely kicking my ass atm loool. Hopefully I can slowly chug through it. I am enjoying it despite the challenge, just hoping I'll actually be able to finish it one day haha.

I needed to palette cleanse after so many deaths and the brutal difficulty that I actually played through and platinum'd a few easier games from my backlog loool, I don't think a game has ever made me do that before.

I beat a point and click adventure called Bear with Me I got on sale for £1 but I really enjoyed it, defo felt worth the hefty discount price I paid for it. And also replayed the Toy Story 2 Ps1 game that is available now with trophies on ps4/5, I've beaten it before a couple times but never had achievements for it as that was either back on the actual ps1 or years later through emulation. A good fun game tho, despite that the controls can be frustrating going back to (I think maybe just due to the age?). Only took me a few hours to run through the whole game and pick up all the trophies for my psn profile.

wow I'm coming in here to say I'm still playing FFXIV wow what a surpriiiiise

But seriously, we made a new group recently to get into Arcadion Savage and it's been a lot of fun. We've cleared M1, M2, and M3 all in one night each, and practicing M4 has been a really neat experience for me, since most of the time the raids I've been doing are older content that becomes easier over time. Speaking of, E4S has been an interesting time, but we'll likely just slowly work our way through Eden over time.

Besides FFXIV, I've been playing the DS Zelda games, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. I just finished Spirit Tracks earlier than expected yesterday, and I'm using that free time to start a replay of Persona 5 Royal that I've been planning a couple weeks early. It'll be my first time playing it since fully understanding how Persona actually works (since P5R was my introduction to the series) and having played P3 and P4. It was really fun looking over my old save file, and I'd love to 100% it and fill out things like the Compendium and max out every Confidant. Should keep me busy for a few weeks at least.~

I feel nostalgic about Persona 3 even though I only played it in March 2024.

Other than that I've been playing Witcher 3.

One day I was overcome with bouts of nostalgia for the tween days I used to stay up and play Super Monkey Ball on the GameCube.

This led to me doing a quick google search and learning that there existed Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania.

So I bought it. And… I find it quite endearing. I like the rather ridiculous challenges it presents to me.
