What are you currently playing? V4

Finally had the time this weekend to put significant time into Monster Hunter Wilds. About 10 or 11 hours in total so far since I started it days ago. Been playing a few other things too.

This past week, I've been playing Starcraft 2 in an offsite Archipelago. I should be finished with it in time to start the new one a week from now.

As of a few days ago I finished my big playthrough of Persona 5 Royal. The whole project was made up of two playthroughs of the entire game (so true ending, third semester), one at a normal pace and one with the dialogue all on fast-forward and rushing through the game with Myriad Truths. It took me about 175 hours to re-experience the entire game, experience every Confidant (without spoilers, my favourites include Hierophant, Lovers, Chariot, Hermit, Fortune, Strength, Temperance, Star, Sun, and Faith), fill out the entire Persona Compendium, defeat every superboss, and earn every single award in the Thieves Den. It was a fantastic time, it not only definitely helped me decide that P5R is my favourite Persona game, but helped me experience more of the game, things like gearing every party member with their best endgame gear, utilizing things like the Jazz Club, experience confidants I never got to the first time and ended up loving like Temperance and Sun, and really experiencing building Personas with things like Lockdowns and Gallows. It was an incredible time.

After finishing such a big project I was wondering where I'd go next, so my spare time is being filled by small stuff like dailies/weeklies on FFXIV (as well as progging UWU as of last week with one group after we finished M4S a couple weeks ago, which was very satisfying, and hopefully still progging E4S with my other group,) and playing Piczle Cross Story of Seasons to get it finished. But I was able to convince my bf to try out the remake of Super Mario RPG that came out a little while ago. I've loved the game for a long time but he's never played it, and it's been a really fun experience for me to introduce it to him while also getting to see anything that was changed with the newest version.

At long last... Digimon Survive has finally been completed. I tried to take my time for once and not rush my thoughts. I only did the Moral and Truthful routes. However... I was informed of what happens in the Wrathful and Harmony routes.

Honestly... I feel like I can take a little too long with these things. So... the long and short of it... is the game is fine. It's not the best Digimon game ever (that still belongs to the Cyber Sleuth games I'm sorry) but it's not as awful as some people may want you to believe. We'll get into that (briefly) in a bit. First of all... it's probably the darkest Digimon game I've ever played. Which, just so you know, is a compliment. The reason for that is what I liked to call in this game
Spoiler:
Anyone who has played the franchise of what I liked to call it will get it. The story was fairly decent and good as well. Seems to be a 'prequel' and/or 'origin story' for Digimon? I was also informed of that and it appears that way but I don't know for sure obviously. Moral and Truthful are probably the best routes. The weird thing about that is... I knew (before any game information was known just so you know) that Moral was the correct choice and low and behold... I was right. It doesn't happen often but I can 'call' things sometimes. Play Wrathful or Harmony and come back to me and say I'm wrong. Feel however you want but Moral and Truth are the 'better/best' and 'correct' choices.

Now the tactical battles were easy and fine. Until the end of the routes. Especially and particularly during Truthful. The Kenzoku (Eaters of this game I guess if you want to call them that) are unbelievably ridiculous and impossible to deal with. They are literally resistant to everything and that's utterly ridiculous I'm sorry. They are sometimes weak to one thing and if you don't have that one thing... your screwed. That's utterly ridiculous and unnecessarily difficult I'm sorry. It got so bad that the game started to become un-fun and became a chore for me. So I played on Easy for the last two battles of the game on Truthful. I hate when video games become a 'chore' and become 'unfun' so I don't want to hear your 'skill issue hurr hurr' BS. The Kenzoku are unnecessarily difficult. Also... remember the
Spoiler:
I mentioned before? I REALLY don't like how NG+/second playthrough is required. I wanted an option to stop them. I HATED seeing them. It makes sense in Danganronpa. Not so much in this game. I get 'Survive' is in the title but that also means they can SURVIVE so why can't I stop it? It's just dumb that NG+/second playthrough was required for it I'm sorry.

Before I finish up... the 'complaints' about this game are overly ridiculous and I'd go as far as to say they are 'mental-5-year-old' behavior. It's nothing but whiny and complaining BS you would (and do) expect from the Pokemon fanbase about it's game. The Digimon fanbase were just as bad, if not worse, about this. They are becoming, if not already have become, just as bad as the Pokemon fanbase when it comes to their whiny and complaining BS. This BS of 'it's a VN so it's shit' or 'VN's are niche so it's shit' or 'it didn't have everything we wanted so it's shit' is mental-5-year-old mentality I'm sorry. Give me a break with this shit. VN's are good. What a concept. Ace Attorney, Danganronpa, AI Somnium Files, Zero Escape, Steins;Gate, Kanon, Clannad, do I need to go on? The worst part is IT WAS TOLD VERY CLEARLY IT WAS A VN FOR 2 GOD DAMN YEARS. HOW IS THAT NOT CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU. I'm sorry but this BS needs to be called out and seemingly no one else will do it so I will. If you don't like hearing this... then cry me a river seriously.

Look I'm not saying the game is perfect. I literally point out multiple flaws and things can (and should have) been done MASSIVELY differently. But these whiny and complaning BS complaints are exactly that... BS. But whatever if you helps you sleep at night then this is literally how I and I only feel about this alright?

Either way Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is finally up next for me. Both of these games came out the same day. I just played Digimon Survive first because one, it was Digimon and two, it was shorter. This one will take me significantly longer. I fully expect to spend 100+ hours in this game. Maybe even 200. We'll see.

I recently got the platinum trophy for Tunic, which was an incredible game I'd recommend to everyone, considering double dipping and getting it on switch.

I also completed Fist : Forged in Shadow torch, which is also worth checking out imo, I had fun with it!

Now I am, almost ashamedly back on Genshin a bit, there's so much that has been added since I stopped playing (I never even fully finished the Sumeru and Fontaine stuff) now I've managed to complete that and caught up to the current (I think?) stuff in Natlan. But to me it definitely feels like a bit of a slog to play coming back to, and I'm not that impressed by Natlan so far, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the previous couple regions either (probably hence why a lot of the quests and stuff were left unfinished). I tried to plough through that unfinished stuff so I can see what the newer stuff is like, but I often question why I'm playing this again if I'm not enjoying it as much and just trying to rush through the quests. But I think I still want to grind out a few characters I guess, since a lot are now quite close to being fully awakened and talented out, and since I've invested so much in them already loool that sunk cost fallacy and feeling close to maxxing them I guess is keeping me here for now at least.

I do wanna find and move onto another shorter single player experience again like the two above, and leave Genshin in the dust once more, I tried out Jedi Survivor but I had some persistent early game crashes and performance issues that just put me off playing the game entirely. I'll have a look for something else to fill that spot when I finally do get too sick of Genshin again.

sonic heroes. i've played through it a million times, but i never get tired of it. i will admit it does frustrate me sometimes, but i take a deep breath and some time away from it before trying again. i'm trying to get A ranks on all the missions so I can get super hard mode. i've aready got all the 7 chaos emeralds.

Marvel Rivals all weekend, baby! Season 2, along with Emma Frost, was just released, and I fully intend to main her day one.

I've recently started playing Xenoblade Chronicles 1. It's been great fun, even though at first I kept forgetting about key mechanics like "equipping better gear" and "leveling up arts", hahah!
But at least all my sidequesting has left me overleveled for the start of the next area I've just entered. That's always nice, I get to dodge aggro for the most part.

Other than that, I've been continuing to play Sky: Children of the Light. We actually got a repeat of an older collaboration season, with The Little Prince/Le Petit Prince, which meant all the collab items that I missed out on getting (because I missed that season) I got to buy after all :)
Wallet didn't really like that though

And my friend started a multiplayer Stardew Farm so I finally get to see all the new 1.6 stuff. Fancy!

forgot to mention in my last post that Fortnite and Marvel Rivals are still games I play pretty regularly socially.

still on Genshin, although now I've caught up with almost all the main quests, and dunno if icba to do the smaller ones remaining.

finally back on my 3ds a bit lol, I randomly wanted to play it again a few weeks back only to get a bit of a scare with it not turning on. Assuming it must (*hopefully*) be my charger that was broken, so I ordered a new one and just recently got around to testing it after charging with the new charger. Thankfully worked a dream as always! Not sure what's happened to the old charger there.
Kind of got into a groove of testing and making sure everything still worked okay and basically went through all my carts (which is actually a lot lol, way too much, with my ds case overflowing with em and hard to close). I won't list every cart I have, although I did take each for a short spin just to check they still worked, but a few old favourites I did actually sit down and play for a while this time would be Pokemon White, Sun, Y, Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team, Yugioh GX Spiritcaller & World Championship 2007. There's a bunch of others I earmarked for longer replays/revisits later too, including some "fresh save" pokemon games I can start new games on like X, Moon and Ultra Moon.

AI Limit, which is a Chinese Souls-like.

It's not a AAA game, but it's still very good. It really feels like a Dark Souls game in terms of combat and exploration. However, the narration is more verbose, and the enemies have a tendency to "fake" their moves or have a long wind up, which really feels like the game is trying to trick you.
Every encounter is well isolated from the others. Each encounter gives you enough time and space to handle the enemies. The difficulty usually comes from the patterns and not from the number of enemies, which is a quality.

Reactions: Nah
uninstalled Genshin, the second they tried to hit me with the classic fomo stuff, I guess my tolerance for it went wayyy down after so much time out.

I think I've totally finished the Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe (seen all the endings I think), it was a great game that I'd definitely recommend, but I'm still missing the plat because of that "play for a entire tuesday" trophy lol, maybe I will leave it running paused on tuesday just to try and grab that last one? haha.

[PokeCommunity.com] What are you currently playing? V4

I've found myself in one of those phases where I just finished a project (100% Minish Cap for the Game-Along, which was nice) and didn't really have anything in mind to play next, so I've been bouncing between a few things trying to decide what I'll stick with. Recently I did a full playthrough of Touhou Luna Nights and thought it was a lot better than I expected it to be, and I found a nice little quality of life patch for Diddy Kong Racing, which has been something I've been thinking about playing for several months after playing Banjo-Kazooie, so those are both exciting things. I decided to try out the demo for RKGK since it caught my eye in January, but just decided I'd like a better computer to not have to run such a visual-focused game at such low settings.
However one big thing that caught my attention was the proper demo for Unbeatable finally released, and that's been something I've been waiting many many months for. I played the... side-story prequel demo(?) Unbeatable White Label last year and absolutely loved it, even getting a 100% accuracy in one of the songs, and been really wanting to play the full game ever since. Being reminded of Unbeatable and seeing it's still being worked on and something got put out has me incredibly excited, and I've loved the demo so far. I have a lot of thoughts about it but would recommend it to anyone who likes rhythm games, has played something in the style of Muse Dash before, and/or just wants something with a more emotional story in the way the game presents itself.
Being honest, I didn't expect to have much free time at all in April or May, so I didn't decide on anything to play these months...

And of course, still raiding in FFXIV. The new raid tier is fantastic, we've cleared M5S and will be re-clearing and working towards our M6S clear tonight.
