[PokeCommunity.com] What did you do this summer?

For us northern hemisphere-ers, summer is about to come to an end soon, and school or college is about to begin! Or maybe work is about to be in full swing.

Share what you did this summer! Did you go on a big trip? Splashed around at a swimming pool or water park? Maybe soaked up some sun at the beach?

No summer plans? That's okay too, you can say that.

For those in the southern hemisphere (Australia and other countries) -- any plans for summer?

Our Summer had already been ended by mid-July, and rainy season will also come to an end by September. So now we will be bracing for Autumn 🍂.

It was intense heat here, as average temperature during day was around 47°C/117 F and in night it was around 35°C/95 F. So we tried to minimize the exposure to sun.

I was busy in academic works in those months, so more or less I was at home. But we went over 900km via our car to a different city in our country, which is situated at some elevation, hence it was nice to go there, as weather was cool-cool.

I learnt using NixOS along with friend, with both of being at our respective home. It was new learning as I only knew to use Arch Linux.

Went to National Park which is around 40-50km away from here, and saw leopards 🐆, deers 🦌, etc. All out in the wild in their natural habitat. It took about 10 hours to explore the forest, and it felt thrilling inside there, as it carried a weird calmness in the air. The forest official who was guiding us is nice person, as he drove the safari to the points where we got ample time to see those wonderful creatures.

Due to summer, 3 peacocks used to come here, to whom we gave grain and water to drink by placing in the beaker. In few days, many birds used to come here and make noises as soon as grains was finished !! Monkeys are very common here, since our area is inside the forest. So they also waved us, albeit they broke pipelines in due process.

Let's see what surprise awaits for us in coming time !!

This is excellent timing considering my first day of school was yesterday, my summer break this year went from June 1st-August 6th and I mostly spent it relaxing at home. At the end of last school year I was extremely burnt out due to taking like 4 AP classes at once while preparing for the ACT and dealing with personal family drama and working every weekend at the same time. While I ended up passing all of my AP classes/tests and got a score I was very happy with on the ACT, I definitely seized the opportunity to just sit around and relax for a while. I ended up quitting my job in mid July due to personal issues which meant I didn't have anything at all going on at all for the last month or so.

Overall, I'd say I had a great time, spending a while hanging around and decompressing without any huge projects was precisely what I needed; and I feel like I took full advantage of my last "real" summer before I move out and have to deal with college internships and extracurriculars.

    - went on THE TRAIN to see Rhett & Link in Chicago May 28-June 2

    - worked myself to exhaustion and dipped on job for a month just to turn around and do a whole bunch for GT
    - AND had to power through my remaining half of each class in ten days over the same gt time period
    - bought a new drawing tablet
    - DID SO MUCH ART AFTER NOT HAVING DONE ANY FOR A YEAR

    PACKED SUMMER!!!!

This was a stressful summer for me- I had to look for an off-campus apartment, roommate, and used car for the fall semester, all while working my summer job and taking a summer class. (There's A LOT I could say about all of this, but I'll keep it brief here.) The funny thing is that all of these things are taken care of- I got an apartment, roommate, and a car, today was my last day at my job, and I finished my class last week- but I don't feel too happy. All of these things were so exhausting to deal with all at the same time, and I have no time to enjoy peace and quiet since I have to move in to my apartment tomorrow.

In other news, I finally took steps to getting ADHD medication. I had to get blood work done last week to send to the doctors so they could fill the prescription, but in proper ADHD fashion, I kept forgetting to call the doctors office to let them know I have the blood work. Every time I would think about it, the office hours would be closed. I don't think I'll be getting the medication in time since I kept forgetting to call them.

Our summer technically goes from middle-late June to the first days of September. I discussed my thesis, got that degree, then I went on holiday with my parents in Croatia, had some little time to rest and do the things I like, which was definitely not enough to keep all of my side projects going and now I am trying to study for the tests to get admitted to the master's degree.

what did you do there or see while you were there? richmond is a beautiful city and it's usually my second home whenever i'm away from florida

Stayed at the Jefferson Hotel. (I don't particularly care for overly fancy places. But family wanted to do it).

    Went to the Altria Theatre.

Saw the local Holocaust museum. Picked up a couple books there. Saw an American Civil War museum. Walked in the shopping district downtown.

It was a weekend trip. We stopped at a few restaurants and a frozen yogurt place.

[PokeCommunity.com] What did you do this summer?

I'm at a point in my life where there isn't much going on currently and I'm thankful for that. But this summer has been nice because it's the first summer since I've moved in with my bf's family and there's been some stuff I've never done with them that I've been able to, things like having first-hand experience with gardening for the first time (both growing my own crops and harvesting and tasting theirs) and there was a trip we made out to a national park one day that was really interesting. As someone who grew up in the big city, we have parks and stuff but I've never seen things like flies double the size of the ones I'm used to or seeing a group of turkeys cross the roads.
This has also been the first summer since moving out where I've been able to come back and visit my parents during the summer, and we've got some stuff going on back home that I haven't been able to experience since moving out like the summer night markets and that was a nice time. The weather is always a lot nicer back home and summers especially are a nice in-between where it's not scorching hot but still refreshing.
FFXIV Dawntrail also came out and that was being pushed as a sort of "summer vacation episode" type of vibe and I was both excited that it released at the perfect time of the year for those vibes and that I could finally play it and uncover its secrets. It's what I've spent a lot of my time doing this summer and I've been wanting to get into engaging with a lot more parts of the game more seriously. It's been really enjoyable, if not a huge time sink, which is kinda exactly what I need right now if I'm being honest.
Being away on a vacation was really nice because having time where I'm pulled away from everything I'd usually be doing let me appreciate the fun I have more and get me more excited and inspired for what I want to do. I've got a handful of things lined up that I want to do during August, some already done and some on their way, but the entire time I was away I was thinking "I cannot wait to get back and do this". It has been and will continue to be a great summer!

It's been a big summer for me.

First of all, I left my former state and moved to the Northeast. Finally... right? I've been talking about it for quite some time! The move is still not even complete, still a long ways to go... But I am here, and very happy.

I've been on the job hunt adamantly. I also have come a long way to solidify the career path I am to take going forward.

I ended up in the hospital with digestion system problems... I will not go any further on that for my privacy, but it involved several days in the hospital and a (minor, thankfully) surgery. Not fun! What a way to be introduced to my new state, right? Good thing the hospitals up here are great!

Being in a state with a coast, I have been to the beach several times. I've never been an outdoors person, this is so bizarre. I am pretty sure I haven't been this tan since high school marching band! (that's saying a lot, I joined this forum a few months after my last marching season lol). The climate up here is quite different which has made being outside more tolerable. Last week we had a couple of days in the 60s and overcast! Truly incredible! (the days I've been to the beach have been more in the 70s and lower 80s, of course).
