well when you say films i assume you mean movies. i mostly watch disney nowdays or pixar or even dreamworks. or other ones as well. some of my favorite movies are:
-tinkerbell
-zootopia
-moana
-trolls
-the great gilly hopkins
edit: i thought of another. other than that tho my minds drawing a blank..
-the twilight saga (yes i know i know. im not even sorry lmao)
theres also quite a few others that i cant think of currently.
I love old school horror and thriller movies. The Exorcist, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Birds etc etc. Examples of masterful film making and suspense instead of relying on special effects.
I had a panic attack when I saw this thread. Look, I've had such a hard time answering this that I literally took a few hours of my day at one point last month and put together a list. One movie got replaced with a new movie last week, but that's it. It wasn't easy, and the list is pretty long. So just for the sake of actually using said list, here are my top 15 movies, with a short statement explaining why:
Spoiler:
Collateral by Michael Mann
Beautiful, dreary environments and wonderful acting make the philosophical banter and mood quite the experience. Predestination by The Spierig Brothers
Inventive sci-fi concept that will take you on a RIDE. Also very well filmed. Your Name by Makoto Shinkai
I added this one last week (and took off Fast Five, which is a great - but not phenomenal - movie). What can I even say... this movie just took me so many places emotionally. I was laughing and crying at the edge of my seat the whole time. The animation is fucking beautiful. I didn't even second-guess myself when I put this movie on here, legit took me back to when I adored animated movies. The Aviator by Martin Scorsese
A wonderfully filmed, insightful look into the life and mind of a man who suffers from OCD. The Pursuit of Happyness by Gabriele Muccino
Cry-fest. Happy ending and a side to Will Smith that I had never seen before. Interstellar by Christopher Nolan
Ugh, so ambitious. Some people didn't think it quite met those ambitions, but I did. The Dark Knight Rises by Christopher Nolan
Easily my favorite superhero movie. The result of putting a genius in the director's chair and letting him flip the genre on its head, teaching everyone just how well defined your heroes and villains can be. Also, Heath Ledger. Snowpiercer by Bong Joon-ho
What a genre film. Geez, took me by surprise. So creative and well-filmed <3 The Matrix by The Wachowskis
What can I even say that I haven't already at some point lmao. La La Land by Damien Chazelle
This movie was so touching and captivating, it blew me away. Mission: Impossible by Brian De Palma
Look, I like all the MI movies (except for MI2, eww), but this one was so much more than an action movie. Brian De Palma is a connoisseur of portraying tension and making you feel it at every turn. The Lion King by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff
Do I... do I even need to say anything here? xD Jurassic Park by Steven Spielberg
Genre-defining masterclass in filmmaking. Titanic by James Cameron
DO NOT JUDGE ME I CRY EVERY TIME. Swiss Army Man by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert
So many people walked out of this movie, I don't understand. What an original piece of art, thoughtful and filled with symbolism and terrific acting. Daniel Radcliffe's finest performance, hands down.
Pfft I am very bad with movies, but some I know I'll enjoy always are the Iron Man movies, Cinderella, and Frozen. Maybe some others if I remember them...
Back to the Future I
Back to the Future II
Real Steel (although it's been years since I've seen that movie so I don't remember if it was actually good)
Iron Giant
