A reboot of an old topic I posted a while ago, but there are new people now! And opinions and viewpoints change.

If PC was an actual community/club/place in your town/city/province/etcetera, then would you still have joined? Why, or why not?
Furthermore! If you did join, would you be any different from how you are online? Do you think you would be more, or less social? Would you still belong to the same clubs, if any? How much time would you spend in PC?

Feel free to answer any other questions that I didn't mention, but are still related to the topic.

Ha ha. Ha ha. Ha ha. No.

If this were like an actual place that I had to physically drive or walk to and would talk to people instead of making posts I would have never joined. I am antisocial as heck and if I had joined I'd be one of those people that just stalk threads/people and then make a random post/comment here and there that completely break peoples thought processes/ conversations and annoy people.

Yeah no, I definitely would not have joined. I like PC because I can be online me, not extrovert me. I can be as self-involved as I want because none of my friends are around to judge me. There aren't any social consequences for saying what I want here, but if PC were a real thing near me I would know more people and there would be more pressure.

I probably would have joined a real-life club. That would be pretty neat and we could talk in person. If it was my community, everyone there would live fairly close and we could have parties and stuff

Noooo. I would get so much crap from people if I was caught going to something like that, since nobody in real life knows I like Pokemon. But I would secretly be wanting to check it out.

probably not. i never joined any groups or meetings before. i'm fine with this being online.

There was a Pokemon Club at my school that I shied away from. Looked rather TCG-centered and didn't seem to have as much depth as a real community. That said, sure, I'd have joined PC if it was an actual community. There are enough different types of things to do and different types of people here that I think it'd be an interesting experience.

Nah, as a lot of people have said before, it would cause problems. Some people know that I enjoy the games, but not that I do things like this. Even if people knew I was on PC it would cause problems. My school is very hard on things like this.

I wouldnt, because it would just be awkward. How would you start a roleplay or a club without looking like an idiot. And on the internet you can be yourself, or someone else

In all honesty, I probably wouldn't have. Even online there's a large mix of different personalities, and though majority of us probably get along with the rest of the members online, it might be a different case offline \: I've never been the type of individual to join clubs regardless of the whether it's an interest of mine or not; I'm not that social XD

I would love to. I'll be more socially active of course! After all, It's not bad to make friends (:

I never had a problem showing that I liked Pokémon growing up. I would battle my friends after school on the chalkboard and draw a stadium or something like that and battle like that as we waited to get called for the bus to go home. I brought my Pokémon games to my after school program and played them without much harassment.

There were some bullies I dealt with in intermediate school, but it wasn't something that ever got to me. I like what I like and I'm not ashamed, or have I ever been ashamed, of liking something. I think that's kind of ridiculous, if I'm being honest. I refuse to sacrifice something I like at the ridicule of others, especially when those other people are more than likely in the closet about it. I wear my Pokémon with pride and a middle finger to anyone who has a problem with it.

Also, Pokémon made a huge comeback where I live after Gen 5 came out, and in college I see people playing it all the time. Pokémon's cool.

I'd also prefer to see a lot of the members here in person. I feel like I have a pretty compatible personality with pretty much anyone offline and I could be friends with quite a number of people if I knew them offline. I'd also be able to punch a few people in the face if it came to that, which is always a plus.

Probably not. I joined this in the hopes that I would find cool people to talk about Pokemon with, but that never happened. I feel like irl the same thing would of happened and I'm not open about Pokemon in my real life anyway.

Don't see why this isn't a good idea. xD If this were an actual club/association/coalition in real life, I'd join in a heartbeat. xD And besides, The staff can act as actual staff for the club!

I'd sooooo join. Totally. I need more irl friends that play Pokemon as much as I do.

Yes, I would join! Most of the people I meet on here are friendly, and share many of the same interests. There are so many interesting and unique people on here, that PC would make an interesting community. Sure I would join. ^^

This is pretty much why I voted yes. Just all of this.

There's really nothing that would stop me from joining theoretical-PC club. I'm not terribly anti-social in person, and I don't keep any friends that I would ever feel I have to 'hide' any of my interests from. I find that a bit silly, if I'm honest. How can they be your friend if they don't know who you are?

I'd probably be just as social. Observe first, jump in later. Just how I am. And I've only joined one club, the cute pokemon one, so I'd definitely still do that. xD

I'm trying to see why PC being a club would be a bad thing to some of you.( I mean besides the fact you're not as interested in Pokemon anymore.) I'd would most likely join PC if it were a club! I'd join the club version of PC because of the same reason I actually joined the website. Because I'm obsessed with Pokemon and would finally have people who love Pokemon as much as I do to talk with. I would be as social as possible, however since I am very shy in real life, I'd probably wouldn't talk as much as I post. Of course once we start talking about Pokemon, I'd be chatting like crazy. lol

probably wouldn't. don't know anyone at all and i think the way i am wouldn't fit with everything else.
i'd rather keep some of my online stuff online, than in person.
