First win of the day bonuses always helps. They always give you 150 IP, they don't stack though, but they are good bonuses to get. Also, and this is for bots only, the higher your level is in League the lower the IP you earn after each match, I don't think it is by a lot if I remember correctly.

Bot lane is for the AD carry and support. The support keeps the AD carry alive and helps the AD carry get kills. The AD carry is meant to carry the game and do the most damage in team fights.

Mid lane is generally for AP champs. Idk why.

Top is just top lane. Fighters go up there. Tanks are jungle/top/support depending on the champion. Jungle is for the jungler, and the jungler ganks lanes and gives the teams buffs.

I would recommend getting familiar with the 5 different positions:

jungler, AD carry, support, mid laner, top laner

The only issue I'd say about playing DotA over LoL is that it'll have a steeper learning curve and more PC members play LoL so you'd have more friends to play with. :P
