The feature of being able to get more of a Pokémon by breeding, which happens when you place a male and female Pokémon in the Pokémon Nursey, or in this current generation, picnics. Do you enjoy this feature? Do you find it useful for Shiny hunting? Do you not really care for it? Please share your thoughts with me.

Likes it. Serves as an additional way to add moves to Pokemon if you have access to certain other Pokemon. Works better in newer games. Would rather not drop to a low level for a move.

Facilitates randomization too. Transferred a bunch of eggs to a new file before. Chose one upon needing a new Pokemon.

Helps for trading. Would hate to go out and find certain Pokemon again OR rely on transfers for more.

Does not care for it as a means of shiny hunting. Applies to shiny hunting in general, in fairness.

Breeding is just kinda fun, honestly. I just love the idea of having a "copy" of a Pokémon at Level 1 so that you can raise it just like any Pokémon on your journey, with the possible added benefits of learning new moves and being more ready for competitive play. Sure, breeding itself isn't as necessary for that kind of thing anymore thanks to Scarlet and Violet's Picnics, but it's still a really fun mechanic for me. I like the Masuda method too.

I loved breeding ever since it was introduced in Gen II. The idea that I can get baby version of some huge monsters like Magmar was just so good. I wish there were more baby Pokémon in later gens.

I spent so much time breeding in Gens VI and VII. I think the inclusion of Wonder Trading made it really fun way breed and send your Pokémon to the world. I still have like 3 full boxes of Ralts with different natures that I used to send out in the world in Alpha Sapphire and Sun/Ultra Moon.

Having said that, I hate picnics in Gen IX. It's awful way to replace breeding and I wish GF will not continue with this trend in the future.

Yes, I do use this mechanic mostly to get the Pokémon I want to train with the natures I need them to have. Luckily I don't care about shinies at all, that must be a pain.
I always use to have a flock of Ditto belonging to every nature I need my Pokémon to have and, as for this last generation, I'm just missing a bold one to find. Hope to get some luck while tera raiding.

It helps me get extra Pokemon that I can trade to others for their PokeDex, so I'm not complaining.

Edit: It saves on Pokeballs too.

Nah, never liked Breeding, and it's not hard to imagine Game Freak eventually getting rid of it since it's becoming a pretty obsolete mechanic over time.

Egg moves? Can be obtained in SV without breeding.
    Max IVs? Bottle Caps.
Natures? Nature Mints, or even the old Synchronize method.
Shinies? There are methods to boost shiny ratio without breeding.
Baby Pokémon? Pointless, wild Pichus, Azurills, Magbys, etc. are already a thing.

And let's be real, there's nothing fun in just walking/running around until an egg hatches, especially if you have to do it with multiple eggs until you finally get what you were looking for.

I don't think they'll get rid of breeding anytime soon because it's just a convenient way of getting another Pokemon from the same family / gift it to someone starting a save file.
Sure you can scamper off until you find say, the wild location of a certain rare Pokemon or find it in a Tera Raid (assuming it's even available in your copy of the game), or you can breed it with something else while guaranteeing a lot of things with minimal effort.

It might be inconvenient for competitive purposes, but that's not the only reason people breed.

The picnic breeding is still too new and kinda weird to me.
You just sit around for a while and hope an egg shows up in the basket, with no visual cue, which is what I miss the most.
You had to move around in previous games, but there were visual cues from the Nursery workers so you could tell there was an egg ready.
However a new egg wouldn't appear until you accept it, whereas in picnicking they just sorta stack up. Which can be both useful and annoying depending on what you're doing.
When I just want to breed 1 egg quickly it's annoying, for example. For shiny breeding this would probably be beneficial instead.

I mainly breed Egg moves, HA and special balls together, though I've also shiny bred quite a bit. I also breed version exclusives on occasion for trading.
Breeding for natures strikes me as pointless given that you can literally just buy mints now at a Chansey store, and I got dozens of them in Galar too without ever buying them.
I didn't bother with breeding all that much prior to Sword/Shield, where I got into it due to how much simpler it had become.

I enjoy it, but not the process of hatching eggs pre-gen 9. It was really slow and I was so happy they increased the egg speed considerably in SV. Only downside with that system is you're forced into picnics instead - ideally they'd have left a breeding center in and sped up the hatching process, at least for me. Getting shinies through breeding was quite satisfying back in the day! Nowadays there are better methods to hunt lol.
