i was looking for a place to talk about pokemon special and i found it here. for a while anyways until the fanclub was shut down and then i moved to forum games but i miss the fanclub very much haha.

yuck, Serebii. I got banned from there so many times when I was 11. <_< I wasn't good w/forums, so I got banned for spam and signatures breaking the rules.

Anyway, I joined PC just because I joined every vbulletin Pokemon forum ever back in the day. lol, that's it. That's the reason.

Exactly! Now I get to be the person who brings a smile to the faces of new users who may have joined in the same emotional state as me. :') I don't know why but I find that so rewarding.

It's a nice, welcoming section to mod. I love that people here seem so welcoming in general. They always have!

Indeed! Even as a mod in A&D, I wanted to moderate this section because I felt like it's really the front line of PC. It's nice being able to do for new members what the mods of M&G did for me so many years ago. <3 I think PC is pretty unique in that we do try to invest a lot in our new members.

I remember being greeted pretty well when I joined! I think this site does a way better job at welcoming people than a lot of the other forums I've been on. I remember getting helpful tips and links and where to go to get my post count going. 😄

I haven't played Pokémon for about 20 minutes. I should get back to it sometimes... I'm slowly finishing my Dragon Monotype in Heart Gold with Kindra and Dragonite and plan on moving on Emerald with pretty obvious team of Salamance, Flygon and Altaria.

It's very fortuitous that this thread is in Pokemon Gaming Central, because I just downloaded Pokemon Go last week! :) The things people say about it helping with depression by getting you out of the house, exercising, etc. were all true!
