☆ POKÉMON BINGO ☆

Welcome (back) to the PokéCommunity retirement home - for those of you under 65 and/or do not know what Bingo is:

Bingo is a game of chance in which each player matches the numbers printed in different arrangements on cards. The game host (a caller) draws at random, marking the selected numbers with tiles. When a player finds that the selected numbers are arranged on their card in a row, they call out "Bingo!" to alert all participants to a winning card.

We play it a little differently here with a Pokémon twist, but the basic principles are the same!

overview

• Each round will be themed, typically after a Pokémon type but occasionally we do special rounds. The themes are on the wheel below, which will be spun to select a random category when a round begins.

• When the theme is announced, participants will have 24 hours to create and post their Bingo cards, filling it with Pokémon from the chosen theme.

• Twice a day (at 10 AM PST and 10 PM PST), I will randomly pull 10 Pokémon from the chosen theme category (courtesy of randompokemon.com) and post them here.

• Reminders of drawing time, wins, round starting/ending will be posted to the Discord bulletin as well - if you would like to be notified, you can add the role @Retirement Home for pings about the event.

• Players are responsible for keeping track of their own cards and marking off any called numbers on it, and the round will run until someone gets 5 in a row!

• A new theme will then be selected, and the game will repeat until the end of GT.

spin, spin, spin the wheel!

Every round will be themed after a Pokémon type. I will choose one at random by spinning this wheel.

Some rounds will be easier than others, of course - there's only about 60 Ice-types, while Water-type has over double that, but the variation should be fun, I hope.

bingo cards!

Once a theme has been announced, you will have 24 hours to make and fill out your Bingo card with Pokémon adhering to the theme.

Here is a basic template, and you are more than welcome to use this one, but feel free to customize and put your own spin on it or make your own from scratch, as long as it follows the convention of being a 5x5 grid with a 'free' tile in the center.

I will take note of all cards posted before the round begins, and then throughout the round you can just edit your post with your updated card (marking off any called Pokémon you have on it).

It doesn't have to be fancy - though there will be extra points if it is - you can do this with any editing software, even like Paint or your phone's gallery editor, as long as the Pokémon names on your card are discernible and you have a way of marking them off.

We will just do the basic 5-in-a-row winning patterns, so any 1 row will count (horizontal, vertical, diagonal). If you have a winning pattern, make a new post saying "BINGO!" to alert me of your win.

scoring

Every win is worth 10 points, but you will have the opportunity to earn extra points with some of the achievements below for this event.

achievements

These will be awarded at the end of the Get Together. Because people were so creative and dedicated to making awesome Bingo cards last year, I've come up with a few more achievements to give points for creativity.

It's Personal: Who says Bingo has to be drab? (+5 pts.)
Designed your own Bingo card.

Stylin': Thanks for making the game so colourful! (+10 pts.)
Designed a custom Bingo card for every round.

Smeargle: Hand-drew a Bingo card. (+15 pts.)
Example of a card that would meet this criteria instead of the first one: Cherrim

Da Vinci: True dedication to Bingo!! (+25 pts.)
Drew all your Bingo cards for every round.

To kick off here, the category for this first round is:

Dragon-Type Pokemon!

To join the game, simply create and post a Bingo card with Dragon-type Pokémon. You will have about a day to post your Bingo card here!

The first drawing will be at 10 PM PST of July 14, and that is also when I will stop accepting new cards for this round. If you have the @Retirement Home role on Discord, you will be pinged when it's time.

I'm going to give this a shot too. Sorry for sloppiness as I can't draw worth crap. XD I also hope it follows rules. ;w;

Slapped this together really quick. Barely sees the background anyways. Never played Double Dragon.
Spoiler: Card

Double Dragon Bingo Card 1.png

Row 1: Naganadel, Kommo-o, Axew, Gible, Vibrava
Row 2: Archaludon, Gabite, Altaria, Drampa, Haxorus
Row 3: Hakamo-o, Arctibax, FREE, Duraludon, Tyrantrum
Row 4: Hydreigon, Noivern, Dragonair, Dragalge, Noibat

Edit: Will not upload a new bingo card for every update. Bets on XenForo not liking so many images in a thread. Updated the text part, though. Crossed off four: Hakamo-o, Goomy, Shelgon, and Kingdra.
Edit 2: Another four: Naganadel, Hydreigon, Tyrantrum, and Noivern.
Edit 3: Three this time: Noibat, Dragalge, and Kommo-o. And the final version.
