I've actually thought on that direction before posting that suggestion. -nods-
But I disagree, because having a Lifestyle forum is more focused on that aspect; The Treehouse is more more free flow than any forums, not focused on a particular subject. (:

Put in on this way, the contents of Entertainment & Hobbies section actually fits in The Treehouse! But they still have their own sections, right? ;)

So this suggests that if there came to be a Lifestyle section, then The Treehouse would be that "Chit Chat" forum more than ever?

Seriously though, I'm cool whether you are against or supportive. We can't just please everyone, haha. :P

Absolutely not. I always thought "Chit Chat and Polls" as well as "General Chat" were names that were indicative of the contents within the section. If a Lifestyle section becomes a thing, then the old names of The Treehouse would be more fitting than ever.

Animal forum called Animal Planet

Catpic threads, dog training tips, super weird animal of the week, pet name discussions, "Why Lonely Forum Goers Greatly Benefit From Getting A Pet", mythological beasts you wish were real, how would a dragon actually breathe fire, "Bugs - food or friends?" etc etc

A quick glance on a random PC related skype chat makes it clear that we are all about pets and dragons
 
I'd be down with a lifestyle section, something with fashion or aesthetics, or a food section with recepies or actual discussions, not just "i had mcdonalds today lol".

No weather tho plz, that's the most uninteresting topic to talk about.

Yeah I've had enough of those boring hurricanes and tornados!
 
Ideas I had:

1. Clothing, fashion, cosmetics, etc
2. PETS
3. Sports
4. Food, but more of a "share your ethnic/national cuisine, heritage, etc." type

Also @ Treehouse overlap, honestly I feel like most of these ideas (including most of mine) would overlap with GE more, realistically.
 
We should totally have a mafia forum here on PC like I've heard it's the bomb... oh wait we already have that... :3

But on a serious note, I'm in for the food forum I guess... Might I suggest an Undertale forum? Considering a lot of people had played it + PC YT is planning to do a Undertale run, I don't see why not?

I'd totally be down for a sports forum. I feel like most people don't realize sports topics go in GE or are just too unsure of where to put them so they just...don't. I think that there is enough interest in sports across the forum that it could potentially work. And be fun!
 
I think we're all missing the real point here. Pokémon.

What we need is a forum paying homage to the greatest pokémon of all. A big forum for a little brown guy. That's right.

A bidoof forum. That's what we need. A vote shouldn't even be necessary.

I'm sure this will be a forum that a lot of science heads such as myself would love, and I could see it being completely viable. Preliminarily, the category headers would be Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Social (Psych & Socio) & Nature, and would hopefully encourage engaging discussions on certain topics, talk about new science stories/discoveries as they break and the rest.

The stickied threads featured would obviously be a DCC, maybe an old homework style thread where quickfire questions about certain topics could be asked and answered and section rules.

Events for the section could be cool. Fortnightly events surrounding one of the sciences could be held, creating a buzz for a certain area of science. Fully fledged scientific debates on topics like cloning, fracing and psychodynamic psychology could be held. Contests could be held, such a photography focused on nature, sustain a city - how best would renewable energy be used, what would the surrounding ecosystems be like etc.

Actually we don't really have any place for mature, nerdy science threads! Space included!!

With splashes changing every week to a new theme, perhaps space with create-a-planet contests and stickied alien debates, then chemistry next week (<3) with homework help thread, stickied environmental pollution debate etc. All while any kind of natural science topics would still be allowed in the main forum regardless of the week's theme.

As long as it's split from the political and cultural discussions of RT and lifestyle and randomness of TT.
