The solstice celebrates the return of the sun, or sol, when St. Ice sacrificed a reindeer to Jack Frost and then everyone had eggnog and partied.

No, actually it's when the north pole (in the northern hemisphere anyway) tilts away from the sun at the greatest angle.
 
I remember in 2009 when I first learn about of the 2012 end of the world theory and I started to panic and now, its less than a week away and I'm not bothered in the slightest!

Yeah, I would never be able to have Christmas again... or even experience more future twists and turns to PC.

And yeah, I do agree with you that it's all just a big joke.
 
I can't even stress enough how badly this whole 21/12/12 doomsday has been theorised. I must've heard at least 15 different stories.
 
But the 21 is my last day of school! If we die, we're going to have a very angry highschool student.. my whole life has been pointless this whole time :< and I haven't done anything amazing yet.. qqq
 
My last day of college is the 20th. I'm pretty happy about this.
 
It's not going to end. It's not even what the Mayans "predicted".

It is kinda like the Mayan-equivalent of when you get a new calendar in January. That current cycle is over, a new one starts. Just like it has many times over

Well, apparently the Mayans predicted it. A load of BS if you ask me...

Recently, theres been so many stories to do with Illuminati, Nibiru, Nuclear Wars and whatever else, it's so unbelievable now I actually pity the people who have sold up just because they think we're going to die.

Y2K, 6/6/6 and last year anyone? We've been dying for years. 21/12/12 is fear-mongering at its best...
