30 Days of Gaming V2

Day 18 - Favorite Protagonist:

I haven't really played games with a talking protagonist, but I suppose I could fudge again and go with the Social Bunny from The Sims 2 that helps you fill your social meter when you've been horribly neglecting it, since it helps you realize that ALL your Sim's needs are important. though sometimes I was a bit of a sadist and deliberately prevented that meter from being replenished at all just to have the Social Bunny appear

Otherwise, all the silent Pokemon protagonists, and the quirkier of the Pokemon Professors.

Day 18 - Favorite protagonist

James Sunderland has to be up there for me. The way his character brought me in and... I can't explain it really. Just one of my favourites.

Day 18 - Favorite protagonist:
Leaf from Pokemon FR/LG, without question. Her design is just so awesome and cute. For a non-Pokemon game, the leads from the Atelier series, particularly Rorona and Totori, come pretty close.

Day 17:

This was a hard choice for me. There are so many good ones. Have to go with Kefka though.

Day 18:

Was going to say Mao from Disgaea but I had to go with Ezio Auditore. He is my favourite character in general from recent games but he fits in with the play style I like the whole hide and assassinate thing. Which I do all the time in MMO as assassins (also call myself Ezio :P)

Time for a long post, guys!

Day 10 - Best gameplay:

Weeeelll, it IS pretty obvious as far as my opinion goes: Devil May Cry 3 (what did you think I was gonna say?). This game is just beast when it comes to gameplay. The character does EXACTLY what we ask him to do. I mean, it happens in every game, but the timing here is just perfect! You push a button and it happens at that precise moment. Almost every game I've played relies either on QTE or is so bounded by realism that you can't get protagonists to perform speedy maneuvers as fast as you press the buttons; save this. It just feels great to avoid an enemy attack by teleporting over another enemy and then blasting it away with your pair of handguns or killing them with your electric guitar. And the sheer speed with which all the action occurs on the screen is astounding. Talking about the Turbo mode of this game, btw. Makes EVERYTHING 20% faster. The ability to be a trickster and teleport over enemies, triple dash out of a wave of enemy; to be a swordmaster and demolish those demons in dozens of crazy ways with your sword, nunchakus, guitar etc; to be a royalguard and block every single enemy attack while receiving minimum damage whatsoever; to be a gunslinger and perform stylish attacks like spinning around in the air while hitting all the demons below with a barrage of bullets; to be a Quicksilver and slow time down or a doppleganger and Fight alongside a shadow of your protagonist...the possibilities are almost endless. I've yet to find quite a lot of attacks and combos even though I've been playing this game for more than fifty hours and have beaten it five-six times. I don't think games these days have stuff like this. This game just owns as far as gameplay goes.

Day 11 - Gaming system of choice:

PC. I don't own a console (even though I wish to get one SO BADLY OMG). This opinion is subject to change, obviously. Might actually get a console next year, soo...

Day 12 - A game everyone should play:

Not Devil May Cry here. I'd advise each and every single gamer to try Portal/2 out. Those games are just awesome. Valve definitely came up with one of the most original ideas I've ever seen in the world of video games and they've made sure their games leave nothing to be desired. The games are fun, good-looking, have great gameplay, a really amazing voice cast and some really nice characters. <3; Go play 'em.

Day 13 - A game you've played more than five times:

Devil May Cry 3. Probably the only game. Apart from Pokemon Crystal, Fire Red and Ruby.

Day 14 - Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper:

Spoiler:

Day 15 - Post a screenshot from the game you're playing right now:

Silent Hill 3: Posting an older screenshot cuz cbf'd to take another one. The pic is Heather fighting the second boss of the game. And I'm currently in the hospital First floor.

Spoiler:

Day 16 - Game with the best cut scenes:

Devil May Cry 4, hands down.

Day 17 - Favorite antagonist:

Vergil from Devil May Cry 3. He's a guy who is power-driven; can do anything to gain power. And what does he seek limitless power for? To protect the ones who are close to him. He lost his mother when he was only eight. Killed by a bunch of demons who were ordered around by his father's greatest enemy, the ruler of hell. He seeks power due to the fact that he felt powerless when he was young. He never wishes to experience that feeling of helplessness again. But he never makes it a point to let anybody know about it and behaves like a cold guy who can even go as far as stabbing his very own twin brother in the chest by his 5 foot long sword but he's a likeable person. He probably knows the guy he's stabbing in the chest won't die, anyway. XD; Alright, besides what I just said, this guy is freakin' awesome since he can slice a horde of demons in half in the blink of an eye with his katana and looks extremely cool. <3;

Day 17 - Fave antagonist

I generally love everything equally in all the games that I like, but even though I don't have Portal, GlaDos is just...why aren't computers self aware yet?

Day 18 - Fave protagonist

Uh...Link and Tetra from Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass. Even though Link never talks his facial expressions are soooooooooo cute <3 And Tetra is the perfect amount of sassy and it's jussssst omggggg

Day 19 - Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in

Spoiler:

Not the Kanto region specifically, but rather any region of the Pokémon universe. It's been said countless times by casual players and die-hard fans alike, so I want mirror them too much, but just think about: After a tiresome day of school, you encounter a brand new species of Pokémon and capture it. The next day you are the center of attention at school and are praised amongst your friends. See? That's just one example of how immensely awesome it would be for Pokémon to be real.

Day 18

Gordon Freeman, from Half-Life series. He never needs to even say a word to be the most famous icon of gaming. (Look it up if you don't believe me, he beat mario for top gaming icon)

Day 18 - Favorite protagonist

Aqua from Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. She only got a mention in my "favourite character" post so now she gets a paragraph. XD;

Kingdom Hearts doesn't have a history of overly strong female characters. They're all either useless (for plot reasons), irrelevant, or very flat (...not that way! well, okay, that way too, probably). So until Aqua came along, there just wasn't anyone to look up to. But in BBS? Yeah, she becomes a Keyblade Master before the game even starts and is probably the most capable character in the whole series game. She also plays to all the strengths that I need for the playstyle I use when I play KH. (Round barrier + all kinds of magic + not slow + double jump. <3) I love her personality, character design, and pretty much everything about her. She's easily my favourite protagonist in anything, nevermind just video games. ♥

Bit late with this one, don't have an answer for day 19 yet so I'll get to it tomorrow. XD;

Day 19

I already mentioned in earlier post that both of the Baten Kaitos games had some of most imaginative cities I've seen in any game so it's my obvious choice.

Spoiler:

Couldn't find any good pics of this, so I had to settle for the world map view instead of the actual city. The entire continent is covered in a veil of pink clouds.

Spoiler:

No need to explain this one. It's a city made entirely of candy.

edit: Forgot to mention that everyone in this world also has wings referred to as "Wings of the Heart" that are a manifestation of a person's soul. Plus, everyone lives on flying continents too.

PUT PICTURES IN SPOILERS PLEASE!

Spoiler:

Living in the world of Symphonia would just be epic! :D

Day 19 - Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in

Spoiler:

The .hack// universe. There would never be a shortage of things to do, people to talk to, and fun to have.

Day 18

Terra from Final Fantasy VI. As far as games go, Female lead roles these days tend to take on a quite sexist, more male appealing role. Terra is one of the icons from the 1990s who would subject to this idea. Sure, she's attractive and sassy at times, but it's not over done like you see in female protagonists these days. She's pretty much just any chick, who can also smite evil mo'fo's with her bad ass magic. Definitely one of the better characters I've played.

Day 19

Spoiler:

This was really tough for me, but I'm gonna have to say the MapleStory world, after consideration. Sure, the game itself may not be agreeable with everyone, but you can't argue that the sprited graphics and maps aren't beautiful. It has a massive variety of environments, all unique to some kind of timeframe or mythos. It'd definitely be a totally sweet place to live. The map I posted doesn't do it justice though, because each continent on it is like a small videogame world in itself. If you're curious, just look up the places, idk.

I was agonizing over what to pick for this when I realized "you dolt, you know exactly what series you'd want to live in." Yup, gimme a Cherrim and drop me in Sunyshore and I would be very, very happy. :D

Day 20 - Favorite genre

This is a tough one. I am a big fan of your standard action/adventures and, well, I enjoy most genres of gaming really. I don't shy away from one genre, I tend to give most games a go.

However, thinking back to which have been the most enjoyable and if I was pushed to give an answer, I would say RPG. These types of games have just given me so much enjoyment over my gaming years.

18 (wow, what a delay I have XD) - Protagonist:

Link from Wind Waker. He's such a buttmonkey in the game, and yet he's so adorable. Plus it's one of the few games where he seems to have a soul.

19: I wish I lived in:

Spoiler:

Contigo, from Golden Sun (fun fact: in the Spanish localization, it's called Mitdir- which means "with you" in German. Guess what's the meaning of 'contigo' in Spanish).

20: genre: RPG's, no doubt, with plataformers in a close second.

Day 20 - Favorite genre

RPG's, especially JRPGs. Besides the anime influenced graphics, I'm a big fan of the lengthy storylines, how the characters develop both stat-wise and in their, well, character, and their relationship with other characters. I'm also a fan of their lengthy gameplay.

Day 19
I wish I lived in hoenn. shocking this is my only pokemon one. I love everything about that area hoenn was by far my favourite.

Day 20

RPG. I love any rpg really from strategy to turn based. Love good storys

Day 20

It's quite obvious from my posts that I'm quite the RPG fanatic (particularly JRPGs) Started way back in '01 when I came across a review for FFIX in a gaming magazine. Pretty much bought a PSX for that game only and I've been in love with the genre ever since. Now about 90% of my gaming collection consists of solely RPGs. Immersing yourself in a good fictional setting, with a good storyline, gameplay, and music are the things I still enjoy the most about them.
