Are there any Pokemon you feel should have a change in type?

Flygon - Bug/Dragon (which by the way NEEDS to happen when they eventually release it's mega.)
Golduck - Water/Psychic
Lake trio - Psychic/Fairy
Celebi - Grass/Fairy

While I can sort of understand why it is pure fighting, you usually find Grapploct in the water, so I think it's better off as part Water.

As for things that I'm not with, I absolutely and wholeheartedly disagree with the whole Pikachu and Chansey being Fairies. Cute =/= Fairies. And besides, a Blissey that is not Normal would be kind of OP.

It would be irresponsible with how many Pokemon would get the Fairy typing if I were in charge tbh.

when fairy type was introduced, i genuinely though celebi was going to get a type change and was quite frankly surprised it didn't.

lake guardians also should be fairy type tbh.

I once heard someone mention the fact that Chingling should've been Steel since it's based on a bell. It'd probably lose the Steel type when it evolves but that'd be neat on its own too. I'd love having something like Scyther or Onix where you can choose to have an evolution with (or in this case without) the Steel type in return for some kind of trade-off. Maybe Chimecho could have a lot more Psychic moves or some kind of neat ability, while Chingling would have a lot of resistances with its Steel type and maybe give it some funky new toys like Metal Sound or whatever. It could be a really cool idea, but Pokemon losing types as they evolve is something they seem to never wanna do.

Shelmet could've been Steel too.

I know someone has already mentioned this, but I will say it again because I feel very strongly on this one: Flygon absolutely should have been Bug/Dragon type. The fact that it is Ground type instead of Bug type is a travesty, and Flygon might be one of my least favourite Pokemon of all time because of this.

Celebi and Jirachi definitely should have had their Psychic type replaced with Fairy when the Fairy type was introduced. I wonder if the only reason they didn't is because they are mythical Pokemon and so "not worth it." I can see an arguement for the Lake Guardians, though I don't think those are as egregious. Maybe they'll be made Fairy type when they release BDSP, though. 🙂

There might actually be a reason why Psyduck/Golduck isn't Psychic type: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JywZqYU0Q98

Sabelye, Spiritomb, Galarian Corsola, Cursola, Galarian Yamask, Runerigus... Literally at least one of these things should've been Ghost/Rock in my eyes. It's kind of amazing we don't have a Ghost/Rock-type yet.

I assumed that the original Yamask and Cofagrigus were Ghost/Rock until Galarian Yamask and Runerigus came along, which led to me looking it up. I'm still not clear on why those latter two are Ground type instead of Rock type.

I actually have a Ghost/Rock type in the fictional game I'm working on. :)

EDIT: I do not appear to be able to type the name of the Pokemon that Yamask evolves into without the f being changed to an h, which I'm assuming is the result of a poorly-programmed profanity filter. 🙄

Yes, exactly. Hell, if it is possible to actually change the typings of creatures without introducing a new type, I'd sy they MUST retype Flygon to be Bug/Dragon. I mean, I do understand it's actual typing, but there are SO many reasons it should be part Bug, as there are tons of insect inspirations here and there.

I also side with the second paragraph. As for the last paragraph with the video on why Golduck is not Psychic, I can see the point that it's possibly because the ducks can't control their psychic powers and that's why they aren't the type. Although by that logic Pichu shouldn't be Electric because it also can't control it's electric powers...

Feraligatr, Luxray, Glalie, Zangoose, Seviper and nighttime Lycanroc should have all been Dark-types!

Can certainly side with Lycanroc, Seviper, and maybe Zangoose. As for the other three, well, have we ever seen an evil side to them? We probably haven't, so it would be unlikely they would be Dark as the original name for the Dark type is the Evil type and you can see some of the attacks are inspired by cheap/dirty tactics. If there isn't really anything particularly evil about the mon, the chances are no Evil type.

Yes, but that's been ignored tons of times in the past to have Dark represent a nocturnal, stealthy typing as well. Heck, when it was introduced we got Umbreon. Not to mention Absol is a Dark-type apparently because people in the Pokémon world think it's evil when it's really just trying to warn people about disasters.

Let me explain my reasons for the other 3, maybe you'll agree with me:
- Glalie is straight up based on an oni.
- Feraligatr's Pokédex for Gold, Stadium 2, LeafGreen, HeartGold and Y says "When it bites with its massive and powerful jaws, it shakes its head and savagely tears its victim up", and its DPP and BWB2W2 entry says "It usually moves slowly, but it goes at blinding speed when it attacks and bites prey." so it's clearly very aggressive and brutal, which were enough reasons to make not only the Sharpedo and Hydreigon lines Dark-types, but even Morpeko.
- Luxray is more of a stretch, it's mostly because it looks more like a Dark-type than some actual Dark-types, but I do imagine it more of an Absol-like Dark-type in which it's not necessarily evil but looks like it. However, considering it's based on a Lynx we can assume it hunts by stalking and its Pokédex mentions how it uses its x-ray vision to locate targets behind walls, both of which are stealthy tactics (in fact, the move Pursuit is pretty much stalk hunting, even though Luxray doesn't learn it), which is pretty much the reasoning behind Umbreon and Greninja being Dark-types. Not only that, Luxray's coverage is mostly Dark-type and it even gets Snarl naturally in Pokémon GO, despite not being Dark-type or a canine (it also gets Crunch but what mon doesn't amirite).

In the fictional game I'm working on, I created my own Bug/Dragon dragonfly Pokemon the way I feel it should be done, and one of its Pokedex entries states that it despises Flygon with a passion and will attack it on sight. For added vindication, I made it the game's psudo-legendary Pokemon. 🙂

That's really cool! I can definitely see why people would think Flygon should've been part bug, but it does seem like a fitting dragon in its final form too with how large/draconic its body looks (to me). I feel like dragon/bug may have actually worked better, but either suggestions are good. 👍

We talked about this recently on one of my Twitch streams. We were playing Emerald and were discussing how Illumise and Volbeat should be part Psychic to make them more relevant. I also always wished Porygon was Psychic.
