[PokeCommunity.com] Ask The Fox Dweller (if you want)

So I may have been totally blind and stupid and not realized this thread even existed somehow? Gonna spend some extra time here to make up for then.

No problem? I didn't exactly advertise it lol. I'd like to think I make myself easy to approach for things like questions even without a specific thread, but I figured I'd make one anyway for the fun of it. :p

Do you have any reasons for modding Meet & Greet specifically? What appeals to you about that forum section and do you have any other thoughts to share about it?

M&G was the first section I started Modding for, and I joined (I was originally going to wait a year before trying to apply for a position on the staff team to prove I wasn't just a trouble maker and that I was consistently active, and it would have been for the Trade Corner, the section I originally joined for lol) at the request of (one of my now best friends) Fact Checking Gardevoir, who was running it alone at the time and wanted some help. It's become a very dear section for me since then, and another reason for that was because I originally wasn't interested in greeting (or really talking to people in general outside of trades) people, and only started when I noticed there would be a considerable amount of time between someone new posting and the first responses showing up.
(it wasn't for days or anything, just during a specific time slot that I was around in that greeting people weren't) So I started acting like a buffer so that new people wouldn't feel like the site was 'dead' if they didn't get a response in a little while after first joining, and doing that was enough to attract attention I suppose. :p It's also a great 'starter' section to Mod for, so I had a chance to really learn the ropes without it getting too chaotic too quickly, and I had a lot of support from FCG when I first joined, so that helped out a ton.

You can only play one video game for the rest of your life, which one is it and why?

Minecraft or Skyrim, for the simple reason that I can effectively mod in whatever other kind of game I want to play over the top of them. (not perfectly, but better than most others I know of)
They aren't 'my favorites' on their own, but they are wonderful 'framework' games for me lol. I don't care which, spin a wheel lmao.

Is there an underrated or underappreciated piece of media you want more people to know about?

(TRANSFORMERS ARMADA) *Ahem* I would say the DS game "Sands of Destruction". I almost NEVER hear people talking about it, yet it has some of the most interesting characters and personalities I've seen in a (almost fully voiced DS game BTW) game like it. It's story is very compelling on a first playthrough, especially when you consider that the 'heros' are actually trying to destroy the world rather than saving it. It's an incredible game that I wish had more attention. My only real issue with it is that some of the boss fights can feel 'pretty BS' mechanically, so for anyone wanting to try it out, do keep that in mind. (ESPECIALLY the flying ones... >.>)

If you were a character in a Persona game, what would your persona be like and what arcana would it be?

I haven't really looked too hard into that aspect of Persona, and it's been waaaaaay too long since I watched a guy play P3 on Youtube to say, sadly. When I finally get the chance to play my copy of FES, I'll let you know! ^^

What's something you really want to get into but find you never have the time/motivation for?

Modding more games. I have a great new laptop I got specifically to play beefier PC games with mods, but I just have such a hard time finding motivation to actually look into how to set them all up and such, that I rarely ever actually play any of the games that I've wanted to for a long time lol. (in fact, if it weren't for you and your bf, I still would be procrastinating about Minecraft lol, so thanks for giving me a reason to- and help with- getting that working)

What's a general piece of advice you would give to someone if they told you they were struggling? Keeping this vague.

That is... A very hard question to answer. >.> Saying something like 'hang in there, it'll get better' just feels fake and/or half-hearted to me. Like, 'of course I want things to get better for you, so why state the obvious?' I guess... But at the same time, it's also kinda true. My life has been absolute garbage for most of my childhood, (and still is for a few reasons) but it's found spots where it's gotten so much better that it actually feels like I have a reason to live now. But stuff like that takes time. So in the event a person is going through a hard time, as generic as it sounds, 'hang in there, it'll get better' is honestly pretty accurate lol. Hope that was vague enough? >.>

What's your least favourite game and what was the best part about it?

Ooooh wow that's a hard one LOL... >.> There's plenty of games I really didn't enjoy, but I still managed to either beat them anyway, or still feel like I didn't waste my money on them.
There is currently only 1 exception to this, so if you want to count that as my 'least favorite', then go ahead lol. :p And that would be the '''official''' remaster of Metroid 2. I straight up hated it only after my first 10 minutes. I absolutely would have refunded it if I could have, and it completely killed any interest I had in the 'official' Metroid series games made by that team. Dread? Nope. Not playing it. Don't care how good or bad it is. Not giving Nintendo another reason to keep them around. Absolute trash. ESPECIALLY because of what 'the big N' did with AM2R, which REALLY pissed me off, in a very similar way to what Disney did with Star Wars when they first took over lol. I gave both of them the benefit of the doubt, and got Fire Blasted by both. So they're both dead to me. As for 'best thing', I'd say the graphics were... Fine? I guess? >.>

What's your ideal breakfast?

Yes. (okay for real, I don't really have one lol, I like all kinda of food all times of day, and I've never really had a proper schedule to appreciate 'breakfasts' like most people, it's usually just 'first meal of 2' for me)

Since you've seemed to be enjoying it, are there any specific things you're hoping to see or would be interested in seeing in Love Live in the future? Do you have any expectations you want met?

I'd like to see them tackle an actual relationship for once. I think having a member (or members) of a group have to try finding a way to balance that aspect of life since it's something mentioned in passing on the show before, but not really gone into beyond that. And before you (or anyone else) says 'but it's tabboo for an idol girl to have a relationship! even with each other!' I'd argue that's the dumbest part of the fandom for me. Let that be a plot point for one of your shows! It'll help make at least the one or two idols who go against the norm stand out, so long as it's written well anyway.

And did you have any previous expectations that were either proven true or surprised you that they turned out false? Besides the end of Sunshine Season 2 I suppose

I didn't have any expectations going in beyond what I'd come to understand from talking with you, actually. I wasn't really into anime before we started talking, so a lot of the tropes that an avid watcher might look for are unknown to me lol. Plus I knew that going in with wild expectations would only ruin it for me. I wanted to just experience it for what it was. ^^

Do you have a favourite LL sub-unit that you'd want to see more songs from?

I don't really know the sub-units all that well. It's the same thing for me and proper bands. I just don't really follow that kinda thing. They all sound great regardless of who they're singing with lol. :p I'd say currently anything that has more You, Kanata, or Shioriko in it would make me happy, as those are my favorite girls from a vocal perspective. ^^

Do you have a favourite story arc or specific point in the story of Love Live so far?

The end of SIP season 1, and the SIP movie in general. I love the arc where Honoka quits, and I love seeing her all grown up. (adult Honoka might just be my absolute favorite character in the series, it's a crime we inly get to hear her sing twice... >.> spinoff PLEASE)

From the various bits and pieces you've picked up about it over time, do you have any opinions on the LL mobile games and do you think you'd be the kind of person to enjoy playing them?

I love every single thing about them except the platform they're on lol. If they ever got a Switch port, (or even a decent PC port) I'd absolutely try them out! Though they do look rather hard from the clips I've seen... >.>

Thanks for the questions! It was a very nice surprise!

What's your favorite game?

Impossible question. I can say my favorite game from a few systems, but nothing absolute. For the NES it's Zelda 1, for the N64 it's Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, and for the OG DS it's Sands of Destruction, (thankfully I only first played RH on the 3DS or this would be MUCH harder lol) but it's impossible beyond that.

What's your favorite character of any medium?

I almost said the same answer, but I actually do have a favorite on this. Starscream from Transformers Armada is my all time favorite character. (he's the one I have on my profile banner LOL) His whole character arc is one of the biggest reasons Armada is also my favorite show despite some of its bigger faults.

These 10 from left to right are: Honoka, Rin, and Nico from SIP, You, Ruby, and Mari from Sunshine, Kanata, Ai, Shioriko, and Setsuna from Nijigasaki. ^^
What videogame mechanic do you wish never existed?

Does 'adding a gimmick to a game series that it doesn't need' count? Cause the forced melee thing in Metroid 2 Remake was disgusting to me lmao.

And on that note which mechanic would you like to see more of?

I feel like 'good' collectathon games just aren't as popular anymore. I'd love to see more actually good 'get all the things' games out there.

At least how many foxes are enough to give you comfy feel ?

The short answer is 'yes', and the long answer is 'all that have and will exist'. :)

What are your twenty favorite turn-based rpgs?

Thanks, Alex.

It's tough to pick absolute favorites, but I can list a lot of the ones I really liked. There are tactical turn-based games on here as well, because I didn't want most of the spots to just be 'Pokemon again, Pokemon again, Pokemon again' etc. In no particular order:

1-Radiant Historia 2-Sands of Destruction 3-Chrono Trigger 4-7th Dragon III Code 'VDF' (or at least it was when I first played it, now it's called "VFD" for some reason >.>) 5-Stella Glow 6-Pokemon Crystal 7-Sonic Chronicles the Dark Brotherhood 8-Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga 9-Paper Mario 64 10-Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door (classic, the only thing that I know of from the remaster that I liked better is how they fixed Vivian's storyline) 11-Pokemon Shield 12-Banner Saga (all 3 parts) 13-Bug Fables (I don't need to have played it to know that I'll like it lol) 14-Nexomon Extinction 15-XCOM Enemy Within 16-XCOM 2 17-Darkest Dungeon 18-Regalia of Men and Monarchs 19-Lisa the Painful 20-Lisa the Joyful.

Thanks for the question! :p

Between Aria and Dawn, what were some of your favourite souls to use? Whether they were just interesting, useful, flashy, or whatever?

Between Aria and Dawn, what were some of your favourite souls to use? Whether they were just interesting, useful, flashy, or whatever?

Well, to start off with Aria's red souls:
Red Minotaur was one of my most used. Something about a giant massive damage-dealing axe chopping its way through bosses was always fun to watch lol.
Tiny Devil was a great help early game, even if it fell off after a point.
Disc Armor was just fun to play around with.
Small shoutout to Beam Skeleton for having one of the neatest of the more useless souls in the game.
Valkyrie was the middle-ground between Tiny Devil and Red Minotaur, so I also feel like it deserves a mention.

For blue souls:
Something about the ability to 'Matrix freeze' yourself in place in the air with Medusa's Head soul was always really funny to me.
I used Shadow Knight and Alastor for a bit after I unlocked them during combat and I thought they looked really neat.
Black Panther (after figuring out why I didn't use it sooner lol) was also super useful, though it would be neat if it didn't show up quite so late game lol.

When it comes to yellow souls, there really isn't much to say beyond 'the ones that made me stronger are cool' sadly, but it doesn't make that statement any less true.
I suppose Lubicant deserves special mention here, though lol.

For Dawn's red souls:
The Great Axe Armor soul should be obvious here lol. :p
Warg I used a lot in the early game, it helped me out and it was easy to level.
While I found the soul itself absolutely useless, the description for the Imp soul I found to be very funny "Create a space that inflicts spiritual damage" sounds like you're just shouting mean things at the monsters LMAO.
I also used Axe Armor way more than I expected, but after you power it up a bit, it gets pretty good!
One of my later game souls that I really liked was the Amalaric Sniper, the fact that you could spam the heck out of them and shoot enemies on different floor levels easily made it useful.
A couple of honorable mentions are the Rycuda and Mandragora souls, both for being somewhat useful and also pretty funny in the case of the Mandragora's "yeeAAAAAHHH!" lol.
Witch was one I used a ton after I got it about halfway through the game, and still switched to it even after I got more directly powerful souls simply because it's tracking made it very valuable.
The last one I'll mention (because this is getting long) is probably my favorite red soul in Dawn, and that's the Malachi soul. It was annoying to farm up to the strongest level, but it was sooo worth it.

For blue souls:
Beyond repeating myself for very similar souls in Aria, I'll just mention the 'new ones' but things that just buff stats (like Devil) are also always nice.
The first one that comes to mind I already mentioned, the Gergoth soul for it's massive beam attack. (I just wish it was more useful lol)
Others would be Skull Archer and White Dragon for just being neat.

Lastly for yellow souls:
There really aren't any that stand out beyond just 'stats increase', but again, those are always welcome lol.

why did you do this to me?

Because I just can. :)

What's your favorite Radiant Historia character?

A surprisingly easy question for me. The main antagonist! (who's name I won't say due to a certain someone planning on playing it soon)
Spoiler: If you are interested in Radiant Historia AT ALL, DO NOT READ

Hi there,
What is the one thing you wished you could do that all the other 'cool kids' are doing? (ie. ride a motorcycle, get a tattoo, grow your hair and never get it cut, self publish a book, etc.)

Hi there,
What is the one thing you wished you could do that all the other 'cool kids' are doing? (ie. ride a motorcycle, get a tattoo, grow your hair and never get it cut, self publish a book, etc.)

I would say 'be able to drive in general' would be nice lol. But otherwise I'm not really sure how to answer this, cause I'm not normally one to follow trends for trend's sake alone, so no clue.
Being able to draw well would be neat, though. If that counts.

What is your favourite meal of all time?

Honestly? Just a couple of really damn good sandwiches lol. I'm not too terribly picky on the type of bread so long as it's as fresh as possible and the rest of the ingredients compliment the texture and flavor of the bread. As for the ingredients themselves, I love veggie sandwiches especially, though I also enjoy a sweeter style (like a classic PB&J) from time to time! (or eaten alongside a really nice veggie one)
