Today, I walked into my girlfriend's mom elementary school and she confiscated some boys phone and looked through the pictures. Apparently it had 'Thug' Pictures on it and the teacher said. You shouldn't have thug pictures like this on your phone. You know the boy who got shot at the gas station had thug pictures like this all over his phone.

Like what the hell who does that.

The only bad experience I've had with a teacher is during Grade 11 Chemistry. I had her for Grade 9 Science, but her attitude changed when she got divorced; was bitter as hell. Normally I know my handwriting can be problematic because I write small, but no teacher has ever told me to rewrite my test during class. She told me, "You're writing's too small for me to read. Rewrite it." Yeah, I ended up dropping that course later on, not like I needed it anyway. Otherwise, I'm always respectful towards teachers and get into little to no trouble.

Usually when someone's phone actually rings in class, the teacher just glares at the students and everyone's giggling. The staff at my school have enough intelligence to know that the humiliation is enough to not have to take the phone. People laugh more if it's a custom ringtone of an overplayed song.

This one time at band camp, one of the students in my Algebra 1 class freshman year had I'll Tumble For Ya by Culture Club as his ringtone, and sure as ♥♥♥♥, his phone rang during the lecture. The laughter was simply uncontainable, especially 'cause he was black. XD

One of my professors last semester made students come up to the front of the classroom and dance to Call me Maybe when they got caught with texing or ringing phone. Ingenious idea.

Oh my god, I would love to have that professor. It should be known by now that texting is not acceptable in class, really. And to be honest, in my two "in-person" lecture classes, no one ever texts at all, which I find quite surprising tbh

When I'm in class, if we are being lectured and stuff, Id rather listen than text. However, I text during busy work unless I'm trying to speed through it. Most my teachers don't really care at all.

Some of you text during class, others listen.

Sometimes, I do neither.

Back when I was in university, there were a significant amount of students and with the classrooms/lecture halls being large, the professor wouldn't notice me texting :P Not like any of them seemed to care anyway. Now, my class size is about ~20 (I see the same people every single day) per course so it's quite noticeable for teachers to see so I don't do it during class time anymore.

I might be moving to another school with about 15 students per class, because of some major mental issues I've been having. And I really don't want to go, because they don't have JROTC, and JROTC is my life. :(

I text an obscene amount in general, honestly.

Tell me about it. Not sure what your definition of obscene is, but sometimes I get curious as to how many texts I send within a month and somehow it racks up to 3000+...If I didn't have unlimited text messaging that would be problematic DX

Honestly, if your teacher was making up some baloney like that, you should have gotten your band teacher on her. I mean, what was wrong with making up the quiz during a lunch period anyways to her? I couldn't even begin to count the amount of times in high school I had lunch with a teacher or just went up to a teacher's classroom to make up an assignment during my lunch period.
I did tell my band teacher about it. He said just go and take the quiz and that he will talk with the French teacher afterwards. This wasn't the first time she had done it too.

I never text. I probably send and receive about three text messages a month. I don't get cell phone reception at my house, so it's not like I could hold a conversation anyway. Even when I'm out and about, when I get a text message, you have a 5% chance of me texting back. Am I the only one that finds texting people to be tedious and annoying?

Nowadays I text an insane amount at school. I don't really care what course is going on, I just take notes, follow a bit of the lecture then text :)

Edit : Slayr, it depends on whom you're texting really. Tbqh I used to hate texting and I went months without doing it. But now, I've found great people and we perve/joke around so much I don't see when time's up.

How is it tedious? D: It's akin to typing. If they don't respond, that's their fault.

I have so much trouble following what goes on in here. I don't even try to go back and figure it out, because somehow it transitions without me noticing, and I get lost and give up.

You sir, described the purpose of the DCC! Topics can go from one to another within a matter of posts, or just one :D That's the fun of this thread~

People can say what they want about the DCC, it's still less hectic than a group chat room. x___x Trying to keep up with those is horrid.

I imagine my roommate is pissed with me right now because I forgot to mention that my mom is staying in my apartment for the weekend because it's cheaper than a hotel and she's also bringing two cats.

Oh, and we'll be celebrating my birthday tomorrow, even thought it isn't for another four days.
