Doom II: Hell on Earth
MAP09 The Pit Pt. 1

We lost... a lot of Doom Marines at the Pit, normally used as a refuling site at Earth's primary spaceport, now a literal hell hole. Still without any weapon in Doom 2 but the Pistol, we sent Marine after Marine to their deaths to get some more checks, getting us closer to hinting for a weapon. We still don't have control of the Pit, with the southern and northwestern sections being locked by doors we don't have the keys to, but we have at the very least taken control of the central pit and barred the demons from using it as a fuel tank.

Most of the items here are consumables or money, but we found an outfit for Coil and a Small Key for Alex's Link to use in the Skull Woods. We also found genetic modifications for Ravagers to Deep Tunnel, which would be useful if we had any Zerg Ravagers.

Alright, time to make an update.

The Red Magician's been able to fully clear Level 1 thanks to the small keys, and was able to clear a bit more of Level 3 with an extra as well. I also found a wall I could bomb to avoid using one that led right to the boss, so the Level is done, but not empty. That's all I could do for now.

As for ALttP... *sigh* I honestly am really not having fun with it at all. I hate the entrance shuffle. Way too much to try to remember and I'm not one to take notes. I'll never be using that setting again, but for now I'm just going to Hint as many things to win as possible to just get it over with. I'm hoping there will be more of these soon so I can play again without the entrance thing active, because even though ALttP's far from my favorite Zelda game, I do still enjoy it a lot as a randomizer. So far my Hammer and Hookshot are both in Arc's OoT, and my Boots are in their SA2. (you know I'm not enjoying myself when I resort to unrequested hints LOL)

Do you want the entrance list from the spoiler log? Might help you to navigate the world without taking (as many) notes yourself.

1000% yes. If I wasn't playing this with others I'd have tossed the run by now.

Tried a simpler entrance randomizer before too (twice). Disliked it as well. Ran all the way to Ice Rod Cave for Dark World access (without boots and flute) tooooo many times. Placed a ton of items in early spheres too. Led to a lot of backtracking and heavy use of bombs.

Also wanted the tracker to have some means of entrance tracking. Might be on the list of things for the tracker's developer to do. Could be wrong on that, though.

Edit: Could probably tell you what most locations are, if you are unfamiliar with the names used here.

Thanks a lot for this, it helps immensely.

Sounds gross. >.> In my case, it's 'all roads lead to (an almost completely useless) Death Mountain'...

Also wanted the tracker to have some means of entrance tracking. Might be on the list of things for the tracker's developer to do. Could be wrong on that, though.

Edit: Could probably tell you what most locations are, if you are unfamiliar with the names used here.

I'll be able to figure them out alright, thanks. I've been through most of them already anyway, I just need to be able to say 'I need to get here' and know what entrance to go to. And most of those places are 'Palace of's.

Doom II: Hell on Earth
MAP16 Suburbs Pt. 1

Still without a non-pistol Doom II weapon, I sent dozens of Doom Marines to their deaths in the bloodiest level yet, with all the Mancubi in particular being extremely difficult to kill with the Pistol or Berserk Fists. That being said, I did clear the level thanks to it not resetting on my Marines' death, allowing me to brute force the Mancubi with sheer numbers. I still need two keys for this level, one to reach the exit, and a second to kill the last two monsters and get the five remaining items here.

This level had a bunch of items, a Heart Vessel for Castlevania and a Piece of Heart for Ocarina of Time, a set of Black Bolts for FF12, Boat Hire designs for Roller Coaster Tycoon, and a pair of Emblems for Arcaneum's SA2. I'm also only three items away from being able to get my first hint in Doom II.

Doom II: Hell on Earth
MAP18 Courtyard Pt. 1

Again brute-forcing a level without the proper weapons, we got all the items in the Courtyard on Earth, and killed every demon on the map, though technically demon infighting did most of the work for us. There were a lot of items here, with Mini Suspended Roller Coaster blueprints for Devalue, a Circlet for Castlevania, a Candle for the Messenger, an Emblem for Arcaneum's SA2, a Relic for the Defect, and stronger Protoss shields and more starting resources for all our Starcraft armies.

We still need the Blue Skull to actually secure the exit, but other than that we don't have anything left to do here. And, I finally have a hint for a weapon in this game. I used it on the Rocket Launcher since it's necessary to beat the Icon of Sin, and it's in Lowtown, as the second Dalan Crescent Stone Reward in @Pumpkin Spiced Memes's FF12

MAP17 Tenements Pt. 1

I sent a couple Doom Marines to explore the southern section of the Tenements, on Earth, but couldn't proceed much further without the red key for this level. A few Doom Marines did die, but they did kill forty demons and grab a couple snacks for Mario or Luigi, and the Messenger in Dracula's Castle.

I did a bit more cleaning out in BRC but I got gated off by REP faster than I expected, today's probably a slow day for me but I at least cleared out the first shop in The Messenger and I can start spending big amounts of Time Shards when I finally get them. Chipping away little by little until we can make good progress! For now though, I'm essentially walled off in my games.

MAP28 The Spirit World Pt. 1

Still without a non-pistol weapon, I sent Doom Marine after Doom Marine to the Spirit World, a particularly strange realm of Hell, where they died in droves to get us twenty one different items. Most of these are just consumables or money that are more useful for getting progress for another hint for me than they are for the game they're actually from, but I did find a Bean Fruit 6 for Mario and Luigi, a Seashell for Claire, a Cura spell tome for the FF12 party, and Pulse Grenades for Nova.

We've technically beaten the Spirit World, at great cost, but there's still two rooms that we need a yellow Skull Key for, which together hold eight monsters and an item.

"Commander Raynor, there's no way we can take that position without casualties. Are you sure you want us to die like Doug and Larry died for that Mushroom?"

"I gave you an order, Doom Marines. The Messenger wants to eat a Banana, and I can just train more of you at a Barracks after you die."

"But can't you just go to a store and buy one?"

"You guys only cost fifty minerals each, it's cheaper this way!"

It was sort of a pain to find the exact year Prime takes place in, but the best I could find were mentions that apparently, Zero Mission (which is before Prime) takes place in "20X5", Federation Force (which is after Prime 3) takes place in "20X6", and that Prime 4 is apparently confirmed to take place in "20X9". I saw someone throw out the idea on a fansite that Prime takes place in 2076 and they created this whole timeline that... honestly seems too cramped for my liking? But 2076 would be possible with those numbers. I'm as proficient in writing sci-fi as I am... uhhh... something I'm not good at? So I'm really under the assumption that I can throw out any date in the late-21st century and it'll at least seem okay if you don't think about it too hard lol
Really, I don't even think they've confirmed if the Prime games are even canon to the rest of the Metroid timeline. It's a (slightly?) interesting topic but I don't mean to derail this thread from the game!
If anything, I think that 20X5 is in Base 36, which would put it as 94505 when converted to Base 10. Of course, a calendar not in Base 10 is likely not a human calendar in the first place, so it could easily be synced up with basically any human calendar year you want.

Mission 2/32: MAP29 The Living End

Still stuck with the Pistol, I did the final Doom II level I had access to, the Living End. This was an exceptionally difficult level to play without any weapons, since there were lots of enemies on ledges I couldn't kill with the Berserk fist, and at the very end there was a Cyberdemon who killed over twenty Doom Marines, and took roughly 400 pistol shots to kill. We got several items here, starting with a Small Key for Alex Fox's Palace of Darkness in LttP, then a Windvane and Power Rod for FF12. Further on, I got a powerful Siege Tank upgrade, but I can't train Siege Tanks at the moment so they aren't very useful. I also found an Emblem for Arcaneum's Sonic Adventure 2, a BMX (Terrazza) for the Bomb Rush Crew, and some consumables.

I am now hard-walled in Doom II until someone sends me a new map or key. Of my four games, the only one I have checks available for is Starcraft II, which is very open-ended and there are only a handful of maps I can't beat with my current arsenal, just those requiring air units that can attack ground units/buildings or Kerrigan/Nova no-build levels I don't have the hero upgrades for. I've also found the location of the Plasma Gun for Doom II; Arcaneum's Chao Garden, where @Pumpkin Spiced Memes will need a Chao with a Dragon Horn to unlock it.

Eevee to the Past (Part 3)

Cleaned up some shop checks. Increased bomb capacity to 10 to 20, which was all the remaining bomb cost checks in shops (11, 11, 13, and 18 bombs). Nothing good.

Also found a hint: Flippers at Halls of the Damned (E2M6) Backpack in Explorer of Time's DM1. Do not feel rushed on that. Expects it to show up very late. (Did not bother doing a mention.) Needs more health for the remaining 5 shop checks.

Open RCT2 (Part 3)

Built two Boat Hires for checks. Got Rouge's Pick Nails for Arcaneum's Sonic Adventure 2 and...another Boat Hire. Okay game.

Slay the Spire (Part 3)

Fiddled a little more with trying for different cards. Appears to lock them in once you look at them. Waited a few combats. Found Creative AI in there. Is that the best card? No. Costs a lot of energy to use effectively. Loves using it anyways.

Cannot influence the relics the same way as the cards. Goes in a set order, regardless of source. Recognized the new Tiny Chest from Explorer of Time from a previous run. Helps get more relic checks.

Took a slightly different path. Saw Mayhem (play the top card of your deck automatically for free) before. Hoped for it again. Nope. Grabbed a Defragment instead, which is the best card. Paired well with several Cold Snaps and Chills from the Archipelago card draws.

Fared better than previous runs on the back of Creative AI. Looted the last piece of the puzzle from...somewhere: an upgraded Blizzard (deals damage to all enemies equal to triple the number of Frost Orbs channeled). Basically turtles up while Blizzard grows.

Beat the second boss again. Forgot to see what the final boss is before. Way dismayed to see Awakened One, probably the worst possible boss. Grows stronger for each Power card you use. Hard-counters Creative AI, basically, and most of the Defect's better cards. (Kind of hates this about Slay the Spire. Completely ruins some builds on the random final boss.)

Needed to get past the Giant Head elite first, which blocked all routes to the boss...or not. Received the event that warps you straight to the final boss on the first '?' space. Done.

Went less than great. Tried powering through the extra damage. Nope. Only using Defragment and waiting for Blizzard? Nope. Managed to beat phase 1 once. (Notably drops the +strength for Power cards buff. Never knew that.)

Allows you to keep starting at the beginning of the Act, on the plus side. Attempted a new route, in hopes of getting another Blizzard or something. No luck. Fought the Giant Head and lost too.

Truthfully expected to be done by now. (Is not complaining, for the record.) Completes Slay the Spire with very few items most times. Usually plays Ironclad, though. Tossed this game in as a quick extra. Would have done Ironclad, Silent, and Defect for a more serious Slay the Spire run.
____________

Waits on more items to proceed. Refrains from cashing in hints yet. Expects some things from Arcaneum's worlds. Mentioned likely not doing much yesterday and today in Discord previously, for anyone that did not know. Should be back soon.

Mission 8/83: Forbidden Weapon

Moving on the offensive, we took our army of Protoss to liberate the nearest planet, Glacius, which the Federation* had used as a prison to house dissidents who opposed their kleptocratic rule. We built up a large army of Instigators backed up by Wrathwalkers and the Sentries we found stored in the Ara Tribe Protoss base, but the Federation had warped their flagship, the Spear of Adun itself, and continually blasted the area with its Purifier Beam. Not to be deterred, we raided every one of their bases and broke the prison free before they could turn the Purifier Beam upon the prison itself and slaughter the prisoners. The Federation also stored an Emblem for Arcaneum's SA2 here, and a Vox spell tome for FF12, alongside some money for that game and some arrows for OoT.

*I'm renaming it back to what it was last time to avoid having two Empires, since the faction I'm planning to play for a third Archipelago will be something canonically called an Empire.

Mission 9/83: A Sinister Turn

Our next world to liberate is the planet Zhakul, home to the Preservers. Unfortunately, the Nerazim Protoss here on this planet have fallen for the Federation's propaganda that we were behind the destruction of Shakuras, so we had to fight them. Like last mission, we built an army of Instigators and Wrathwalkers, and we also got two Dark Templar from a Dark Shrine on the planet that we immediately merged into a Dark Archon.

Luckily for us, Maar had survived the Federation's attack and was hiding out in the wilderness, and attacked us. That isn't sarcasm, by the way. Maar is, unlike most hero units, vulnerable to my Dark Archon's mind control, giving us a powerful hero unit and taking away what would normally be a persistent threat throughout the mission. With Maar backing up our army, we were easily able to clear all the Preserver bases and slay the Preservers. It's unfortunate that we had to fight them, but hopefully we'll get word out that the Federation actually blew up Shakuras so that this situation doesn't happen again.

Since for plot reasons, we do not have Kerrigan, let alone an uninfested Kerrigan, I'm going to substitute Maar for her as our Zerg hero unit for all my writeups of my missions with Kerrigan. This mission also had a lot of loot. We found a Fire-Suppression System to heal our Terran buildings at the Robotics Facility to the west, and Maar himself gave us the key to enter the Phobos Computer Station. The northeast Preserver base had the Nayru's Love spell for Ocarina of Time, and the Templar Archives just south of it had 33 Coins for Claire. The southwest base had a Thor upgrade to give them an anti-air mode, but we can't train any Thors yet and they're rarely available as starting units in missions.

The three Preserver leaders each had something valuable. The first had a pair of Light Shoes for Sonic, which we gave to Arcaneum's Classic Sonic since our Modern Sonic already has a pair. The second had the Apocalypse ability for Maar, a strong ability that's basically a nuke in hero ability form. We never got this last Archipelago so it's great to have it now. Last, we got tech to make Hydralisks cost less resources, but this is useless for now since we can't build Hydralisks in the first place.

Doom 1
E1M7 Computer Station, Pt. 1

With the entrance to the Phobos Computer Station unlocked, we sent in a single Doom Marine in to secure the northern third of the facility. This was a heavily-populated base, but mostly by Zombiemen and Shotgun Guys, who went down easily to our Doom Marine's Chaingun. We sent a Terminus Est to Dracula's Castle, as well as another Banana, and kept the Augmented Thrusters for ourselves, which allow our Planetary Fortresses to lift off just like Command Centers can. However, we need two more keycards to fully take the Computer Station, so we can't complete the level just yet, and we are once again walled in Doom 1.

I know I already made this joke but oh my god I'm just playing Castlevania: Fruit Salad at this point... How many fruits are in Symphony of the Night???

Eevee to the Past (Part 4)

Decided to give Kholdstare some attempts. Dropped a save state outside the boss room. Normally dislikes doing that. Saves...5 minutes per attempt? Takes a while to flute to Kakariko, deliver the fish for the full magic, and go all the way back through Desert. Regrets nothing.

Started in no better position than before. Has 8 hearts, no armor upgrades, no half-magic, no bottles, no sword, and no Bombos. Dies to two puff hits (4 hearts each), four falling ice hits (2 hearts each), or some combination of the two. Needs to hit each of the three puffs 8 times with the hammer to win. Scores 1 hit on all of them at the start, with good timing.

Prevailed after about a dozen attempts. Probably saved about an hour with the save state. Earned Crystal #2 with that, which means Ganon's Tower access. (Did not know it was a crystal before trying.)

Eyed a small key on the torch in Ganon's Tower. Made sure to use keys well, in case of some being in the (inaccessible) right side of the tower. Ended up being unnecessary. Picked up every other small key while there. Simply needs to not burn a small key on a pointless locked door.

Reports a pretty smooth climb. Consisted of lots of easy regular enemies. Defeated Moldorm in the icy arena, Lanmolas where it would normally be, and Mothula near the top. Died to Agahnim at the peak (because of trying to use a hammer to win), but eh. Will need to head back there eventually. Lost no checks for doing so, however.

Found Industrial Zone (Map 15) for Explorer of Time in there, plus some additional starting Vespene Gas. Saw a Blue Water of Life in Zelda 1 and a heart containing for Link to the Past for Alex_Among_Foxes as well. Not much else, however.
