My 18th birthday wanst very exciting, neither was my 21st really, I just had a beer, that's about it.

Turning 18 this October, probably going to buy myself a game (if I have the money) to celebrate. Other than that, I don't do much else to celebrate.

I...don't know what I'll be doing on my birthday this year. .__. I'm hoping something special, but honestly, I'm not looking forward to birthdays after my 19th. Its just another reminder that you're getting older, and I really don't need any of that. xD
Well, you live in the US so you still have the big 21 to look forward to! :( Here in Canada there's really no reason to get excited past age 19. It really is kind of depressing to just get older with no more young adult milestones.

/whining because she turned 24 a few days ago and would rather be like 12

MY ENTIRE LIFE pretty much.

I don't know. It's like, when I was young, I wanted to be old because I wanted to be independent. Now I just wanna be a kid again. .___.
When I was a kid and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I just told them I didn't want to grow up. I knew being an adult was gonna suck from the get go. XD; It was a little exciting to turn 13 but after that I sort of started to dread birthdays.
Happy belated birthday :D

Yeah. I can do anything I wish (within law) in Alberta, but it's 19 in BC lmao. A lot of guys come from BC to get a good drink here (We're about an hour and a half or so from the BC border here in GP) and stay the weekend while getting over the hangover the next day.
Haha, Quebec is the Alberta of Ontario then, I guess. I know lots of people who attend university in Ottawa tend to hit up Hull in their first year because the drinking age is only 18 there. I'm not a big fan of drinking either way though so I don't think I really touched alcohol until I was 19 anyway. :P I didn't go out of my way for it at all.

And thanks! Although I kind of wish the birthday hadn't passed because, you know, ugh 24. XD

The real appeal of being of age is just being able to walk into a liquor store, pick out something you like, and bring it home to have a quiet (well, quiet-ish) celebration with friends or something.

I've never, ever understood the appeal of getting wasted... or even getting drunk. I hate it so much. And doing that while out? Man, drinks at bars and restaurants are expensive. No thank you. D:

Ive never actually been to a liquor store despite the fact that I'm almost 26, but I like that I can theorettically go to one and buy alcohol. I just don't like drinking that much, so I almost never have any alcohol around.

A lot of my friends like getting drunk. Not blackout drunk, but our get togethers generally revolve around alcohol now and it really sucks sometimes. :( I vastly prefer the part of the evenings before the drinks come out to babysitting all my friends when they're drunk. (I can't drink within hours of bedtime because alcohol can affect my sleeping pills and also, you know, don't like being drunk.)

I guess people tend to like it because it's so easy to loosen up when you're drunk, so it's a way to unwind when life starts getting more stressful, as it tends to do as you get older.

I didn't celebrate my 18th birthday, but i did celebrate my 21st! Then my 22nd birthday was a day to whine about OH NOEZ I IZ GETTING OLD. And it might be the same when i turn 23. lol

Good Derky! That's the spirit!

Ate a bowl of fresh fruit this morning, with natural yogurt. Although its been a while I've actually eaten Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Sorry to hear that, Twilight Sky :( I could use a job myself. Im not seeing many options when I look though :/

DERKKK, ;; I hope you get another Job really soon, it must really suck to be unemployed... But I still hope that you get a job that you would want, since getting those kinds can be a real pain in the neck. >.<"! Also don't go do anything rash, just saying. <:O

I myself still am looking for a job until I start college in September, getting a first job is really really tough especially when you don't have sales or customer service experience, which is what every employer looks for, so I'm in the whole "You can't get a Job without Experience", and "You can't get Experience without a Job" boat, and I can tell everyone here that it really sucks and it's really sad. I'm just hoping for the best as I apply away at various jobs, hoping to get SOMETHING. :/

Well my only experience is customer service so guess what kind of job that gets me? I would prefer something better than that :/

Speeeeeeaking of jobs, last night I got two potential job offers as a full-time summer nanny. But...for some reason I still wanna go to summer school but I still want to earn money during the season.

DECISIONS.

I had an interview with Aflac yesterday, I'm really hooping I get a second interview, but I was in a room wit a bunch of 40 year old men in business suits.

Then there I was in a white Express blouse, khaki dress pants and cute heels. DID I WIN THE GENDER VOTE? I SURE HOPE I WON THE GENDER VOTE CAUSE MY AGE SURE DIDN'T HELP ME.

I bet that was intimidating as hell, wow. Not sure I could do that if I was your age, haha, especially not surrounded by all the professionalism.

Whilst I'm at uni over the next couple years I intend to work part-time at a nearby Greggs (English bakery chain) for the majority of the time, but for a career I'm looking either towards conservation work or teaching, depending on how the future pans out :p
