Actually, moderator PM space was increased recently from 2,000 to 5,000.. but I'm not sure how much y'all's PM space is.

Wow that is a big jump... mods sure are taking quanta-leaps forward these days. Not that I use them a lot these days because I like fast reply via VMs instead.

I think this has been explained before, by one admin or another (possibly Audy or Steve). If I remember correctly, one of them said it would be greedy for them to display a tier which requires so much money. So, they hide it. :/

It used to be donating the exorbitant amount to get Tier 6 would (rightfully) earn you larger avatars than moderators (though s-mods and admins had bigger restrictions, which made sense). I can maybe see the logic in having larger PM oxes for the purpose of record keeping, but a 240x240 avatar would be bigger than the post contents itself on some resolutions. But, the staff got selfish and decided that they deserve almost 1 1/2 times more than the hidden supporter tier all because they close/move a few threads a day and hand out infractions every so often. Yes, I'm singling out the moderators, because the H-Staff (1) do a lot more work than the moderators, and (2) know better than to stretch the postbit with an avatar that isn't all that great.

Does anyone even remember what avatar limits were for? They were to save on people's bandwidth, right? How can someone with dial-up possibly load a thread (god forbid a DCC) when all of the mod posts has a gargantuan avatar of some B-list celebrity, or some mediocre fan art that their friend on dA asked them to promote?

As I am aware of your position, you should know through context that I'm clearly not singling anyone out. In fact, I have avatars, signatures, and images disabled since I'm on a non-smartphone mobile device, so I couldn't be singling anyone out.

On my desktop I just downloaded an image blocker so I can nip those things in the bud without sacrificing the quality of avatars between 150x150 and 175x175. :)
 
i still have 2,000 messages as a limit, so I wasn't as affected by the change. It's a lot for me now, but back when I was staff I always reached the limit, so I kinda wanted more space haha.
 
AHahahhaha what, you guys have a porn forum? I swear, PC has so many secrets. And opposite of what many of you seem to think, mods don't know half of them. We're just working here okay. :3
 
I'd be a Tier 6 right now if the Supporter Minecraft server didn't put me $40 in the hole on PayPal.

Not saying it's a bad thing, though! I'm glad I'm hosting the server, albeit I'm trying so hard to get that 170x170 avatar, not to mention access to the porn forum.
 
You really shouldn't be trying to donate to PC just for perks, if that's what your going for. Donating to PC means a lot more than just earning perks as a thank you, it means that you are showing true support for this community.

So if you don't have the money now, then go ahead and wait.. it's not a big deal at all if you don't have the money for Tier 6 yet :)
 
I donated when I was new, and wasn't aware of perks or anything like that back then. I only donated $25 an immediately I was slapped with an italic name and other perks.
 
I'd say you can donate if you want for whatever reasons you've got. PC is helped by it in any case.
 
Main reason I wanted supporter was because of fancy profiles. Wish was eventually granted come my 20th birthday.

But aside from that, I am just glad I managed to support the community and I'm also happy to have been able to post in this secret DCC. I wasn't aware of the 150x150 avatar size until after I became supporter.

Mods have access to it to, don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about. Do you want me to post your nudes all over the forum?
