6th Gen Contests Return!

Glad Berry Blender and Pokeblocks are back, I remember having fun playing that game and creating Pokeblocks was actually enjoyable!

Yeah, there's no way there's two fabulous people in the same region as contests with the same hair/eye color without being related. Maybe she wants to dethrone her big brother? Or maybe even we get something crazy, like 2 on 2 contests! PC/Rival vs Lisia/Wallace.

I think that's not a bad bet to make @ her being related to Wallace. He always has been rather artsy as well.

So glad that it's been confirmed that for the most part contests are back to their RSE form rather than the DPPt one. Appeal and jamming moves, great. Much more fun this way imo. I hope one can still win to the point of getting a picture (remember that sidequest part of contests?) without needing to use a Pokemon that mega evolves though.

Or, Maybe Wallace isn't returning and she's just a new character heavily based on him
 
I doubt Wallace will be replaced by her. I do think they can be siblings. Hey maybe Steven is her current Boyfriend, explaining how Wallace and Steven know one another :P
Btw I like better her name in the Japanese games. Wonder why they didn't keep her name as Lucia for the international versions :(.
 
Omg Brendan looks AMAZING in his Contest outfit! :) Considering how much time I'll be spending doing Contests... I might have to pick him as my chosen Protagonist now lol xD
 
I wonder if we will be able to do contest over WiFi. I think it would be pretty neat and give the peop who don't like battling as much something to do(I am /not/ one of these people)
And to be honest, they seem to be working pretty hard on contest maybe the x and y sequels will get contest
 
Oh, it will be wonderful if we can get some contests going on over Wi-Fi indeed! There can be like, contest competitions and such! And I'm really impressed with the 3D contest stage and the ability to Mega-evolve during the contest appeals; things are set to be quite wonderful and beautiful with these mechanics, and graphics!

I do hope that they'll take contest battles a step further and allow moves to be more visually appealing if you combine them with other moves, like the pledge moves you'd get from BW, in which, I think two sets of moves in a double battle can create a rainbow, or something like that?

I think that'd be great to see. :3

DPP had contests through local wireless so I see something like that returning. Actually irc you could use link cable/wireless adapter to do contests with friends in RSE.
Also I doubt they'll be in Z/X2Y2/X0Y0. GF has done a lot of work in past features for them to not return in the next installment. The next time we'll probably see contests will be in DP remakes (assuming they are indeed made, and the Gen VII pair doesn't have them)
 
Wow, Wi-Fi contests would be so awesome. Especially if we could compete with friends! I can imagine all the fun events that would come from that. :] I can't wait any longer omg.

Hopefully it'll be online Wi-Fi if the did that, instead of Local Wi-Fi like how DPP's were. Then we could host an awesome Contest event on this site (maybe for a Get Together, or a ORAS special event) :3

And to think I considered it being possible with Berry Blending, orz Being able to do contests with friends online would be extremely fun! Maybe they could also have something similar to Wonder Trade or Battle Spot where you can do contests with random people (which sort of reminds me of Wi-Fi Square in PtHGSS, haha). Same deal with Berry Blending, where you can do it with friends or with strangers online.

I would like that. It'll be similar to the random battles of Gen V (and the current battles against non-friend players online).
 
I still fear the possibility of rage quits occurring in Contests' online Wi-Fi. It's bad enough that traditional online battles have their fair share.

Funny you should say that, because I found this showing Lucia's relation with Clemont.

It took me a while to notice Lucia's name got changed in the English version to Lisia. I don't get what that name has to do with contests but I actually liked her Japanese name better in my opinion.

And it looks like our trainer is still Entry No.4 in every contest, just like in the originals. Pretty cool to see the participants revealed by their picture appearing on the screen now as opposed to just walking out when they are announced.

However, I don't think we can wear any costume other than the Rock Star (for Brendan) or Pop Star (for May) based on what I've seen.

Oh, and for those who are questioned if they are keeping the "jamming" feature the originals' Hoenn contests had or changing to Sinnoh's format, there's some good news for who preferred the former after seeing this:

Damn, it has been so long since I last played a Hoenn game. I totally lost touch with how the actual contest works. (Those black hearts and stuff)

GF made some subtle changes to the naming. I remembered it was 'beauty', not 'beautiful'. Not complaining though.
And yes, I remember Yato's post saying that it's now "clever" instead of "smart".
