No seriously, it is rude.

And it's not the same thing as being near someone and talking to them. You can do things and talk to someone in the room at the same time.

With a phone, you have to either drop everything that you're doing and do nothing but talk with them or you try and do things with only one hand. I always hate it when my mom calls me in the middle of playing video games or when I'm typing up a paper. Have you ever tried to do either of those things with one hand?

Also, bluetooth is uncomfortable. It's exactly like ear buds. It's amazing with all this technology around I've yet to come across an earbud that doesn't contort your inner ear into an uncomfortable shape. Earbuds are the worst.

Probably because you've never bought an actual nice bluetooth. It takes hours for one designed for comfort to hurt your ears, far longer than you'll probably be talking to the person, but they cost 75+ bucks so if you've already decided you don't like bluetooth then you wouldn't be spending that money even if it solves the exact problem you're having. Mine is a truck stop one that hurts an ear after an hour or so but the anchor is switchable so I flip the anchor around and stick it in my other ear when it starts hurting. No big deal.

The fact that you can't figure it out is on you, not them.

I really enjoy phone conversations, but ultimately it depends on the conversation chemistry between the two people. If neither can keep it going then yeah it's boring and I rather text.

In other news I finally went on my tinder "date" last night and it went so well and I am a very happy little girl today!!!!!!!!!!

I decided to give Tinder another shot so I downloaded it on my phone when I got home from work about half an hour ago and I already have four matches! Tehehehe!

You do know you don't have to answer a phone call? Especially when you're already preoccupied, right? Please tell me you know this.

I keep trying, believe me. It's a no-win situation. Don't answer the phone, people (especially my mom) will ***** at me for never answering it. It's almost like an obligation, but you're right. Maybe I should say "**** you" to my mom more often.

Ew, don't use Tinder. That's gross.

god forbid your mother loves you and wants to talk to you! you're right, **** her!

My mom and I have hit a compromise. It used to be that we always talked until one of us wasn't able to anymore, hours and hours and hours. I told her a few months back that I needed some more space so we still talk a lot but she doesn't mind if I tell her I'm gonna get off the phone. Because we are adults and friends.

Is there anyone else that calls their mum more often than she calls you.
Literally any major thing and I'm callin my mum, I need some female support in my life.

I've been playing Plague Inc., but can't beat biological weapon x_x

This is the first game in like a year that I've enjoyed playing on the phone

On another note, I HATE texting
I am the worst person to text
I always answer them, but I have absolutely nothing to say
Texting people is amazingly uninteresting

But everyone just wants to stay at home watching Netflix shows
And here I am, with nothing to do
/rant /mad

My mom just visits. I see her at least once a week. We also text every now and then, like when she has a bad day, I'm there. We're pretty close.

I prefer texting just a wee bit more than phone conversations, simply because it's easier for me. I'm soft-spoken and have to repeat myself a million times and it gets awkward for me. :s

Phone calls are the worst way to communicate with someone.

It's like "hey, drop everything that you're doing and talk to me for 30 minutes, idiot."

Rudest way to communicate with people.
That's why you start with like, "are you busy?"

I'm more text based usually because... I dunno, awkward pauses are more easily handled. But a verbal conversation is infinitely preferred otherwise. It says "hi I actually want to talk to you"

My mum never calls me. She lives on the upstairs floor of my house so there's no need really, if she wants to say high she can just walk downstairs and find me, I'm generally always somewhere in my house.

In other news, I NO LONGER HAVE TO CLEAN FACTORIES FOR A LIVING! I start work as a Metal Roof Layer on Tuesday! My brother-in-law called me whilst I was on my way to work last night and offered me the job, so when I got into work I basically finished my required duties and told them that I wouldn't be coming in anymore. It felt gooooood.

Leaving for Canberra next Tuesday (which gives me aaaallll weekend to play Smash Bro's) and I get back in 2 weeks, I'm oh so much more than excited.

Good job mate! Sometimes making a big step in one part of life is enough to make others. Working 8 hours/day 5/days per week got me to lose 15 kilos, having a paycheck made a girlfriend feasible, and I'm thankfully on the verge of getting power for the house me and my parents live in. Oh, and I now owe nothing to the government! Hooray for jobs!

people tell me I am a great person to text

this is just the word on the street

Along the whole mom and me communication. We have it set that we call in emergencies or if there is a specific reason.

Otherwise we talk once a week on Sundays over the phone.
