With the addition of Gitta and Nemona, I would like to compare there popularity to other characters from the franchise. So cast your vote for the best champion in the whole franchise.

The two topics were so similar that I ended up merging them.

And as champions as a whole are more of a Gaming thing (specially since Geeta and Nemona haven't made an appearance on other media such as the anime or the manga) I moved the thread to Pokemon Gaming Central.

Thank you, so much. Do you think you could maybe delete the famel one and just leave the general champion poll? sorry its my first post here and I am not used to the mechanics of this forum.

Keeping the conversation about female champions, Nemona is probably my favorite character in the entire Pokémon franchise because I love her personality. She is a great friend to your character, sincerely wants you to perform at your best, is very cheerful, and extremely competitive. Her team is also pretty good and she was aware enough to pick the starter whose secondary typing has an advantage over yours, which differs from a rival like Hau. However, even though Nemona might as well be the "true" champion of the Paldea region, the truth is that Geeta is still considered the "actual" champion despite not being the final boss. Thus, if Nemona doesn't count, then I would say that Iris is my favorite female champion. She has a strong team, is actually somewhat challenging on Challenge Mode, gets involved in the story by helping you out in certain instances, and of course, climbs up in the ranks despite her age. She is easily the youngest Pokémon champion, which is commendable. The most overrated is definitely Cynthia.

She has a reputation for being the most difficult to beat, even to the point of becoming a meme, but she's really easy to defeat and has a bad team. She literally has like five special attackers on her team, including a specially attacking Lucario, which is simply not better than physical Lucario, and Garchomp is her only physical attacker. Yet, many of her Pokémon on her team also have a weakness to Ice-types. She can also be easily stopped in her tracks by simply walling most of her Pokémon with a specially defensive Pokémon. Yet, despite all this, people are somehow losing to her. Lol As for the worst, that title belongs to Diantha. Not only does she not get involved in the story at all, but her team is also horrible and she was ridiculously easy to beat. As for Geeta, I am completely neutral on her. She gets a lot of hate for supposedly having a bad team, but let's be honest, no champion truly has a good team. The only champion that I can say has a good team is Blue, which could actually make for a really good meta team during its time. It's literally structured perfectly like a great team should be.

I did not even know Peony was a Champion at some point, I only remember him being a retired Gym Leader lol
Also saw Alder and Trace in the list and just went 'who the heck are those two' for a while. Remembered them eventually though.

I'm not far enough into gen 9 to judge either of those, so I'll just stick with Steven.
Nemona is unlikely to be a favorite though; I literally told her I didn't want to be friends with her at the start and she and the game forces it later on anyway. I've never liked pushy people 😤

I feel the same about champions as i do gym leaders, no attachment. Just the final boss with little character, until we get to gen 8 where leon gets alittle to do and nemona and geeta are around. I guess if i had to pick one then nemona for being pretty unique. She already IS a champion, but is also your rival. So she just uses weaker teams to essentially grow as you do.

Cynthia. Has a good team that truly represents the Sinnoh region. Has a few appearances during the main story. And she's not the protagonist's friend/rival (never liked rival and champion being the same person, I prefer the champion to be a seasoned trainer with years of experience, not some childhood friend obsessed with being my rival who started training Pokémon a few weeks ago just like me). And I have good memories of my battles against her.

I also liked Steven and Iris (can't recall Alder, I'm not sure I actually even battled against him). Don't like monotype champions (sorry Wallace).

I like Alder. He keeps a watchful eye over happenings in the region and I thought his talks with Cheren were memorable. I enjoy his theme quite a bit too.

This here. I don't like the Unova games much, yet Alder is possibly my favourite Champion. His status as a mentor figure, a proper leader and a battling veteran made him feel more like a Champion than possibly every other in this list.

Second would be a tie between Wallace and Lance, due to their involvement in the story helping either deal with the impending weather catastrophe, or taking down the villainous team directly. And third place goes to Iris, due to marking a logical end to her character development since the original B/W (plus her outfit and theme are adorable!). I'd also like to give Diantha a honorable mention; despite the hate she gets for being absent from the story, I liked her because she was mostly doing her own thing. It was especially refreshing after two successive Gens of a certain black-clad Champion following us everywhere, even the bathroom. -_-

Can't express myself for Paldea yet since I'm still at the beginning of the game, however here I'm sure about the answer: Steven Stone.

The Hoenn champion looks awesome and has a great team, not just with steel Pokémon but rock as well and I've always been fashinated by the fact he uses both of the local fossils: Armaldo and Cradily. I also have fond memories about its signature Pokémon, Metagross, who I was not able to figure out what kind of type combination could be made of during the first battles.

    Another reason to like Cynthia:

    [PokeCommunity.com] Favorite Champion

Held Items, beneficial natures, and even access to HAs. Finally, a Champion that knows these things exist 🙂

Iris also did this, but if I recall correctly only in Challenge mode.

I believe that every champion should have these characteristics to make them all feel more like champions.

Oof, the poll ended so quickly!

Gotta be Steven for me. Super sleek design especially with the ORAS update, awesome music, great typings, and overall a cool character in the anime series. Also biased towards Cynthia for having the best battle theme in existence and Blue because he's Blue. :'D
