I outgrew it quickly because it was lacking on the apps, but it's definitely a great way to be introduced to smartphones if you're on a budget and can't afford an Android phone.
That's the exact same reason for why I have abandoned Windows Phone, I had a Lumia 610 which was gifted to me by my father and it has been my first smartphone for me as well. It was okay when I first got it, but I quickly noticed the inferiorness of the Windows Phone platform.
Most Android and iOS apps weren't available on the Windows Phone market and the ones that did have a Windows Phone version sucked most of the time. The phone itself was also slow, WhatsApp took a solid 40 seconds to open and it was a pain to use, I eventually replaced this phone with an iPhone 4S which was way better.
